For a minute, I honestly thought the new flying enemies in Tears of the Kingdom might be the return of the Aeralfos.

I'm not so convinced now since their designs are pretty drastically different, but if this enemy was ever going to make a return, wouldn't TotK be perfect for it? Besides the wyvern-like enemies themselves, there's a lot of floating islands and there seems to be a major focus on the sky and more means of air travel in general.

Metroid deserves to be sitting at the top with some of Nintendo’s greats.

With the Metroid fan base starving for any Prime goodness, gorgeous visual improvements, and a very attractive $40 price tag, it was always a recipe for success.

I'm happy about this too.

I will say the original Metroid Prime 1 for GameCube was easily one of the most gorgeous looking games during its generation (still looks good now) but the remaster takes all that and cranked it up a ton.

Puts all of Nintendo's past $60 remasters to shame.

I beat the Elite 4 in Pokemon Violet! I also finished the Herba Mystica and Team Star plotlines, so now it's just a matter of going into Area Zero. This is what my team wound up being:

I didn't intend for my team to have a theme at first (I got Fuecoco as my starter, caught Fidough and Magikarp early on, wanted to include Gible and Larvitar on my team, and then I caught Toxel so I'd have a Pokemon that was super effective against the water gym), but I find it funny that most of my team wound up being threatening-looking lizards... and then there's a fluffy cinnamon bun at the end. (who totally annihilated the team of one of the Elite 4 members)

Anyways, having watched the Nintendo Direct last night:

• The last I played "Ghost Trick" was way back during the Nintendo DS days, but I am glad to see that it is getting itself back on the spotlight to the Switch with a remaster.
• Also glad to see that Professor Layton finally gets a long awaited new entry.
• Its also great to see that Metroid Prime is getting a remaster. I would not be surprised if something like F-Zero GX will get a remaster at some point in the future.

So Dominique Thorne originally tried out for the role of Shuri for the first Black Panther which then went to Letitia Wright. In addition, Chadwick's T-Shirt had a meaning at the time and it is still sad that he passed away.

I saw someone speculated why Mario was basically absent in yesterday's Direct is they might be saving the good stuff for Mario Day (March 10).

I can agree with that with a movie upon us.

I also saw it theorized they didn’t want casual parents to see new Mario game and think that’s what everyone was talking about instead of a movie, which would make some sense.

They dropped 3D All stars and a bunch of other Mario content for the series in a direct when those games were coming out. The games were rumored for months before being dropped in that direct way later then we expected. So a repeat is possible.

I think they just drew menu sprites in that style for every Pokemon just in case. BDSP uses them as well.

I'll believe it when I see it. This announcement being so close to the Open Letter a bunch of TF2 Content Creators signed is a but sus to me, It definitely reminds me of the #SaveTF2 thing where valve said "We'll work on it" and then did absolutely nothing.

Oh, maybe GBA online with Superstar Saga would renew interest in the M&L series after 3 games of poor sales and Nintendo will bring it back .

The sprites are almost certainly future proofing in case any further games use the same sprite style (Which definitely seems to be the case), as no matter how massive the inevitable DLC is, I doubt all Pokemon and forms are returning, especially for stuff like Eternal Flower Floette, Ash Greninja, and Eternamax Eternatus.

If I read it right, I saw a tweet this morning saying these are just Pokémon home sprites that have been around and don’t necessarily mean these Pokémon are coming back.

I genuinely don’t think this is that much of a stretch. This was probably a very intentional choice out of all the other games they could have gone with right away. But maybe we are both delusional lol.
