Have you watched any of the Ice Age movies?
Yeah! I didn’t like the first one much but the second two I watched way more because they had dinosaurs in them and I was a huge dinosaur kid. I like ice age animals too, but not as much as dinosaurs. I never watched beyond 3 though, but I really loved them as a kid! I should probably rewatch them. Too bad they’re probably only on Disney+ now.

Yep ****lords.

After a few days just thought I'd fully confirm it. I'm taking a step back between now and E3. A few of yous I'm messaging on PMs about stuff as I have a plan about something off-site I hope to do after.

Smash that like button like it's the only action you're ever giving to someone for now though.

Yeah that kinda joke but I've had a crappy few days, an old friend's influence is growing on me and I've became a bit of a **** from almost endless. Be nice to your friends but an ass to your enemies. That's the way of having Celtic blood in me.
ive never been more happy to be called a ****lord

So can I be totally honest since eere talking abiut movie studios?

I don't think Illumination is awful. They're just averagelly average and safe, and that's ok for the audience they want to hit (little kids).
I think the worst thing about them is their capacity for good. They’re content making generic kids movies that are inoffensive but will never be considered one of the greats either.

And tbh, there's nothing too wrong with that. It won't be winning awards anytime soon, bit if you want to simply shut your brain off and spend time with like a little cousin or something like that, Illumination has you covered.

Though Minions will probably annoy you.

I’m a huge ****ing paleontology/paleoecology nerd. Dinosaurs were like... my life as a child and I would get mad when shows got scientific details wrong.

I would rewatch Ice Age 3 trying to name every single dinosaur that appeared. I succeeded.

I was nuts about dinosaurs and then I saw HTTYD and I got nuts about dragons. And then I discovered Pokémon which had both dinosaurs and an entire type full of dragons. All in the same year.

What a good year that was.

You really should read The Great Zoo of China then.

Jurassic Park but with dragons.

Honestly, when it comes to things I loved as a kid, history was my thing. I spent hours just reading every little detail about ancient civilisations like the Greeks, Romans, medevial Europe, etc. I still do kinda enjoy learning about history to this day.

I use to not mind Shrek Forever After but after thinking about it again, the movie takes it away from me since even for someone like Shrek how mean-spirited he was in the beginning. Even for Shrek that was totally out of character.

Still much better then Shrek the Third.

I never saw HTTYD3, but I do remember seeing 1 and 2 in theatres and being super sad after Hiccup's dad died.
You should watch it, perfect end to the trilogy.

It has some issues of course, the side characters are really annoying in this one. But the Hiccup/Toothless stuff is amazing as always and it wraps up their character arcs nicely.

Then again it’s my favorite film series so I’m biased...

Kung Fu Panda IMO is as perfect of an animated trilogy that you can possibly get. Granted I don't think the third was as good as the last two but it was still pretty close.

Please DreamWorks don't make a fourth movie, it ended perfectly with Po now having both his fathers and back with his people.

I remember liking Despicable Me 1 and 2.
Despicable Me 1 was the goat. The whole thing is easily the best movie they've made.

Then Illumination made 2, realized they could make millions without trying, and the rest is history.

The third one made 888 million dollars.

They realized they didn’t have to care after that.
Still didn't mean they had to rely on and resort to toilet humor and pop culture references. What happened to the emotional drama we saw in the first movie. The second and third films while not having the same level as the first movie did still both had emotion and heart to them as well.

Many could argue that being consistently average and safe is worse as it ends up having nothing of substance to offer. As an amateur artist, I don’t like Illumination. They lack artistic integrity. Their business model is to make films as cost effective as possible. Their only goal is to turn a profit and they treat their films as just products.

I like the first Despicable Me, I’ll say that much though.

Man June is gonna be full of movies to watch!

Awake, Infinite, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, Luca, The Ice Road, and Werewolves Within (Only if a dog doesn't die)!

Still haven't watched A Quiet Place Part II. Waiting for good quality to watch that.

Unfortunately, that's not limited to Illumination. Look at Disney, they're dead set on making bad live action remakes that will sell a billion overseas without having to try. Dreamworks runs their franchises to the ground with uneeded sequels, Blue Sky did the same before Disney shut them down.

It startled me how many potential crossover mashup theme songs there are and how many of them don’t exist. Like... you can find a Christmas version of Jurassic park music but not a mashup of the MMPR and TMNT themes? HOW!?!
