Thanks John. Needed to read something like that to lighten the mood.
Good, because I had that saved for a rainy day, but I didn't finish the last 2/3rds, and that part alone took 20 minutes. :shades:

Anything to save my Ridley thread. Now that Mega Man is confirmed, Ridley has been bumped up to my #1 most wanted newcomer status (K. Rool is #2).

Also, more Ridley poetry, John inspired me

There once was a space pirate dragon
He roared, and drank from a flagon
He watched from above
as fans gave their love
Lets all join the ridley bandwagon!

(limericks are the only poems I know >.>)
:crying: Beautiful. :crying:
Oasis brought up a point about Samus potentially being "shrunk" due to Other M, and as such, Ridley doesn't need to be too much smaller.

The perfect comparison would be that group clip of Samus, Pit, and Link in that Developer video Sakurai made and compare their sizes to each other in Brawl.
Maybe Samus did get a bit smaller.
Ridley confirmed! :awesome:

Also, I did notice that in the opening for each character (trailer-ception; I CALLED IT!!!) that there were certain parts that looked "shortened" or "cut out". Samus' scene was among these. It looked like Samus' scene may have been cut short due to what she was shooting at appearing or coming on screen.

If you notice in that opening, it is very similar to Melee's opening, ON PURPOSE!!! In Melee's trailer, Samus shoots at Ridley, before he gets hit by a missile, and it cuts to the next screen. It is my opinion that if this part of the trailer (which is probably part of the game's opening) is indeed longer, Ridley will be in it, and it will present him as a playable character, and that he probably gets shot at her, dodges her, and then charges her and the two go at each other and the scene cuts.

It just seems like these scenes are too short for this kind of CGI effects, unless the opening has like 40 characters playing from the get go, or it is planned to come out after the 3DS Smash (and have all the characters automatically unlocked/known to most smashers), which makes the most sense.

I'm not sure what to think on those intros.
To me, they just seemed like mini-introductions towards the main characters in question per series.

I still maintain that Ridley is likely to get in Smash 4 and I'd be pretty surprised to see him left out. At the very least, I'm far more confident in Ridley's inclusion than I was with Mega Man within the last couple of months or so before his confirmation, so I have a good feeling in regards to him.
I guess we're just prone to be a bit pessimistic regarding the characters that we're incredibly hyped for.

While I wanted Mega Man I saw his chance of inclusion as 100%, no way around it, and I said so multiple times before the trailer in the Mega Man thread.

However, with Ridley, I'm always a bit nervous, and that probably comes from the enormous dissapointment that I had with him not being on Brawl's roster. I guess we just don't want to set ourselves up for an enormous dissapointment again, and thus we choose to focus on some negative points while they're actually minimum. Ridley is probably almost guaranteed, but I can't help but feel that he is far from it, probably because I can't imagine how amazing it'll be to play as him.

It's funny, before the trailer you seemed quite sure that Mega Man had a lot going against him, and you were unsure about his inclusion, while I was 100% sure of his inclusion. I guess the roles are switched now, and let's hope that Ridley follows Mega Man.

I think Samus' intro was just cut short to go with the music.

There's always you-know-who. :awesome:

So damn cute.
Kill it, Kill it with your plasma beam.
Uh, I mean All HAIL OUR (FLUFFY) LEADER !

Anyway, since Sakurai did say that he have seen a lot of fans requests when he talked about the Wii Fit Trainer, he must now know how much he is wanted both as a character and as a metroid representative.
If anything with this I don't see how Sakurai will not at least consider him as a playable character this time before jumping to the Assist Trophy/Boss conclusion.

SSB4 is probably the biggest chance he had since the very beggining of the smash bros. franchise.

Yes, but don't they seem a bit short=??? I mean, unless there's lots of them, or characters in the opening of Smash Wii U are gonna be shown after the "initial opening" (notice that Bowser was left out?), it doesn't make sense why they seem so short.

Still, if they are just cold openings for about 1 character per about 8-12 franchises, this hypothesis is mine. I'm just merely stating is it looks like Samus is CLEARLY fighting Ridley (notice where she's aiming; about equal level with her body), and remember that in the Melee opening, she fought Ridley. Just that pose alone, even if none of that is true suggest Ridley. There's no way that Sakurai or anyone could have that kind of oversight, especially with the Melee trailer. Just think about that, sit on that, and add it all up. If they really wanted to make it clearly about Samus, they'd do a shot like they did with Link (him standing alone), or they would have had her do a cool entrance viva la Metroid Prime (1).

Of course, all of this is null and void if this is not actually a part of the opening for Smash Wii U, which I am positive it is. After all, why would you waste all your time making CGI intros for all those scenes and characters if you are only going to use them once=???

Ermm i dunno were to Start....i love Ridley he is my #1 most wanted character in Sm4sh with Mewtwo & K.Rool very shortly behind.

When i first played through Metroid Prime and you kill the Parasite Queen and evacuate and you see
Meta Ridley scream and blow up the site !! MY GOD I CUMMED
SO HARD!

2Q==.jpeg

He looks to god damn sick i might not have been supporting Ridley as long as PeePz like Oasis & ChronoBound mainly because i didnt and had no intrest in general in joining any game websites i wasent a forum kinda guy and i was younger and goofier back then.

A few points i wanna add.

#1 I absoultly love how the Ridley & K.Rool fanbase respect each other and get along and that most Ridley supporters are K.Rool supporters too and vice versa it really brings love and harmony and civilization to this website and to a extent ''Shapes'' this forum in bliss/respect & Hype as the 2 biggest baddest most popular true Nintendo All-Star Villians left that are like 15+ years old.

It easily could have been a disgusting blood fued between the two.

#2 I like that assumption someone brought up about the cutscene Samus thing it is very possible like Sakurai made a Epic orgasm worthy CGI trailer of all the chars in the whole game but cut each parts out for said char reveals. Maybe we can unlock the whole scene in the game aftee completing the adventure mode? Or every newcomer revealed is another peice to the jigsaw or it could just be what GoldenEntei said just a scene.

#3 As many PeePz have already said i acknowledge Ridley not getting in as a very real possibilty im sorry for being a buzz kill...i mean no...harm....just tryna remind you guys and ofc i think we all can agree that althougg our expert series and canon knowledge and revelancy knowledge is Sakurai's Logic = Well....ask WFT.....so yh.....

bowser usually turns into a giant normally from hoarding some form of fabled power source: stars, shine sprites, star rod, ect..
he seems to have a "normal" size now from what I can tell over the past few years.

I cant say that about Ridley though, but best of luck to him anyway right?
They won't listen to that, even though it's true. Bowser changes size by using magic, Ridley doesn't. They ignore this fact every time it's brought up, and then accuse me of not paying attention to their arguments.
By the way, we're not Ridley haters. I'd enjoy seeing Ridley in SSB4 too. We're arguing the logistics of it. It's not impossible, but it's not likely either.

And everyone in Smash changes size because they're trophies, not the actual character. They change the size of characters to whatever works the best. The bottom line is that if Sakurai wants it, he'll make it work. It has absolutely nothing to do with "magic". The reason characters change size is because they're making a Nintendo all-stars fighting game, not because of some sort of perceived "cannonicity".

Bowser has been different sizes with no magic involved.
Magic is no excuse.

Typically, magic only applies to when he goes Kaiju size for final showdowns. At which point, Bowser dwarfs Ridley even at his largest. Even in Brawl, where his Giga Bowser form is bigger than Ridley.

And if magic is an excuse, it's an excuse for how I popped *insert 1 Ridley hater who posted but I blocked their account* some fun time with their mom. ;):smirk: :p :awesome:

Ridley is also by far the smallest boss in Brawl.

That is unless you think Porkey outside of his machine (which he never leaves) is a boss for whatever Silly and not Strong reason.

im just saying that it made Da' BOwz a bit more acceptable as a character, and could be easily used as a point of reference for developers.
who knows, maybe they'll have a completely different ridley we haven't even SEEN before. kinda like how wario uses a moveset based on a game that wasn't released yet.
so theres always that.

Did I say it was impossible? No, in fact I've been saying it is still a possibility. Just not a very good one, given the scheme of things in both series. And there is a strong degree of canonicity for Bowser's size changes, and granted it is loosened up in Smash Bros, it is unlikely they can stretch Ridley that far unless they really really wanted to make him playable. As I've said it contradicts everything about Ridley's design aspects so far in both Metroid and Smash.

Since Johnknight has me ignored then I guess he won't mind if I tell him he's been spewing mostly incoherent dribble, throwing uncalled for insults at the slightest reflex like a monkey tossing its **** and seriously needs some mental help.

I hope there's a trailer that shows Ridley immediately and for a minute or two, but at the end he's destroyed and replaced by some bounty hunter who's the newcomer :troll:

Not sure that's entirely accurate.
I'm pretty sure the Hands and Tabuu are smaller.
I wasn't thinking of the Hands as a boss, but eh, I guess you're right. As for Tabuu, I think if you take away Ridley's wings, I think he's definitely smaller. Plus, Tabuu's wings are much better anyways (although those aren't always out, and like Ridley's wings, I don't think you can hit them), so yeah.

Besides that, I don't really remember Brawl's adventure mode anyways. I'm not sure anybody does because it was as lackluster as it could have been.

Only one way to settle this; ask M&SGuy to make a comparison between the two. :troll:

For as much as I want Ridley, I think that Metroid is seriously overdue for another representative and I'd be happy to see anyone. Ridley's just clearly the most deserving Metroid character, and I'm not sure if any of the other humanoid Metroid characters are destined to be in another game. The other Hunters have had a few opportunities to make another appearance, but no dice.

As unlikely as it seemed, they're on Tanabe's mind as of today.

I think Sakamoto would use Anthony or the Colonel again. The next post-Fusion game needs an ally and an enemy in the Galactic Federation, according to the ending.

Well... there ya go. Yeah, that's awesome, I would love to see an expanded Metroid universe. It'd be good to see what people in the universe think about the famous Samus Aran, intergalactic Bounty Hunter. It could be sort of like Mass Effect where it is obvious that your character has become absurdly famous.

You could go around exploring different planets to collect power ups, allies with different functions, and power ups for your allies to give them even more functions. And then play them in multiplayer, sure. :)
Agh. I do really like Metroid.

And, also like Mass Effect, I would really want Jennifer Hale to come back to voice Samus in the future. I know the VA for Other M Samus was directed to perform in a way I dislike, but I really like Jennifer Hale's badass space soldier.

Which part? Definitely not joking about Jennifer Hale returning to voice Samus again.

And definitely not joking about wanting to see an expanded Metroid universe and how it would be cool to get some sense of how famous Samus is around the Galactic Federation. Throughout Prime you get a great sense of how she's seen as a terrifying boogey (wo)man by the Space Pirates through scanning logs.

About her going around collecting allies? Yeah, pretty much just throwin' shiz out on that one.

She voiced Samus very well. I'd like her back, especially to get whiny Samus out of my head.

I wouldn't mind a part of a game (say a prologue) featuring some other fellow bounty hunter/Galactic Federation member fighting alongside her, but she should always be the main character. Maybe you could spend part of a game "Build up" a character, only to switch to Samus, and then have like God-like powers in comparison, and revisit areas but be able to go to new parts of them.

This could hark upon her legacy, and even have some people mention they think she's a man!
