Yup. Squid ink adds a dark sheen and a deep, slightly briny flavor to a dish, one that envelopes the mouth without being overly fishy, making it an appealing coloring and flavoring ingredient for cooking pasta, rice and shellfish.

ORAS was great, no matter how much people whine about the Battle Frontier.

I mean

The Battle Frontier is what gave me literally 200+ hours in Emerald.


It was what introduced me to the concept of Natures and EVs/IVs and Egg Moves. The Battle Frontier gave me countless hours of enjoyment, and to not have those in ORAS, which woulda made the game "Emerald, but better", was a huge slap in the nuts.

I mean, I had a few casting choices in mind for my Paper Mario game ideas...

Up the level of Cynthia's Pokemon would be the most logical without throwing balance out the window.

Makes sense, though could you imagine the fear in new players if they pitied a Fairy type against her Garchomp and either Garchomp is able to withstand the attack or she has a move that can insta-kill a fairy type if it lands...

I mean to be fair, Garchomp can learn moves like Poison Jab and Iron Head, so it's not like owning a Fairy-Type automatically saves you from a potential ass kicking.

This is why im more a Digimon guy.

Digimon is still a kids franchise but Namco Bandai knows that there are older fans who have been there since the beginning so they are willing to make products that cater to that demographic. i.e Cyber sleuth.

I liked the Battle Frontier in HGSS, but it's absence wasn't really that big of a deal, and it's annyoing that that's all anyone mentions as to why Emerald > ORAS. ORAS has the Delta Epidode, 300+ more Pokemon, all the legendaries to hunt down, and multiple ways of shinyhunting. I'd say all of those make up for it, and more. I'm sure the fact I grew up with ORAS and not RSE has nothing to do with it...

I'm in the camp that Battle Frontier wasn't a big loss, but I can see why people were upset.

Put yourself in these shoes for a moment.


You're 13 years old.

You CRUSHED Wallace(Wait why isn't Steven the champion anymore?) with your ragtag team you've assembled through your adventure.

You suddenly told about a new area opening up that wasn't in Sapphire, the Battle Frontier.

You enter the area and are blasted with the most Hoenn of Hoenn trumpets.

You run around a bit, find the Smeargle cave, and decide to pick one of the 7 facilities.

....You get your ass kicked with a realization that "Wait, what do you mean I don't just one shot everything anymore? What do you mean it scales to my level so I can't bring 1 Uber strong Pokemon and 2 weak ****s to roflstomp everything?

So you suddenly go online to learn how to beat it, and a whole new world of breeding and competitive battling opens up to you.


The Battle Frontier was hard, it made you git gud. You had to learn about Natures(Especially for the Battle Palace), you had to be risky(Battle Pike, Battle Pyramid), you had to be smart(Battle Factory). This kind of challenge is what a lot of us older fans frankly miss in the series.

I appreciate their desire to make competitive easier to get into, like, a lot, but outside of just online battles, there's basically no reason to do it in-game. When you had something like the Battle Frontier, you had frankly a ton of replayability to it.


But the Battle Tower has been getting easier and easier with each Gen, and starting around Gen 6 when gimmicks really started to take over, like Megas, Z-Moves, and Dynamax, it became piss easy.


....Like, did anyone have any trouble with SwSd's Battle Tower? The fact that FOR SOME REASON they let you bring the Box Legendaries in, and Leon is a joke of a "Battle Tower leader", it's kinda a joke.
