Yes, but the next game will be open world is what I’m saying. The 3D OOT style is effectively dead and I think some are only realizing that now.

I think its possible to make a hybrid. But you'd have to give up a lot of openness to actually have a compelling narrative.

I've been saying linearity isn't bad for years. People are finally starting to listen.

BOTW and TOTK still outsold the other 3D Zelda games by several magnitudes. While we are seeing attempts to bring back elements from older 3D Zeldas like dungeons (Aonuma's words, not mine), I don't foresee the nonlinear approach being abandoned anytime soon. Heck if anything I wouldn't be surprised if the next Zelda takes some cues from Elden Ring.
