Normally, I would go into a fit of rage, but I can't do this right now. Besides, it would be off-topic and I don't want to reroute the Ridley thread again.

My point is gameplay-wise Charizard doesn't properly use his skillset IMO. He should use more fire-based attacks and less weird Mewtwo rip-off moves (like Shadow claw) and more moves that "fit" Charizard, the character, better.

I feel Brawl Charizard didn't do that.

My ultimate claim is that Charizard's moves were just poorly utilized and his move selection was somewhat poor. It is very fixable, but I feel that a bit of it won't be fixed (Link has similar issues IMO).

What's funny is the way Ridley could be the worst designed would be if he got the skillset and movepool Charizard should have, lol.

I love how people jump up and claim I have a biased opinion for believing Ridley is playable.

That is a bias though. In fact, the opposite view is a bias.

If you don't have a bias, you don't have an opinion, you are a robot, and thus your opinion doesn't exist.

What bothers me is the possibility that Sakurai think's we'll be hyped about Ridley being a stage boss like we were with Yellow Devil.

That's the thing, people weren't hyped for the reasons he probably thought they were. Most people were over-the-top excited for Mega Man's inclusion and his home stage, of course. But then when we realized Yellow Devil wasn't just a boss, but a hazard, everyone's hopes for the stage immediately sank.

The E3 invitational and gameplay vids pretty much solidified that the stage is an unfortunate case of good idea, bad implementation.

I saw better Ridley images. Like "Phazon Ridley" or one of those "Metroid Bestiary" images used for Metroid Database. This one looks kinda...um...don`t remember how it was called...anyway, just look at his eyes...

Literally it exposes Charizard for one of the worst designed characters in Smash history.

You forgot about Ganondorf turned into Falcondorf and then (the worst part about that) into Falcondork. And EVERY SINGLE CLONE WHO IS NOT LUIGI because what else he can do and his brother can`t COUNTS AS A BADLY DESIGNED CHARACTER NO MATTER HOW GOOD ORIGINAL CHARACTER IS. They may have different animatons and attributes for attacks, but they still have very similar moveset and are pointless. At least since Brawl, there is less obvious clones...except for Lucas. And LAHNDMASTAR. But THE worst clone is Pichu of course. It is even worse that original character (Pikachu). So, Charizard is not even close to them.

Anyway, why would Sakurai tease something that has been done many times in nearly every game where Ridley appeared, but more annoying and on a larger stage with smaller Ridley? Wouldn`t it be better to tease something that has never been done or at least not so many times like that Mii dragon thing or other bosses?

Oh...internet won`t be the only thing to burn. I said Charizard is one of the worst, not THE worst. His moves are somewhat disjointed, his moves and skillset don't quite work, and his playstyle is all over the place without any basis. He doesn't have enough fire moves.

Ganondorf was pretty cool in Melee and he wasn't as bad as people think he was in Brawl. Plus his moveset was borrowed from Captain Falcon, one of the most exciting and best made characters.

Toon Link had like no issues, lol. The only problem is that he was better than Link at everything, and that Link is irrelevant. The same is true with Roy being a all-around weaker version of Marth in Melee.

Falco is Smash 64 Fox, and along with Fox and Pikachu, is 1 of the 3 best most well designed characters in smash.

Here's the thing about those issues with the characters I listed and Charizard's issues: they can all be fixed in Smash 4, easily. And even if they aren't, patches exist.

If Ridley gets in, and he has issues, he can be fixed (and hopefully he is).

I read that link as "Super Smash Bros 5: Characters Could be Revealed" and got confused.
But yeah that pretty much just lists the top 5 generally most wanted characters, which is nice. (4 of those are on my sig too)

I'm trying to get it out there that he has tried to blindside us before, as the person I was replying to said that Sakurai would never want to trick the fans. Do you know how many people thought that was Mewtwo? The point basically is that Mewtwo is one of the biggest hoped for characters (along with Ridley of course, but for some reason people have more faith in Mewtwo), and Sakurai basically said "" and then pulled the bag over us Pokemon fans' heads. I wasn't saying anything about hinting at all, just that Sakurai basically gets 3 years per decade to be the biggest troll in the gaming industry.

And now,

I don't know how big of a Pokemon fan you are (if at all, idk) but I'm going to pretend that none of you are at all.
Most Pokemon fans know that psychic energy in the Pokemon games basically comes in two colors: blue and pink.

Mewtwo has demonstrated the ability to use both types of Psychic Energy, so the blue water in Greninja's trailer could very well have been blue Psychic if it were in fact Mewtwo.

Probably in no small part to his rising roles in Metroid. He went from recurring boss in two games to main antagonist of at least one and VERY THOROUGHLY recurring boss. I went into that in some post a while back, but yeah.

EDIT: Charizard, Dedede, and Wolf all got promoted too. So did Villager.

EDIT 2: I guess technically Wario, Pit, and Meta Knight were all promoted from just being trophies.

One day later, I actually thought about it and calmed down. My belief in Ridley being in the game is absolute.
