Actually these fake titles are giving me ideas. I might actually go with the how I metroid your mother idea where Ridley is the father, Samus is the mother and THE BABY! is the kid. Any help with ideas for this fanfic is apreciated.
Ridley and Samus are going through a divorce and are fighting for child custody. Ridley then takes the baby and runs off starting the plot of Super Metroid.

That must have been surprising as a human having an alien dragon's baby and it turns out to be a metroid.

Another explanation for Ridley's flying if playable.

His Final Smash is a Waro-Man like transformation into Meta-Ridley, and he can fly.

Okay, from now on, every time Sakurai mentions size or hints at Ridley, I'm going to think of this song:

It's a rather chaotic song and plays during a chaotic mission in Watch Dogs, suits the situations well when it comes to Ridley teasers and aftermath.

Sakurai, why must you keep doing this to us? ._.

She later leaves him for Rundas.

After he tragically dies, she roommates with Anthony, though their relationship remains platonic.

what if Ridley's flying was like peaches float ability, then assuming he has that air grab gimmick that was mentioned, he stays stationary in the air, not as part of the float (or fly) when he grabs pikachu, then continues to fly/ float jumps (apparantly. I never actually saw that gif) of screen. That would take a little off the supposed air time.

An I allowed to be a Ridley supporter AND like the idea of a Rhythm Heaven rep?
Of Course! I like the Idea, and I'm sure it will because of the Sneaky Spirit. I DON'T Think it will be the Choir Boys, however. Marshal Makes far more sense to me, being the mascot of the game and all. It'd be like including, say, Dragonite, in the first game, but not Pikachu. weird, right? besides, the naming of certain characters in the gematsu leak was off (AC Boy, 6th Gen Poke'mon, and Mii officially being named Villager, Greninja, and Mii Fighters), so, maybe it's the 3 chorus men, but with their limited appearences, especially compared to Marshal, makes me lean more towards the latter.

MANDATORY RIDLEY

Metal Sonic is a cool dude...just not cooler than Ridley.

Or deserving a slot more than Ridley.

Or deserving a slot at all.
On that Note, I want a Metal Sonic Alt. for Sonic

That sounds like something Shokio would write. :awesome:

Besides :4charizard:
Of course, of course. Besides, Ridley's different to Charizard to the point where they could hardly be considered dragons of the same thread (hurr hurr thread because it's a Ridley thread, get it) anyway.

I suppose you have a point there with ganondorf, but he's at least been the final boss quite a few times. Ridley has never been the final boss. I'm not saying he's not the main villain, but I don't think he's quite as important to metroid as Bowser is to mario. Like when a new main mario game comes out, there's no question that Bowser will be in it, but with new metroid comes out, I just hope that Ridley is in it.
Ridley is easily the second most important character in Metroid canon, even more so then the metroids themselves. No Ridley=No Samus, so even if he is not the main villain of the series he is still the second most important character in Metroid, which means he should be playable.

And I'd find pictures of Medusa but I'm too lazy and don't want to wade through THAT part of the internet.

But Ridley is definitely a frontrunner if nothing else.

EDIT: Ridley IS the main villain of Metroid. Nobody else is NEARLY consistent enough for that title. :awesome:

I think you missed some of my posts. I'm a Ridley supporter, and I actually said a few times that he was the most important metroid character besides samus. All I was saying was that Ridley isn't at the same level as bowser like some people were saying.

Favorite Ridley fights

1. Meta Ridley: Prime
2. Ridley: Super Metroid
3: Ridley: Other M
4. Omega Ridley: MP3 Corruption
5: Meta Ridley: MP3 Corruption

--

On another note, who else would like to see Ridley show up in this so we can also finally have Ridley face off with Bowser, Ganondorf (assuming he's still in), and King Dedede?

Bowser, Ganon, Dedede, Medusa, K. Rool, Mewtwo, and Ridley would make for the greatest villain combination ever. It'll be fantastic. Or Ridley-riffic. Whichever you prefer.

EDIT: I'm not repeating it again, but ignoring Mario being a larger franchise, Ridley not being 'on the same level' is kind if bizarre. You have a character insanely connected to the protagonist on a personal level who has a lot of influence on the franchise. Even when he's not the main villain of an individual game, his influence is directly connected to the events of every game except for Prime Hunters.

Bowser is just a turtle with a better appearance record who kidnaps the same princess with astonishing regularity. Bowser is not the same grade of nemesis that Ridley is, not the other way around. Which is fine, but I'm just saying.

I meant the only villain from Metroid. At the time I made that comment people were talking about him not being "the Bowser" of Metroid.

I think you misunderstood. Ridley is definately the bowser of metroid, I was just saying that Ridley is not as important as bowser.

Someone also brought up Dark Samus and other Metroid villains. What ever it was, I was only talking about Metroid when I said the villain thing. (Still, sorry if I misunderstood!)

Important in regards to what? The only way this is going to turn out accurate is if you're talking about "Bowser is the villain of a significantly larger franchise", which is already understood.

This talk of the Baby Metroid and the Ridley and Rosalina shipping inspired me to write a little story, which describes the evets that led to the events of the Metroid Games. I'd like it if you guys could read it:

Ridley and Rosalina were living a somewhat happy and peaceful life together on her Comet Observatory, Ridley helping take care of the Lumas and acting as their Surrogate "Father." Then one day Rosalina got pregnant with Ridley's child, who through some weird gene mutation as a result of the mix of Human and Space Dragon genes, was the Baby Metroid.

All was fine and good with their life when one night, while Ridley was out on a raid with his Space Pirates, helping to teach everyone that Rosalina was the Queen of the Cosmos and brutally killing any critics, a bounty hunter, by the name of Samus Aran, happened to land on Rosalina's Comet Observatory, clearly a psychopath, she laughed maniacally as she gunned down Lubba who was driving the Observatory with the lasers of her ship. The Lumas panicked and ran, trying to hide and protect both themselves and pregnant Rosalina, who had just entered Labor. Samus landed, and proceeded to hunt down any Lumas in her sight, ensnaring them with her Grapple Beam and pulling them in to fire Super Missiles and Charged Shots down their throats. The surviving Lumas, in their panicked state, left a trail that was all too easy for the merciless Bounty Hunter Samus to follow, and she came upon them and Rosalina as they frantically tried to prepare an escape pod for Rosalina and deliver her baby. Backed into a corner, some brave Lumas charged at Samus, slamming into her with their bodies and pelting her with Star Bits, but it was all futile, the more they tried to attack, the angrier Samus got. Samus snapped, using a Screw Attack to shake the Lumas off, she grabbed the nearest one and pummeled it until stopped breathing. She then dropped a Power Bomb to take care of the rest, and as the dust and ash from the explosion cleared, all that was left was the charred remains of the Lumas and a whimpering and traumatized Rosalina who was sitting curled in the burning remains of the destroyed escape pod, frantically screaming and crying for Samus to stop her rampage, to spare her and her unborn child, and crying hysterically for her beloved Lumas to come back. Removing her helmet, Samus approached slowly, as a sadistic smile spread across her face, she stared down at Rosalina, her eyes darker than any Black Hole, and more evil than the Ganondorf. Grabbing a piece of shrapnel from the wreckage, she pinned Rosalina's arms under her feet, and set to the work she had came to do. Cutting through Rosalina's dress and then, her bloated stomach, Samus began the "surgery" to forcibly remove the Baby Metroid from Rosalina. Rosalina screamed and screamed, so loud that even Samus's insane laughter was drowned out, as blood spattered across her face and Power Suit as she carved deeper and deeper into Rosalina's stomach, eventually reaching the Womb. Samus cast aside the bloodied piece of shrapnel, and placing her freehand on Rosalina's chest for leverage, she used her Grapple Beam to grab and rip the Baby Metroid from Rosalina's stomach. Rosalina let out one last horrible scream, and then fainted from blood loss as she helplessly watched Samus walk away with her Baby Metroid, her eyes and face covered with tears as her vision slowly faded to blackness. Samus walked back to her ship, leaving the burning remains of what was once the proud Comet Observatory and the benevolent and now childless Queen of the Cosmos, Rosalina, unconscious and bleeding to death. Ridley returned from his raid all too late, and he held back tears as he walked through the Comet Observatory and past the bodies and ashes of his beloved Lumas. He eventually found Rosalina, lying dead in her escape pod, her stomach still open from Samus's "surgery." Ridley paused, not able to believe the sight before him, that his beautiful wife Rosalina was dead, and that his true child, the Baby Metroid was gone. He let out a cry, sinking to his knees, sobbing, as he was struck by the grimness and horror of the situation. He could not stop his tears as he sat there in a slump, grieving over his lost family and the Comet Observatory, which was still burning down around him. After he felt he could cry no more, he wiped his eyes, and making one final approach to Rosalina's body, he noticed something, a sentence, carved into Rosalina's skin: "I have taken your beloved Baby, let's see if you are capable of protecting even one member of your worthless "family", the one member I have spared, for now." Ridley knew immediately who it was, he had had occasional run-ins with this murderous psychopath, who had ties to a Chozo tribe that he had destroyed years ago. Although he never had a direct conflict with her, he had heard the stories of her sadistic treatment of her victims, the unlucky ones that inhabited the planets on which she landed and crossed her path while in space. Ridley let out a roar, and swore to his late wife, and to his family, that he would hunt down take revenge on the psychopath, Samus Aran, and save the last surviving member of his once proud, happy, and peaceful family.

Just a little something I decided to write that represents the backstory of Ridley, Rosalina, and Samus and serves as a precursor to all the events of the games. What do you guys think?

I brought this up earlier, but since we are speaking of Metroid enemies, it sucks that Other M took an idea as awesome as giving Mother Brain a human like android body and made it so incredibly lame. (I'm still advocating MB and Metroid as a Rosalina and Luma clone though, I mean Metroid villain right?)

Mewtwo is not a villain and Dedede hardly count as one nowadays. But yeah, having all of them in Smash would be noice.
Ew, Flying types.
Implying Pidgeot, Altaria, Moltres, Staraptor and Honchkrow aren't awesome.

Roidley's journal: Rosalina

I don't know what it is about that woman, but Big Bro acts so weird around her. This morning he pulled out a chair for her at the dining table. I know my Bro is the sweetest guy around, but I've never seen him like this before. Lately he's been shoving me away whenever she's around so that they can spend time alone together. It used to be just me and Big Bro, but now he's ignoring me for her. It makes me really sad...

I'm not saying Ridley is not the bowser of metroid. I was saying that he shouldn't be compared with bowser in regards to inconicness. Partly because of what you said, with the larger franchise, and partly because in most mario games bowser is the reason for the plot, and the goal of the entire game is to beat him. Like, say you had 100 people play the latest installment of both series, being 3dworld and other m, who had never heard of mario or metroid, then ask them who the villain was of each series was soley based on that game. All 100 would say Bowser is the villain of mario, but probably only 40 or less would say Ridley is the villain of metroid. A lot would probably say MB or mother brain, maybe some would say the deleter or even the federation in general. Then even look at the last few main instalments in both series. 3d land, new super mario bros u, etc, would have the same results. All 100 would say Bowser for each game. Metroid prime 3, probably even less would say Ridley than for other m. most would probably say dark samus/ metroid prime. Same with prime 2. No one would say Ridley after that one. Etc.

You and I and most everyone else on this thread know that big picture, Ridley is the main villain of metroid, but the average player, knowing nothing about the series going in, probably wouldn't say that Ridley is the villain of metroid. That's why I don't think he should be compared to Bowser as far as importance to their respective series. I'm not saying that Ridley isn't as important to metroid as bowser is to mario, but it's just less obvious, and thus not really comparable when talking to the average person/ detractor. I feel like I explained myself better that time. People keep misunderstanding what I'm saying. I hope I've finaly made myself clear.
