Finally finished my Arkoos-forsaken Purore region fossils
Purore Fossils.png

So in terms of lore...In Italy, two of the most noteworthy fossils found include the Tethyshadros, a hadrosaurid, and the Eudimorphodon, a pterosaur. So naturally I decided to use them as basis for my own fossil mons.

First up, lemme explain Hodrosoarus cuz it's the design I'm most proud of (this is part two of the Pokemon I'd have on my ingame team thus far, part one being my grass starter). Why is it bug type if it lacks many insectoid features? Well, think about Lokix - beyond being based on grasshoppers, it also has large basis in Japanese tokusatsu media like Kamen Rider, which feature superhero costumes that resemble insects in appearance. This is theorized to be why Bug is super-effective on what is known as the Evil type in Japan. I took a LOT of inspiration from tokusatsu megazords for Hodrosoarus. So if a group of Lokix went around fighting crime, they'd definitely ride on the back of a Hodrosoarus. And yes, that's my attempt at an arm cannon...and its name is meant to sound like 'hotrod' in addition to 'soar' and 'hadrosaur'. And I gave it the Steelworker ability due to how megazords usually have metal coating.

As for the Eudimorphodon-inspired Diemorphite...well, say it slowly. You-die-morph-odon. Doesn't that SOUND like a ghost type? And we've ALL been waiting for a Rock/Ghost type in real Pokemon. So I made a scared little pterosaur into a tormented soul who lives in perpetual agony and is not allowed to pass onto the next life after the extinction event that killed other fossils due to all the unfinished business it has no idea how to complete. Fun right? Also I discovered a mineral called Hemimorphite, a type of mineral sometimes seen in Italy and occasionally known to have blue vug-filling. Kinda like the blue 'blood' scars shown here!

Seriously I'm a bit too excited about these. I need a Hodrosoarus NOW. Let's hear it folks! Which fossil would you pick? The Helm Fossil or the Beak Fossil?

Holy macaroons. I promise any Gigan look-alike-ness was more or less completely subconscious, the thought didn't even occur to me.

That said Gigan has such a banger design that would work 10000% for a megazord or just a hero in general if he weren't an evil maniac 99 times out of 100. So no small wonder some Gigan-ness kinda bled into my design.

Rewatched Avengers Endgame

Despite all of the problems I know exist with this movie, I don't think I could ever truly dislike it. For personal reasons (good memories associated with it) and for what it represents, for a thing as massive and overloaded as the MCU, they pulled off a pretty damn good finale.

For a movie that is 3 hours, it was paced remarkably well, every time I've seen this movie It never feels like 3 hours. This movie is incredibly memorable, some good quips and lines that just stick with you for a while. The Time Heist was a great portion and the action, the final battle especially I found to be engaging and really good (I just wish it was more visible, it was very drab.) but it has so many great segments and that portals scene still gives me goosebumps after all this time.

The character stuff was good for the most part, there are the big elephants in the room like Thor and Black Widow. I like the concept of what they were trying to do with Thor, I just think they could have handled it with more tact, and Black Widow ties into the underlying problems of the MCU being weird about women.

But yeah I just really like this movie.

Boy do I wish the MCU still had this level of cohesion going into it's next finale.

The more I’ve watched it over the last 6 years the less I like it. Time travel ruined it.
Infinity War remains superior in every way imo. The first time a bad guy won.

I was gonna play Xenoblade until I learned more about how the combat actually worked and saw it wasn’t what I thought it would be. Though maybe I should still give it a shot.
give it a chance. It gets much better. Start with XB1 for Switch and then 2 and then 3. You’ll see the combat get better over the series.
