I agree, as a general statement about Sakurai. Though, he apparently does care about Ridley's portrayal being accurate. All one has to do is replay either of the two Ridley boss battles in Brawl. That is largely why I'm doubtful..

Coming from someone that actually played Super Metroid back when it was originally released, size was never a part of what made Ridley intimidating. That was more the realm of Kraid and possibly Mother Brain's second form.

I don't think I have seen really anyone else aside from the Ridley detractors say size is what makes Ridley intimidating. I would sure as hell be intimidated by Ridley even if he were human sized, and I am sure everyone else here would.

I agree with you, though I definitely have seen Too Biggers saying that they prefer Ridley as a boss because they like him too much to see him "demoted". I definitely think he can be faithfully reproduced as a character, though... I mean, honestly, Samus always wins, so it's not like Ridley actually is an insanely powerful god. Heck, I bet in a lot of the games Samus actually does more damage and has more health than Ridley...

So, yeah. To me, size is not what defines Ridley at all. He's fast, he's smart, and he's cruel... but that's just my opinion, everyone's free to their own.

Question to draw away from the endless bickering...

Do people want Ridley to ever be voice acted and have dialogue in the Metroid games?

I don't think Ridley will be revealed tomorrow (I think K. Rool will be), but I do think Ridley is all but confirmed for Smash Wii U and/or Smash 3DS.

I've already explained why scaling down and scaling up are quite different. You, as a Ridley hopeful, aren't going to grant any of my points publicly. That is to be expected.
The only thing Ridley has going for it is that it has a strong backing by fans and the Metroid series could use a new character. There are more Metroid characters to choose from, however. Sakurai has already demonstrated that he wants Ridley to remain true to his massive, intimidating form as depicted in the Metroid series by implementing him in TWO boss battles. They would have to say to hell with Brawl boss battles and with Metroid depiction in order to cater to the Ridley crowd.
That said, Ridley could be a newcomer- it would just be asinine and illogical to say the least and I would be surprised. Only time will tell. Not much time left, fortunately. We'll see soon.

I guarantee you all (GUARANTEE) that we are going to get at least one of these three characters tomorrow:
1. Ridley
2. Little Mac
3. K. Rool

Ridley can be passed over either because Sakurai thinks K. Rool makes a better villain to show off, or that Little Mac appeals to the Western crowd better.

I think Ridley does both which is why he makes such a good choice for the unveil, but we are just going to in the words of Sakurai, have to wait just a bit longer, in order to find out whether Ridley will be among the first newcomers.

I do think we are definitely getting Takamaru (the stars are lining up perfectly for him). However, other possible likely choices for the trailer all have possible attributes for why they may be passed on (for example, Palutena could be passed on because Sakurai has another female newcomer in mind for the unveil).

You see, when I go for the smash, my opponents get slashed, and after they get slashed, their bodies get thrashed, and after they get trashed, they tell me that was a weak clash, which by the way, that will be the title of the next smash, and I'd be willing to say that and bet on that, like I got mad cash.
