Some people probably have already talked about this screenshot :

But aside of "**** size's debates", I love how this picture says "Don't give up, follow your dreams" too. ;)
Yes size is to not be judged

And I got one for team he can be resized

Bowser is almost and as big as mario 64 bowser when a boss

But when he's playable he shrinks

And that bee boss in mario galaxy is as big as a Titan as a boss

But then she's playable in mario kart 7 her hight is a big as toad

And here's the punch line has ridley ever ben playable nope. So he never ben playable so he never needed to be shrunk before.so why say hes too big when he's never ben playable in something. So if he is in SSB4 this would be the first time ever he's ever ben playable in a offical game.

Also, is basically all games, Bowser is much taller than Mario than Ridley is than Samus. So, sorry. Bowser has been dropped. :(

The argument about Ridley being too scary to use Bunny Ears and such is a terrible argument, too. That Ganondofr Picture proves that.

Really, nothing at all stands in Ridley's way here, except for Sakurai. He may not Always share our reason. But I do trust him.

We just have to wait and see.

EDIT: Aw, thank you for the likes. I hope that means I make sense for once. :3

Awww...beggers cant be choosers...but...

I really want SM/ZM Ridley not Duckbill....
I want that Ridley too (and his Meta and Omega forms) but, like other had said before, better have Duckface/Roidley than no Ridley at all.

I honestly don't mind the Other Ridley that much anymore. Not even his silly up-bent beak. XD Brawl Ridley looks much better of course, but... still.

I do expect Other Ridley if playable. I hope too many won't be disappointed.

It'd be great if Other Ridley were to be voiced by Donald Duck.

Oh... oh god, the images and SOUNDS in my head right now... I will never forgive you. I will force myself into the Mods' rooms and make myself a Mod so that I can ban you. That voice should not come from that character!

In all seriousness, I love you

Also, really, Other M Ridley's smaller head makes him look even bigger than he is, so that's Another plus.

I wouldn't mind Other M Ridley in Smash 4 (I have this thread to thank for that), but I personally still prefer the earlier look, like the Brawl look for example. But I wonder if a new, original model could/would be possible to be created for Smash 4? Like a mix of older designs and the Other M one. I've seen many people want something like that here, when it's to do with the Ridley's beak between the styles or something else like that.

This is what I pretty much expect to happen. It's not gonna be a raw version of that Other M model. I find it more likely that Sakurai would take the Other M Ridley concept art that looks much better and have a clean, consistent model created from that.

Brawl/Super Metroid Ridley is obviously the most iconic of his looks so I do feel it'd be the best design to pick in general because of that. However, I wouldn't mind Other Ridley, and it's most definitely going to be the one we're getting too since everything is Other M by the looks of it (except for Mother Brain, who didn't have a Other M model that didn't include the body.)

If it was entirely subjective though, I'd pick the Zero Mission design any day.

ZM Ridley looks really terrifying....looks pure evil.

I love it.

Any design really except fusions and Other M

What i found really strange, is, if the most recent zelda game was Skyward sword, why they choose the TP designs...what i think is that the SS ones were too....soft? i dont know....and I dont know why they cant put diferent looks (like if you were able to choose between: SS Link, TP and Oot with their own color palete, or choose between Other M Samus, Prime and the one from Brawl....)

Ridley would be perfect because of his many forms.....so, if you dont like Roidley, you can choose the other ones.....

the only one that had something similar was Wario, letting you choose between his biker outfit and the classic one.

Ridley looks at his best in the ZM cutscene where he is scene piloting(?) the mother ship. His clam demeanor really makes him look intelligent while still being a bad***.

I'm guessing it's because Ganondorf doesn't appear in Skyward Sword, so they're keeping the Zelda cast as TP in order for him not to fall behind. I think it's a pretty heavy indication that we won't see a Skyward Sword newcomer.

Yup, no doubts. Ridley has his best design in Zero Mission, even the color scheme in there make he looks more evil.

Good afternoon my fellow Space Pirates, hope you're all doing well. Ah, I see we're discussing our favorable Ridley designs. My favorite is, of course, the Super Metroid/Zero Mission look, take the best of both worlds (Zero Mission's color scheme and Super Metroid's design) and call it a day eh? But anyways, it's pretty clear that it's going to be Other M Ridley's that's playable this time around, and to be honest, he makes the most sense.

Not only because of the fact that a majority of Metroid merchandise in Smash 4 is Other M based, but to the fact that Other M Ridley overall gives the best possible options for a playable character. Compared to Super Metroid and Zero Mission, Other M Ridley's body is incredibly humanoid in design, and would be the easiest to design properly for playable character status. The less lanky proportions of his legs, arms and neck will also benefit a playable style better, and of course, this also goes to the fact that the Ridley clone in Other M is actually the smallest canon appearance Ridley has had, at a little over 12' tall, which is almost a quarter shorter than the average height he's shown at (Which has been anywhere from 13-19 feet tall). What's funny is that by comparing the size between Ridley and Samus from Other M normally and the scene in which Ridley grinds her along the wall in the same game, they actually made a seperate larger model so that this could work, because going on the basis of measurement to the characters in question, Ridley's about two feet taller than normal in said scene and goes back to normal once the cutscene attack ends...I'm not making this up, his size is so over the place that he changes sizes in between attacks.

Also, that Rabbit Ganondorf picture is hilarious.

Other M Ridley actually seems like it would be a little harder to animate to me. His proportions are akward. Unless Sakurai's team is using motion capture, then having a humanoid structure wouldn't make animation any easier. Ridley has two arms and legs just like most of the rest of the cast, so I honestly don't see why he would be any harder to work with.

I KNEW IT! Every time I see that fight, I feel like "Wow, Ridley is only a little bit bigger than Samus one the ground, they could totally make this work WOAH HE'S GRABBING HER AND HE'S HUGE WAS HE ALWAYS THAT BIG!?" And to think, that wall scene is the one all the anti-Ridley's use in their arguments...

Actually, that could be really good for a cinematic Final Smash... They could even use a larger model to help satisfy the too big crowd...

Yeah, I wish we could pull actual proof from the game that Ridley's size is a trick by the game. I remember posting a scene in this very thread of Samus standing over Ridley, and he does NOT look all that huge compared to other scenes.

Well between June 10th and 12th will be the Momment of truth obviously (guess whats on those days)
I wouldn't call E3 the moment of truth. Due to Ridley's lacking Japanese support and the current suspense regarding his inclusion, he could easily be saved for post-release as an unlockable, in fact that's what I'm counting on.

Not quite on topic, but your avatar is way cool. Definitely my favorite moment in the manga.

Speaking of which, I managed to find this familiar miiverse post...

https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAABAABnUYnWb9VV4Q

Translate it to English and you may find at least a few people actually wanting Ridley. Ridley himself is mentioned often enough as well, but like here, the post made people expect Ridley to be a stage hazard.

Edit - It's also because of looking at these post that I convinced myself to try and learn Katakana and Hiragana. Still in the process of fully memorizing Katakana, but so far so good. :)

That's interesting. Between a few things that pop up from Japan recently, namely Miiverse drawings, I think we might have underestimated their demand for Ridley. I'm not saying it's anywhere as big as it's over here, but I don't think it's as miniscule as we think it is.

I know the part of not being confirmed at E3 but as for the part lacking Japanese support

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

You do realize little mac lacked japan support and yet he's standing right there in the confirmed playable area and plus felicafan confirmed already little mac confirmation helps ridley because he was more wanted from the west and not japan so sakurai may be looking into world request now not just japan

I'm not saying it's a thing against his general inclusion, because it isn't, I'm saying it could mean that he won't be the E3 pick since he wouldn't create as much worldwide hype as someone like K. Rool would, and with a big event like E3 it's about choosing a newcomer who really counts.

You know diden't think like that Japan's picks on who to reveal ridley might not be revealed till after the game is released

But serious though it's still in Los angles which is in the west

I have a feeling he might be one of the characters revealed on E3, if there is more than one newcomer to be revealed at the event. Not to mention, I think a new Metroid game will be announced in June and Ridley revealed for Smash would be perfect to promote the game. If not, I still believe we will see him confirmed before the release, because of all the Pyrosphere teasing.

It's still a big worldwide thing, since there's so many new titles and so much new information being revealed. I'm not completely ruling out the possibility of a E3 reveal, because it's most certainly possible that he could be revealed there, so don't get me wrong on that, I'm just saying it's not necessarily the moment of truth like you called it. It could be when we get our answer, but it's not the 'be all, end all' moment
