People often complain that the Disney company 'doesn't respect animation anymore' and that Walt Disney himself would be disappointed in them.

But I've watched my fair share of Defunctland and I can safely say that Walt probably couldn't care less. Late in his life, he laser-focused on his bizarre city project EPCOT, essentially a town built the way he desired at all his whims (and that's an entire different can of worms), and began to see his animation projects (and movie projects in general) as comparatively pointless frivolities compared to his true calling of estate establishment and government, apparently.

So I've heard, he once complained, "Fancy being remembered for the invention of a mouse." Quite the opposite sentiment of "I hope we never lose sight that it was all started with a mouse."

Nonetheless, after Walt died, his brother Roy said "yeah that ain't happening" to Walt's larger EPCOT plans, and the company instead reconfigured the project to give us the big golf ball land we have today.

will anyone here actually be watching the Game Awards?
Yes. Only for the reveals. The terrible singing/music and the completely boring muppets trash will be tough to get through though.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League announced that they are ending Seasonal updates after January.

The final batch of content will include Deathstroke and an offline mode.
The game was a disaster (connection and logging in) the first several months. PC users had it the worst. Thankfully my issues on the PS5 were minimal. I think I ended up putting 350 hours into SS. I’ll doubt check when the PlayStation wrap-up comes out today.

The game was ultra grindy with recycled enemies every season. Every base hero, who has cool abilities in the comics/movies/shows, were given……guns.

The game had a ton of cheaters so the leaderboards had nothing but modded characters with infinite skill points in the top 4.

The gender bent and sexuality bent and ethnicity bent DLC characters were added and people got even more upset.

oh also, the online casual base of players who have -49 IQ complained like babies about the Justice League dying (even though the title of the game tells you what would happen) and then complained like babies about HOW Batman was killed off (he was placed on a park bench and Harley shot him in the head like any other random criminal would have died). The SS isn’t an elite force with morals or ethics or style or a sense or respect. They are untrained, sloppy, dumb and F up all the time. It makes sense that they wouldn’t give Batman an “honorable” death.

I’ll admit the music is cool. The cutscenes are cool. The voice acting is cool. Script is cool. The unique movement abilities each character had was super slick too and felt like time and care were seriously given to each. King Shark is my favorite character by far.

Fun fact: they were selling the $100 version for $5 during the Steam Autumn sale.
Very normal for a non-Nintendo game.

I’m still very afraid of death. The idea of not existing anymore mortifies me.
I felt that way as a kid. But now that I’m a few years away from 40 and have seen many many terrible and wonderful things in life, I’m ok with it. Not because I want to be. But because we have no choice in the matter. To be scared or be angry or dread something that has a 100% chance of happening is natural but also pointless. Live everyday how you want (within the limits of the law) and enjoy whatever you can because Big Papa Grim Reaper is sharpening the scythe and we will never know when he’s ready to swing.

Speaking of death, go see **** in Boots: The Last Wish (2023). It’s truly incredible. The film teaches us about death and the opportunity we have with life.

They only roll out the big carpet like The Game Awards for certain characters that would get the whole internet talking

Fahkumram time
Mid, you might as well have casted a room-wide sleep spell at the awards to get the same reaction imo. :drshrug:

A fellow transfem posted on a networking app looking for trans friends and loves to talk about Pokemon. She plays competitive. She's got got my exact same special interest this is pretty much exactly what I was hoping to find.

The problem: I saw her profile photo and she's skinny and cute and I will feel way too insecure about myself next to her. I'm way too intimidated to actually reach out. Heck.

My biggest weakness as a transfem is probably my fear of girls why am I like this

Oh, oh man, id legit try that. Hell, taco bell made a Tostada out if a gient cheezit, why cant a cheezit pizza exsist
Exactly. Heres what you do:
Blend up a bunch of cheezits to the point its just dust. Mix it with a little bit of milk so its kind of pasty and put it into a circular mold, then freeze.
Take it out of the freezer after probably a day and put sauce and cheese on it (ofc) then for the toppings add a bunch of different cheezit flavors.

Give her a chance. Chances are that she doesn't care about your perceived faults and just wants to geek out together.

From the article:

"The lights were on, but nobody came. At Brazil’s prestigious Comic Con Experience (CCXP) on Sunday, Sony Pictures’ surprise panel for “Kraven the Hunter” — the studio’s latest non-Spider-Man Marvel movie — played to rows of empty seats, according to an individual in attendance. There were no stars, and not that many fans. Just silence where superhero hype should have been."

"The half-empty panel presentation of a $110 million budgeted antihero movie at one of the world’s largest pop culture events reflected the Sony Marvel franchise’s diminishing profile outside the mainline “Spider-Man” movies starring Tom Holland. While “Venom: The Last Dance” launched on more than 4,000 movie screens in October, “Kraven the Hunter” will debut this Friday in just 3,000 — a stark 25% reduction that signals waning confidence in Sony’s failed Marvel experiment."

Well, I cannot say that I am surprised about this considering that it was always going to be difficult on creating a cinematic universe without its titular superhero.

Guess that means El Meurto is not happening anytime soon and probably will not be surprised if Kraven the Hunter underperforms considering that it does face stiff competition from Sonic 3 and Mufasa.

And thus nothing of value was lost.

Damn, I'd have watched Donald Glover's Hypno Hustler, we need to save this series by getting Sony to release Morbius a third time
