Episodic shows get a lot of unnecesary flack these days amd it really annoys me.

I don't watch modern Spongebob, or Simpsons and definitely not Family Guy. But mini plots being contained in a single episode not being "real stories" is something I take a ton of issue with. There's something kind of snoby about thay attitude and it's weirdly common.

Yeah for as good as story driven shows are with major plot developments, there's still fun to be had with episodic stuff you can just... Tune into without needing to have seen every episode prior in case you missed something important

Well, the first Sonic Movie trailer had Gangsta's Paradise, a song that had absolutely nothing to do with the movie in both message and tone. The only way they can top that is if they play Straight Outta Compton(obvious language warning)

Hmm it does look fun.
I just dont want a game within a game-type game. Like I have Crash N. sane Trilogy but I didn't even beat the remake of the first game yet. And if I try beating all three of those games it'd take some time.
If Mania's not like that (which judging by what I just looked up, it doesn't seem it is) I'll consider it! : )
Or maybe Adventure 2. It do be on Steam

Though I don't think the first game was lacking in effort, it just needed a good KO system and more support from Sony for extra third parties and content.
