I’m gonna get some moola and invest in the Shantae series. Being able to play the entire series on switch is very appealing. So I’m finally gonna take the dive!

Make sure you have a guide ready for Shantae GBC. Some parts of that game really haven't aged well.
The rest of the series is a fun time, though. Hope you enjoy.

10 and a half years of waiting is over for me. What I once called "The impossible sequel (except Half Life 3)" is finally over personally wait wise. The game that has finally impacted me more than any other is in my hands. I finally have the sequel to The World Ends With You!

Speaking of Shantae, I hate how the series is distributed physically. It's a legitimate scalper's paradise after Limited Run Games is done taking pre-orders since they never offer reprints of anything.

Hope you enjoy them enough. Keep in mind the first game suffers a lot from First Title Syndrome and the sequels get better in pretty much every area.

Unfortunately that is true for the DS version. It's very expensive and found even $60/£45 for it in the local second hand shop.
My advice? Get the Final Remix version, shift to easy and touch control mode and play it only for the story and soundtrack really. Those two are the strongest parts of it all. It's the best and most accessible if you ask me.
Or get the mobile game.
I hate scalpers, like they are one of those people who really need to be forced to live in an "non-capitalist" poor country so they can wise up. And you telling me that reminds me of how lucky I was to 1/2 Genie Hero physical and secondhand for cheap. Retailer didn't know the value of it at the time.
Really wished more developers just put their series in a collection and decent reprints. Shantae is one without a doubt.

A little too heavy on the third parties for my taste, especially with both Activision and Capcom getting 4 characters right off the bat. I'd like to see more Sony characters but I get that they are not what most people think when it comes to PS.
Though, I liked that there are a couple of deep cuts like Elizabeth.

Did that play like a Metroidvania? I really liked Shantae and the Pirate's Curse because it had a lot of exploring but didn't like Half Genie Hero because the linear level design. So I'm on the fence about Seven Sirens.

Mostly, more unconventional picks like Fat Princess, like a LocoRoco character. And maybe throw backs to their old cult classics such as Folklore or Okage. Someone from Resistance would be cool, too. Returnal may be too new but there are a lot of moveset potential for Selene.
Also, if Coco is here, there's no reason why Rivet can't be.

While out at sea, both she and Lev got attacked and killed by a great white shark.
