Well I guess the bright side to this will be erasing the existence of what was The Last of Us: Part II.

TLOU might have been a great game, but it really set back Triple A studios, because now all everyone wants to do is make interactive movies where you press the A button occasionally, while forgetting the part where the player actually has to interact with the enviroment.

It really ruined it because all people wanna do is make the same GOTY bait TPS game.

I think it did and you know what it's for the best so that sequel is forever forgotten. The creators probably realized their mistake and are attempting to redo it eventually leading to an actual good sequel to the game that the fans deserved.

Have you read the article above? It has nothing to do with the sequel, they wanted to make a safe remake and TLoU was deemed as the safest option.

It has nothing to do with the internet overreacting to a mediocre game for the wrong reasons.

Headcanon time.

Super 8 and 10 Cloverfield Lane are set in the same universe. 10 Cloverfield Lane is set decades after the events of Super 8 and the invasion is the aliens race from Super 8 returning to earth getting revenge for what the military did to one of their species.

The alien we saw near the end of the latter movie was one of their "attack dogs".

Still waiting on a remake for War of the Monsters. That game deserves better and should've gotten a sequel.

It happens every console generation. One company is riding their high horse off the success from previously and they then think they no longer need to try, whereas the one who suffered previously does a tonne of stuff to regain favor and becomes the one ultimately on top. Sound familiar? PS2 into PS3. Xbox 360 into Xbox One. Wii into Wii U. I'm sure plenty more.

To be honest, I'm very close to dropping Sony this gen because of this ****. The only game I'm interested in from them is God of War and Horizon

And I'm still so pissed at the destruction of Japan Studio, the closing of the PS3/PS Vita stores and ass system of having to transfer PS4 to PS5 game systems. Their combining the drink with depression corporate meds here it seems.
And The Last of Us getting a remake already? That bit overrated "oh the world is so sad and bad" game. Just make ND into a Movie Studio!

Lastly was about how Sony Bend tried to pitch a sequel to Days Gone and corp's reaction:
"Although the first game had been profitable, its development had been lengthy and critical reception was mixed, so a Days Gone 2 wasn’t seen as a viable option."

Then that's why you make a bloody sequel! To improve upon it! Seriously man.

I'm not a Sony fan but that's sad to hear, makes them sound greedy and maybe hopeless if they really don't have any ideas (no surprise if they're killing off their creative studios I guess). Some of their exclusives seemed cool.

I guess they'll still be making money off interactive movies though, sounds kinda dumb to be the only thing they make unless they're actually switching over to a pure movie/videogame-like movie company.
