Important The Ridley for SSB4 Thread - End of an Era

They just shot themeselves in the foot by announcing ZSamus having her own slot and making the only other Metroid rep a AT(three in total now). If Ridley and Mewtwo aren't going to be in this game I'm just sticking to getting the 3ds version so i don't have to waste 300+ dollars for some unnecessary BS knowing Nintendo will put the wii u in the grave for this.

The Smash speculation scene has been a hot mess from the beginning. There have been countless close calls to disconfirmations. Toon Link among others, even Ness back pre-Brawl.

Predicting Sakurai is an extremely difficult task at times. This Direct is a great example of why.

Sakurai was trolling throughout the Direct. Particularly on Sheik and ZSS, even saying the latter would not return before showing her in-game and stating he was just kidding. After a very long time, Ridley is apparently a stage hazard/boss, but the thing is....why just show his shadow? What's so special about Ridley as a stage boss that he can't directly be shown? Especially after all this time?

I admit, we're in a similar situation to Toad supporters, and similar to the one that those who supported the return of Toon Link were for a time. But there is evidence that Ridley might still be playable in some form. I'm not saying we should suddenly go back to saying Ridley is extremely likely, or Toad for that matter, but there is still a bit of evidence that Sakurai is still teasing Ridley in some way. There are certainly precedents for similar situations, case in point: Toon Link on the Spirit Train. I admit, it doesn't mean as much for Ridley, considering that as a hazard, the clone Ridley would actually affect the match significantly by attacking, while Toon Link and Alfonzo just stand around.

But, with such surprising things going on, and with a little evidence left, there is a possibility that Ridley will still become playable. By no means is he likely at all, his chance is extremely slim. It's still not enough to completely disconfirm him.

Seriously though, I'm upset about this news, but I understand that Sakurai thinks Ridley is better suited as a boss character than a playable one. I don't think he's trolling here, I really believe he's just a boss character.

Know Sakurai is not messing about with the characters this time they all looked so detailed and he has put a but load of effort ibto changing them and naking them look like they have been ripped out of their canon games he is giving huge respect to all the All Stars.

Now think about this although evryting metroid in Sm4sh is based of Other M dont you think making Other M Ridley playable will go against what i said?

2. Argubly the worse Ridley design
3. (The BiGGest one) HE IS A CLONE!

I still have hope and what just happened is a confirmation of something many of us have speculated on before a theory that is very possible and accepted by people here as being logical and possible ever since the toon link alfonso thing.

Its just that is what has happened and yes its easy to say that and say you understand it but thinking and fantasies is a whole lot different to reality.

*1.* me personally judging how Respectful and detail Sakurai is giving all the Chars if he wanted Ridley playable i dont think he would make a ''Clone'' Carnation of Ridley playable it wouldnt seem right it would be weired and disrespectful to his character.

*2* Everyone has opnions and interprets information in diferrnt ways but something that alotta people are brining up right this moment is

Why tease so hard if there is nothing to hide? It just doesnt make sense imo however you look at it...sooo much teasing......for what? Everyone is just gonna think your a disrespectful douche if you tease this hard and he aint playable...hes blatantly hiding something its sooo obvious

Abit of my sight with my points thats my two cents man i just dont get the teasing theres no reason to that level of teasing if there is nothing to hide.

RealTalk man Ridley is playable and if he isnt i wont be imbarassed one bit it takes pride and confidence to stick with what you did believe in and there was no deconfirmation for Ridley anyway just for Roidley.

Toad is a species...Ridley is a character with a clone...two very different situations. And as narrow-minded as some wish to be, you can't look at me with a straight face and tell me that this purposely avoiding Ridley in mentions and name is normal.

Putting two and two together isn't hard here, Sakurai is definitely not telling us something. I'm still leaning towards another case of Tron Bonne Syndrome (Any player of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about)

It never hurt anyone to believe, now did it? To be honest, at this point, I'm more concerned for Mewtwo than Ridley. At least Ridley has hope, Greninja has really put me on edge when it comes to Mewtwo's inclusion, although...Charizard having Charizard X as his final smash gives me hope.

In a somewhat "good" side There were two Ridleys in Brawl (Meta was his own charcter dont deny it!). That version could be the alfonzo of the stage when regular Ridley is used on it. Also, seeing how ZZS has her own original design means the same could happen for Ridley as well.

This might have been mentioned, but you can clearly see Ridley's wing when he comes out on the top left corner. The wing definitely looks small enough for a playable character and if he truly is a boss hazard, I'm sure they would make him much bigger than that like in Brawl.

Sure we saw he was flying but we don't know if that is just his up smash or him jumping a lot since we only saw his tail once and for a few seconds instead of the same position when he just was flying in one place.

Also after watching the video a few times, I noticed Ridley's wings actually pass across the top of the screen for a brief moment.

This basically means he sits on the plain of the stage and isn't some background entity during this clip.
He actually gets down there and grabs Pikachu.

Point number one: the shadow does not behave like a boss. He seems to stop
and idle in the middle of the stage. It seems like someone is controlling him.

All bosses idle, dummy. That's how you hit them.
Also, Tabuu idled in the middle of the stage.
There IS precedent! ​

Point two: the design of Ridley's shadow corresponds to Meta
Ridley, not regular Ridley. Just look at the spikes on his wings.

Characters get redesigned all the time!
You Ridley supporters like to point that out when you downsize him,

Point three: Ridley's shadow was the only thing shown.
Why not show off Ridley himself? Why not just make the blow quick?
