Is the point to just take down your opponent first? Not tai chi, the sparring matches I mean.

If so, almost every video I watched(about 7) you guys are going about it all wrong haha. Are there rules involved aside from no striking? How come you guys don't go for leg takedowns? I didn't see any singlelegs or double :/. Just using brute force to knock them off balance while ignoring momentum and foot placement seems kind of silly.

We should do a sparring match like this saturday .

according to S.A.s requirements for being black, i don't qualify.

just push hands, which is grappling mainly. You have to feel for your opponent's energy and when you find the opening you take control and pull them down. it's not brute force, more like using your opponent's energy against him.

Also there are leg takedowns, just watch a few more and you will eventually see em.

I took a few classes but didn't really learn anything from them. I don't remember how to spell the name of it either haha.

I WAS in wrestling though for several years, which is how I know this stuff . I'll show you some things if you want at the tournament.

Why feel for an opening when you can create one? I know all sorts of takedowns, and how to stop them as well.

I once sparred with two 3rd degree black belts in tai kwon do with my few years of wrestling. I won the majority.

If you are looking for GOOD martial arts try something like say...Muai Tai.

Oh, and grappling >>>> striking.

And I would say BJJ is better .

Really though if you want to learn grappling join a wrestling team.
