Sure he's teasing him for the fans. But after seeing this roster, Sakurai seems dumb enough to think we'll be happy with a stage boss.

I think I have come arcross a revelation that would impact his chances greatly. Correct me if wrong but the leaked stage pictures did not have the pyrosphere meaning its an exclusive to the Wii U. We know that Dr Wiley stage is on the 3ds version so it will definitly utilize the Stage boss hazards, so why exclude that stage....

....This is asuming of course the wii u has other stages with boss hazards but still why just import the MegaMan stage instead of a diffrent stage like Pacman.

First of all, this has been brought up before. But it's still a decent point.
On the other hand, it's POSSIBLE Sakurai made Ridley a Wii U exclusive boss (and maybe has a few other big differences between versions) to give incentive for us to buy both Wii U and 3DS Smash.

But.... I really don't think that's the case.

With about a week and a half left until the fate of all is released, the hype is getting more intense!

Add me to the list. We need to show that the Ridley Space Commanders are still as Strong as ever!

I know we talked about Alts for Ridley, but I wanted to bring this up. How many alts/costumes do you think we will get for Ridley? Providing one is his default (Purple), and three others would have to be Red, Blue, and Green (for team battles), how many more could we get? Also, please tell me what those colored costumes represents, as I'd like to know which game they came from. ^^

Starting to wonder when and where we could see the potential remaining reveal trailers, may sound like a stuck record but I'm convinced Ridley will get one if he is playable. We have some "shocking news" later today which is being live streamed if I remember correctly. But after no reveal after the Hyrule Warriors direct and this being about detective Pikachu by the sounds of it, I don't see any reveal, never mind a Ridley one, but hope I'm wrong.

For those having doubts on it being the full roster...it's not, All-Star Mode is locked, so Ridley's still got a fighting chance.

Edit: Interesting note, it's now going in order of the character's debut, not the franchises' debut...which I like alot more.

It is possible that Sakurai INITIALLY considered Ridley for a stage boss.......but after the Ridley character request response after the August 2013 POTD, he decided to change plans and add the Space Dragon in the roster......Here are two points:

1) CHANGE OF PLANS ALREADY HAPPENED WITH CHROM: Sakurai quoted that initially he considered adding Chrom in the roster but scrapped the idea since Chrom would be just another blue swordsman...and decided to add Robin instead, saying that Robin would be similar to a "Mystic Knight" from Final Fantasy.

Now I am not saying this is a bad move, on the contrary, if the game is delayed that would give Sakurai and the SSB4 crew more time to polish the game....and maybe add some new PRE-UNPLANNED CONTENT ....You know who I'm referring to.

The game is coming soon......and it would mean the world to me, and all of Metroid fans in this thread, if the Space Dragon would join the fight alongside Samus as a proud Metroid Representative.

haven't other games also done this? I'm sure DK tropical freeze was delayed for the same reason

Sakurai never said gliding was cut all together, only for pit, and MK was confirmed not to have it either. I see it being a Charizard exclusive now, as we haven't seen Charizard in action. Ridley seems to float, we see Peach floating in the Palutena trailer
