Finally tried Super Mario Bros. 35 today (I say 'finally' but I actually haven't renewed my NSO subscription since April) and it is the most fun I've had with my Switch in a while. Simply the premise of being 'Tetris 99 but a game I'm actually half-decent at' already makes it great. Of course, this means it shares some flaws with Tetris 99, but I'm willing to forgive them because of the sheer chaotic fun of getting half the server to target you then bombarding some poor other player with all the enemies sent your way. It even feels way easier to escape bad situations, unlike in Tetris 99, but that may be because I'm way better at this game than that game. Nintendo, if you're one of those guests that mysteriously lurks this thread, keep this game up after March 31st and I may finally buy Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Also beat the Pikmin 3 Deluxe demo. It took a bit of getting used to, but I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, and I may consider getting the full game at a later point. I find it very sad that game publishers tend to avoid demos, since they have introduced me to games I never thought I'd enjoy and led me to buy their full versions (for example, the 2019 Splatoon 2 Special Demo is the only reason I ever tried the series, and I'm a big fan of it now). Most, however, don't seem to feel that way and will choose not to buy after trying a demo, thus decreasing overall game sales. Regardless, a try-before-you-buy system is always appreciated in my eyes. Now I'm waiting on the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo that Nintendo leaked in South Korea - it should release tomorrow.
