I hope there's a Villains of Smash in Event Mode.I'll probably have some villain-only battles or something.
Great video as always. I think it's also worth mentioning that Little Mac is a representative of new series to Smash, while Ridley would represent one that's been present since the first game. Just from a character standpoint, adding in a character from an unrepresented franchise that is primarily popular in the West sounds a little less likely than adding in the second most important character from an already present series that is more popular in the West, at least the way I see it. But the bottom-line is still the same; Little Mac does help Ridley's chances quite nicely.
A new video just went out by moi discussing Little Mac's effects on American-loved characters, and as an added bonus, for those who didn't see it yesterday, I gave Ridley a Vacation around the Smash Bros stages to show what he'd look like on each stage and not just the Pyrosphere:
Great videos, but why didn't you put Ridley on the Nintendogs stage? That's one of the things I'm looking most forward to on the 3DS version. :/

I looked for pictures of said stage featured from a straight-on view, but found nothing. It's also why I couldn't put him on the Spirit Tracks stage either, or the Garden of Hope, or the Wii Fit stage.Great videos, but why didn't you put Ridley on the Nintendogs stage? The villain event battle does sound pretty awesome. Not gonna lie about that. Though, would Ike count as a heavyweight? If we had a heavy fighter event, I would put him on that list too.I hope there's a Villains of Smash in Event Mode.
Bowser, Wario, K Rool, Ganondorf, Ridley, Dedede, Wolf, Mewtwo...
And also, a Heavyweights Event (DK, Bowser, DDD, K Rool, and maybe Ridley).
I also hope Event Mode returns.

Ah, I see. I was thinking Ganon was already on that list too. Still, either one would make for a good challenge if you ask me.If you included Ike, you'd need to include Ganondorf.
When I mean Heavyweight, I was more talking about size. Such an event would then include the biggest characters (as I had listed). But I guess if you mean actual weight, then smaller characters could be included.
Good job i forgot little mac was more requested i. Usa than japan so little mac helps ridley because characters more loved in usa now have a chance because of little mac love it

Funny how I never thought what I would do as Ridley first in the game, but that is an overall good question. In order I guess I would:Always glad to help out a fellow Space Pirate in need!
So, when we finally get the moment to play as Ridley, what do you first plan to do with him?
For me, I don't know where to start but I have some things off the top of my head. I would first use him in training mode as a punching bag for Samus in revenge for all the years of torment he's given her, or try out all the stages (that is, the ones that are already unlocked) with Ridley in them as to get a feel to what it's like playing as him.
That is, if I haven't invited my friends to come over first. In that case, I would start playing as Ridley in group matches in them. I really, really like the concept of him being a heavyweight aerialist, because I myself play as a lot of floaty characters whenever I just want to have fun.
I would like to think I'd do this too, but with Pika being one of my main secondaries in the previous smashes, part of me feels like I'd be betraying him by doing that.Probably a Ridley VS Samus & Pikachu battle to avenge his defeat from Brawl.
Then probably train a lot with him so I would be able to use him as my second main.
Hoping you're right about the Miis and everything...See, it's actually for this very reason (in general) that I would believe Nintendo wouldn't allow Miis to be playable in Smash. It just seems to give way to some sort of abuse in the form of inflicting actions upon caricatures of other people. Somebody's bound to get offended at some point.
This is just how I think Nintendo would think. Maybe they've considered it and don't mind or will handle things as they come. Or perhaps they're oblivious to such a possibility (can't rule that out).
...
I know Ridley would approve though. As long as he's the benefactor. >_>
That would be the only way to ever top event match 51 from Melee. xDI hope there's a Villains of Smash in Event Mode.

Personally, I hope for a Sector 4 stage. It's very likely we'll get yet another Metroid stage with rising killer fluid in either version, so I'm hopeful the 3DS has a stage with electric water. Just to use something else aside from acid and lava. Not only its theme, but the boss Nightmare itself is extremely underrated. Not enough people talk about how thrilling is to see Nightmare's shadow randomly passing through the background in Metroid Fusion. There definitely should be a stage based on Metroid Fusion with the said boss as the stage hazard.
Yeah, that distorted flashback Samus has. Recolored background to make it stand out better. It's quite frankly "Samus's Trauma" in picture form. And nice new avatar man. Is that like a recolored version of that one flashback part from the manga that you did or something? Either way it looks awesome!
Yeah.Anyone remembers this image?
You forgot Charizard. If you included Ike, you'd need to include Ganondorf.

A Pink, alternate color Ridley made tiny with Poison Shroom. Holding a Star Rod. Having Bunny Ears. On the Nintendogs stage. Fighting Kirby, Jigglypuff and Peach.Dude I look forward to whacking people with the star rod on the nintendogs stage as Ridley. It will be the cutest thing ever.
Hmmm... interesting... maybe the Duck Hunt Dog has a better chance of getting Sakurai's attention since he is now looking into Nintendo characters who are more popular and/or iconic among American gamers... Duck Hunt was even bundled with the NES and Super Mario Bros., making Americans more likely to associate the NES Zapper with Duck Hunt. Huh! Would be pretty interesting to get an American retro character like the Duck Hunt Dog to contrast with the Japanese retro character like Takamaru...

here you areOne day I was able to enter Sakurai's Miiverse page with my computer strangely, and I saw Rosalina's page, and Sakurai show's what pictures are her actual moves....later i was not able to see it again....maybe with the Wii U you could check the page and look for Zelda's moves
Is that an official site, or just a very well put together fan site?here you are

Me too....that text at the bottom made me feel confused....what did they mean that it is no affilieted with nintendo if it is Sakurai's Miiverse page????I Always thought it was the official dojo
I remember from reading in the interview about the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising, that Masahiro Sakurai was planning to use SSB4 to bring back characters who had been forgotten by modern-era Nintendo.Hmmm... interesting... maybe the Duck Hunt Dog has a better chance of getting Sakurai's attention since he is now looking into Nintendo characters who are more popular and/or iconic among American gamers... Oh, and Pac-Man too... America seems to love Pac-Man more than Japan does... we get Saturday morning cartoons, Pac-Man Fever hit song, and the arcade machines are even in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and New York's Museum of Modern Art...
It would also be awesome if Sakurai looked into StarTropics and added Mike Jones...
Adam Riley: You have mentioned how you like to breathe new life into forgotten franchises. Now that Kid Icarus has been completed, what other old classic would you like to look at? Ice Climbers, Star Tropics,MoleMania…or something non-Nintendo?
Sakurai-san: I am planning on doing my best to bring old characters back in Smash Bros. From that perspective, I am probably in the most fortunate position in the world.
That's another reason why I want Ridley playable. People against him say that he would be too "serious" or "scary" to small children (which I find idiotic because I loved him even as a little kid), so I want to have him go against Ganondorf and Snake (if he's playable) on the Nintendogs stage full stop. It's just a hilarious thought.Dude I look forward to whacking people with the star rod on the nintendogs stage as Ridley. It will be the cutest thing ever.
Do people seriously use that as an argument against Ridley? Because that "scare factor" certainly didn't stop him from being a boss in Brawl... twice... where he would be much more terrifying than if he was actually playable...That's another reason why I want Ridley playable. That argument jumped off the window the very second Mother Brain was confirmed as an assist trophy. That's another reason why I want Ridley playable. I remember it being used on this very website, yeah. I wasn't registered yet at the time that I remember, but people pointed out that he wouldn't be any less out of place than Solid Snake.Do people seriously use that as an argument against Ridley? Best picture ever. I laugh every time someone posts it.
It's really quite funny how this rather hilarious picture actually supports Ridley, more than you would think. So many people argue that having Ridley playable in Smash, and therefore, shrunk down some, would totally kill his character and threatening nature, would be totally disrespectful to the character, #thatain'tRidley, blah blah blah. But... look at this. I mean, this is a game that is fine with the ultimate lord of darkness running around with bunny ears and a flower stick while getting beat up by flying pink marshmallows. How is that not stupid while shrinking down Ridley is?
