I noticed some of you were talking about the Oscars earlier. I'd hate to bring it up again, but is anyone feeling they are becoming "out of date" or something?

I think people are just fed up with celebrities pushing their own individual projects or “agendas” I guess. Like, the Joaquin Phoenix speech he gave when he won an award for Joker was...particularly jarring when he was winning an award for a movie about a villains decent into darkness. Was it a bad speech? Nah, not really but there’s more platforms and better ways to promote that stuff, like for instance donating to foundations which a lot of celebrities have a tendency to avoid doing, but instead they choose to do so at the Oscars. Why? Because it’s bizarre and dramatic and it’ll make news.

I see. I couldn't honestly care about the lives, projects and agendas of celebrities. If that is all the Oscars are for, nowadays, I don't see a good reason to have them nowadays.

Oscars also has a tendency to not really break any boundaries. You can often tell what’s going to win each category when the nominees are announced. We’re very VERY lucky Shape of Water and Parasite won because often times that doesn’t happen.

They also have a heavy tendency to avoid anything that’s particularly popular for... shock value I suppose? Like, I’m not about to say Endgame deserved to win best picture but not a single MCU movie won an award until Black Panther. You’d think they’d at least win a few special effects awards here and there but nah.

Shark Tale is one of the most brilliant animated features of all time and Will Smith's immaculate performance as Oscar should have elevated it into a league of its own, so I can understand why you're frustrated that it shared space with those two movies.

I'd say most categories in the Oscars are a joke, considering something like that is not the only thing that has happened with movies not being nominated when they should be.

Real talk, I'm honestly sad I won't be able to stream in time for Miitopia. I kind of wanted to launch my content creation career with this game, but I don't want to rush things: I am very much still learning how to actually do stuff and figure out what kind of channel and personality I want to be and put out there that rushing things for this game would've been a mistake.

That said, y'all better believe I'm recording clips and sharing the best ones.

Not terrible pulls for only 4 packs. I find it kinda funny how all of my Mystical Archive spells are 2 CMC though lol.


As a side note, man, the TCG section of my local walmart looks like a tornado had ran through it. The scalpers musta gotten to it since I last was there.

This reminds me of how a while ago there was a rumor that their next project was gonna be a DC vs. Marvel game. Please let that be true. I would hate for an all marvel game to come out of the only studio giving DC's expanded canon any love anymore.
