Good afternoon my fellow Space Pirates, hope you're all doing well. Ah, I see we're discussing our favorable Ridley designs. My favorite is, of course, the Super Metroid/Zero Mission look, take the best of both worlds (Zero Mission's color scheme and Super Metroid's design) and call it a day eh? But anyways, it's pretty clear that it's going to be Other M Ridley's that's playable this time around, and to be honest, he makes the most sense.
Not only because of the fact that a majority of Metroid merchandise in Smash 4 is Other M based, but to the fact that Other M Ridley overall gives the best possible options for a playable character. Compared to Super Metroid and Zero Mission, Other M Ridley's body is incredibly humanoid in design, and would be the easiest to design properly for playable character status. The less lanky proportions of his legs, arms and neck will also benefit a playable style better, and of course, this also goes to the fact that the Ridley clone in Other M is actually the smallest canon appearance Ridley has had, at a little over 12' tall, which is almost a quarter shorter than the average height he's shown at (Which has been anywhere from 13-19 feet tall). What's funny is that by comparing the size between Ridley and Samus from Other M normally and the scene in which Ridley grinds her along the wall in the same game, they actually made a seperate larger model so that this could work, because going on the basis of measurement to the characters in question, Ridley's about two feet taller than normal in said scene and goes back to normal once the cutscene attack ends...I'm not making this up, his size is so over the place that he changes sizes in between attacks.
Also, that Rabbit Ganondorf picture is hilarious.
