How's the New Year so far for everyone?

I have some New Year's traditions

-Try to be a better person on the internet, force of habit apparently I think post before I think, admit I have an ego going as well. Don't say I'll try, I'll just do it.
-Become more motivated to my writing.

I finally beat Brothership yesterday. Really fun game, I really only have two main complaints.

- It’s not as funny. Comedy is subjective and all, but I remember laughing more at older M&L games.

- The pacing is wonked. The game takes a long time to get going and spends too long wrapping itself up.

But aside from that I had a great time. I’m so stoked that Mario RPGs are back, I never would’ve imagined this even just a few years ago.

Just beat Hooktail in Thousand Year Door. I've gotten timing down on action commands for the most part, except that I keep missing super guards. I can hit regular guards consistently but I keep getting greedy and going for the super guards when I shouldn't.

I'm enjoying the game but it does get a little bit tedious and repetitive sometimes. I suppose that's the nature of RPGs but still. Even though I get the impression it's a shorter RPG I'm hoping I don't end up burnt out on it before I hit the credits.

Recently, Disney pushed an ad saying Mufasa The Lion King is the “Number 1 movie in America”. However, people have pointed out Sonic 3 is actually the higher grossing movie. But, it turns out Sonic 3 is no longer being reported on Box Office wise (for context this is from BoxOfficeMojo) leading to Mufasa being king of the box office (I couldn’t resist).

Naturally there are theories regarding why Sonic 3 is removed from the rankings.

It’s nothing devious. Even Comscore does not have updated info and that’s where box office mojo and several other sites get their daily box office info. It should also be noted that Gladiator 2 and a few other films are not currently updated as well.

Not to follow the drama surrounding Mufasa vs Sonic 3, but it seems that Disney is TRYING to be #1 movie no matter what it takes. Based on this, they are literally SALTY seeing 2 hedgehogs and his friends powered by Chaos Energy beating Mufasa.

Mufasa is #1 in the world. It has a higher world wide box office total than Sonic 3.

Same as a few weeks ago when Moana 2 crushed Wicked part 1.

I hope that 2025 will give fans of classic Zelda-like games a new Adventure to enjoy and that they will appreciate it despite being a game from another series.

I have read some interpret this as if it is a remake, it is a NEW game not an old one. It's a little strange after Zero, resuming a formula from the most unique title in the series, but I've heard good things about it.

Most people are interprerting this as something Star Fox Adventures related

Samus Hunter did know about Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, and Donkey Kong Country Universal Studios Direct, providing clues to them prior to their reveals.

You’ll be waiting a while then. It’ll take more than a couple financially disappointing films to get rid of Disney, they’ve got enough money and clout to flop for 50 years and still chug along until they can get it together.

Funny thing is...Whenever Disney DOES get put in its place, like with Wish, it usually doesn't last long and they're back to making millions by the next movie.

And even then, remember that not everyone working at Disney and on their films is a greedy money-fiend like the higher-ups. Some people make a living there. Remember to spare a thought for those people.

I've always thought that Star Fox and Pikmin are the best IPs to choose next for movies past the Mario universe (I want to see the former more personally). Maybe the Easter Eggs of them found in the Mario movie were clues.

This is pretty much my stance on the situation. The executives are the real villains at Disney, not the people who make the films and shows themselves. I could never hate anyone who makes Puppy Dog Pals. Would've been nice if PDP was on the main Disney Channel and not banished to Disney Junior.

This is what happens when you read comics. Anything and everything can be done, undone and modified. It’s one of the reasons why I stopped reading them 17 years ago. I need stability and stakes.

Happy New Year!

Been going through MMBN 1. I like it so far. The fact that it's supposedly one of the weaker games like OG Mega Man 1 is has me even more excited for MMBN 2 and 3, Though I know the 2nd Trilogy also has 5 and 6 as supposedly better titles than 4. But I'll get to that when I get to that.

That makes way more sense than Gamefreak just taking more time on their games. Totally

This goes back to what Riddler Khu was teasing today.

Man was saying we were getting another game in 2026 that totally didn’t leak in the 1 terabyte of data stolen, that may I remind Khu outlines the next 3 years for the franchise.

But sure Khu, somehow a main line game didn’t manage to get leaked with that.

People were legitimately thinking they would drop Gen 5 remakes that early into switch 2 and the same year as Gen 10 the 30th anniversary game.

They are not devoting marketing that year to anything but advertising that game as an anniversary milestone. There is no way in hell we get another mainline game that same year.
