When today's PotD surfaced, Sakurai didn't directly state his exact role (The Sable Prince that is), leaving us to ponder what his role his. Then he tweeted that the Sable Prince will in fact be an Assist Trophy. After the whole Ridley shadow debacle of the April Direct, Sakurai could've went his way and announce what Ridley's role is in the game, but he didn't... This is one of the main reasons why I think Ridley is playable. It's just TOO SUSPICIOUS.

Well, I'm sure this has already been thoroughly discussed several pages back, but I do think that today's update is just further evidence in Ridley's favor. The fact that Sable was revealed and then officially called an Assist Trophy in a Twitter update is even better, really. It's another instance of Sakurai not being 100% clear about a character's role, and then clarifying immediately afterwards to avoid confusion.

It's a good day for Ridley.

They've done it the day before several times. It's usually a few days notice though, but rarely a full week.

Well, since a lot of detractors claim that a downsized Ridley "ain't Ridley," maybe not. There's also the fact that so many people have argued so strongly against him, so hurt pride may prevent them from accepting him.

I had the greatest idea for a way to "shrug off" the "TOO BIG" arguments while insulting said party for bringing up such a stupid point.

When someone quips "Ridley is too big" say "this is Smash Bros., not the UFC."

Not only it just make sense, but my tease theory says that he'll almost act like he would never made that tease by not talking, not commenting on the tease and most importantly, will deny to acknowledge the existence of the tease.

So, he'll just ignore the question or dodge it. Expect no response until reveal.

Nah, not even that.

He'll answer with a bunch of extra talk about the stage bosses. How they were designed, where their inspiration came from, what sorts of trouble they gave in development (probably a lot on that one). He might even talk about troubles Ridley gave in development along those same lines. But he won't come out and say "Ridley is a stage boss". He'll imply it, heavily, but completely dodge the question.

I said "ignore" OR "dodge".

If he dodged, that's ok. For me, dodging is like not answering.

But I would be interested to have answers to the questions you said anyway.

Absolutely. But everyone would walk away from that discussion crying "Ridley is just a stage boss" even louder. Except for the people who actually pay attention to what Sakurai says.

I even see him doing that because on the closed door round table, he said to not ask about new characters.

Imagine if one breaks that rule, he'll be upset if it was for Ridley.

So old news, but this Prince Sable thing definitely just boosted Ridley immensely.

He doesn't mention how Prince Sable is an assist trophy, people get hype and think he's a possible newcomer. Sakurai clears up the confusion.
