Well, if Ridley doesn't make it into SSB4, he could end up in Hyrule Warriors. If they can make *AGITHA* a playable character they can make Ridley happen. /slightexaggeration

I joined after Little Mac got confirmed and several months had gone by without seeing Ridley on Pyrosphere. I wasn't even aware that Ridley was insanely popular around here until I did a bit of research.

I just kinda thought the game needed more villains. My first post on these boards was a thread about how brawl should contain more villains. The first person who posted on that thread pointed me towards the Ridley thread. The rest is history

To be honest I don't remember when I personally wanted Ridley in Smash, I never got around to getting all the relics or whatever you needed for the fight with him in the original Prime game although I have finished all Metroid games that came after, including Fusion and Super Metroid which I got on Wii U.

Ridley just always seemed like one of the more serious villains from Nintendo games, and having my favourite female protagonist in the game helped. Plus if you read the Manga (which I saw glimpses of), Ridley and Samus' history is a lot deeper than characters like Mario imo (even if Bowser did try to steal Mario and Luigi as children), which adds more character, even if the games don't show it.

Same, right around the Brawl meltdowns. I've been a Ridley fan for a while, must've been after Prime 1. I've since beaten all the Metroid games. I remember some of the characters i wanted made Brawl (Olimar mainly) but more characters i wanted didn't make it. I still remember i wanted Ridley, Animal Crosser (Villager as we called him back then), Isaac, Bowser Jr., Sukapon, and for Mewtwo to come back. Looking back at this list is kinda sad. I still want all of these but only got one so far

I assumed only the former was possible.

How anyone can see that part of the trailer and not fangasm at the thought of an armor-clad bounty hunter fighting a space dragon has always escaped me.

Supported him entirely on my own because I liked him, no trailer needed. Way back then though, I thought I was alone in thinking that. No one around me ever cared for that kind of thing, so I never thought he'd ever even be considered for the game. It wasn't until two years ago that I decided to check out this "Smashboards" place and found a whole community who felt the same way about him as me. Lurked for a whole year after before deciding to join.

I supported Ridley since after I knew he wasn't playable in Brawl. My naïve dreams were shattered, and I have reforged myself to dispense pirate justice upon the battlefields.

Up until recently I felt "Eh, it'd be cool if he got in I guess" for Ridley. It wasn't until shortly before the leak thread imploded (I initially joined here at the beginning of the Palutena leak craze) that I started to explore other sections of this site, including this place. Needless to say it didn't take long for Ridley to take his place as one of my most wanted characters (in fact he's my #1 choice now that Palutena's confirmed).
