The only thing I know about LotR is that they're taking the hobbits to Isengard.


I dunno why they're taking the hobbits to Isengard, but apparently a balrog of Morgoth has something to do with it.

OK. Another weird question. Apparently two of the directors of the Samurai Shodown reboot have expressed interest in seeing someone from Gundam as a guest character..... how the frig would that even work? Aren't the gundam all like.... 50 feet tall?

Edit: It only occurred to me after I posted this to check the date of the article I was looking at. It was an April Fools Day post from two years ago. God Damn It.

All I know about lord of the rings (aside from pop culture stuff like “my precious!”) is that they shoulda got the Eagles to take the ring.

Actually that would have been a stupid idea. See... according to the lore Tolkein set down, the Eagles are basically demigods. And the more powerful you are, the more susceptible you are to the Ring's temptation. Gandalf (who is also another secret god) talks often about how much of a struggle the temptation is for him and he's not even the one holding it! Not to mention, from a tactical perspective, how many Eagles are you gonna loose in an all out assault like that? How are you gonna get the eagles to sign up for that? Nah, the mission called for stealth and for the sneaking to be done by someone who was at the bottom of Tolkein's cosmic power scale.

Have you seen How to Train your Dragon?

It’s not even fantasy, really. There’s no witchcraft or wizardry. Dragons are treated as normal fauna in this world, and their powers are given scientific explanations.

Lol yeah! They were worried he'd just stick it in a drawer or something and forget about it and then throw it away. Funniest part of the book IMO. Man I wish Tom wasn't so superfluous to the plot because I really wanted to see him in the movies.

I should listen to these books again.

I never could get into that movies because of just how different they are from the books.

They are not even bad, but the difference between them always breaks my immersion.
