The Realisticness of Pokemon Moves

Basically, this. What is the realisticness in Pokemon types and moves and how can it be explained if it were to happen in real life?

Categories:
*Very uncomplicated and explainable process
@Complicated but explainable process
^Pure Magic:rotfl:

So, here's what I came up with for some moves:

*Tail Whip: Totally self-explanatory.

@Solarbeam: A batch of cells on the Pokemon gathers sunlight and quickly become energized. The Pokemon is completely unable to move while the energy is gathered via a type of photosynthesis, while cells rapidly multiply for the upcoming event, and BAM! The cells on the Pokemon smash together and go through a chemical process that releases a bright and flammable gas while rapidly heating up to let loose a jumble of solar powered explosions that cooks the opposing Pokemon if they are close enough. Because of the loss of the extra cells, though, the Pokemon is not too hurt, and can keep fighting the next turn.
Basically, the Pokemon absorbs the energy and cooks up an explosion.

@Hyper Beam: Same as Solar Beam, except powered by how much energy the Pokemon has, and the Pokemon must repair itself after it has used the attack.

*Vine Whip: Extensions of the Pokemon that act like long, flexible rods.

*Earthquake: The Pokemon smashes a part (or all) of itself into the ground and quickly vibrates to produce an earthquake. It must be pretty strong, though.

^Shadow Ball: The Pokemon quickly warms the air in a certain area (by emanating intense body heat from its hands for example) and...
Well, forget it. This is magic. :rotfl:

@Spark: When touched during the tackle, the Pokemon goes through a de/polarization process within its body (similar to an electric eel), and electricity is produced where the impact site is. Voila! Shocked Pokemon!

*Endeavor: The Pokemon goes totally berserk and Super Saiyan on the opposing Pokemon victim and tears them up like there's no tomorrow. Every hardship, every wrongdoing, is now being corrected. "Let the Mewtwo feel my pain!" says Rattata!

So, does anyone have any other moves they'd like to add or talk about? :)

@Flamethrower - Creature has jet's built into the inside of their cheeks (fortified by powerful bonding cartilage) that spray a natural, flammable liquid of gas that reacts with another super-heated substance that can easily be coughed up without gagging (pp would regulate how much of this substance the creature contains) so that a stream of fire is created and propelled upon the two substances reacting. It would basically be a very advanced form of the snake venom concept in that it's essentially two highly reactive types of proteins meeting in a high-pressured squirting fashion.

@Fire Blast - Works similarly to Flamethrower, but is exerted by five different built in "jets" so that it creates the form that it does. This innately raises its power since it's activated by more muscles. This explains why its pp is much lower, because it takes much more of these liquids to use just one attack.

*Ember - Might as well add this too. Basically just a much smaller version of Flamethrower.

Hydropump - The creatures body uses the hydration within it into one spot. It then focuses it into a part of the body that has a potential opening. It then uses it's body to pressurize the water for release. The creature then concentrates all of it's energy onto one spot releasing the highly pressure water on it's opponent.
Surf - The pokemon concentrates all available precipitation and water molecule into one spot. With the hydration from itself it mixes the hydration with the other water in the area. All of this hydration slowly mixes faster and faster until it becomes a huge body of water. With it's energy the pokemon then focuses the body of water onto whoever.
water gun - The pokemon builds up a small amount of hydration from within it and pressurizes it. It then quickly shoot's the pressurized out from it's mouth hitting the opponent.

Will-O-Wisp would work similar to these as well... and maybe even Blast Burn

^ Yeah, I didn't think of those. I tend to forget most things after the 1st and 2nd Generations, and if those are from that time, then by golly, I've drifted far.

The Pokémon flops around in little to no water producing a very non-threatening attack that doesn't hurt its opponent.

Houndoom's pokedex info states that when someone is burned with his flamethrower the pain inflicted never goes away. someone care to explain that one?

@ Hyper Voice: The Pokemon emits a loud noise at a frequency that nusts ear drums and is capable of shattering solids. The user avoids damage by creating a focused sound-beam.

* Close Combat: The Pokemon lessens the space between it and its foe, and lets loose a flurry of blows that uses all of the Pokemon's limbs (hands, feet, tail, wings, etc.). The high-power of this move doesn't come from the actual force behind the blows, but the number of them. Of course, because of the amount of energy used in such a short time, the move has low power points, and leaves the user open to attacks.

* Stone Edge: A large stone is drawn from the ground, and used to slam into opponents. The low accuracy on this move could be due to the fact that the users needs to get the stone out of the earth, giving the target plenty of time to prepare for the attack.

In-doors, I suppose the Pokemon could be using a peice of the floor, though that seems a bit Farfetch'd. (Hur hur hur.)

^ Wish:

@ Fire Punch: The user has a gland on its knuckles, which are capable of producing a gas that ignites when it comes in contact with air. The flames don't add much hurt, but can cause burns. I'm guessing that Pokemon who can use this move have flame-retardant skin, or something.

@/^Rain Dance: The pokemon dances to summon percipitation. Or it could just be near water and just quickly evaporate and condense the water (only problem with this is that the pokemon who learn rain dance usually have no way of evaporating).

@Thunderpunch: A punch wouldn't exactly produce thunder, but any movement your body makes produces minute amounts of electricity. So in theory if you can make an extremely fast movement with immense force (kinda given with the fast movement), you can produce enough electricity to essentially shock an opponent.

No, it's MAGIC:rotfl:

*Flash Cannon: The Pokemon, if already coated in something metallic or shiny, concentrates heavily and wiggles around rapidly, performing a stunning dance in such a way that the light reflects off the Pokemon and bounces around the room or directly toward the other Pokemon, converging at one spot, blinding and burning them in that spot. This move takes a lot of energy, though.
The second way to perform it is to coat yourself in something shiny (maybe saliva) and do the same dance.

*Quick Attack: The Pokemon spontaneously runs up to the opponent and attacks with whatever force is behind their run. There is no method to this run; it's just a mad rush to get there first before they are attacked.

Pokemon Types:
How can a Pokemon be a Steel type? Could it just be from tons of vitamins and minerals the Pokemon gets, along with geothermal energy for an energy source, or it it MAGIC:rotfl:

It's probably something like a beetle's exoskeleton, but much harder.

^Stealth Rock: Pointed rocks hovering the air probably are magic.
@Spikes/Toxic Spikes: User creates natural structures within the body that may or may not be coated in poison.
@Ice Beam/Blizzard/Aurora Beam: User sprays water such as during Hydro Pump and chills it with their body heat to freeze the opponent.

Well I mean, it's a fantasy world, so applying to the real world would be like saying that they're skin developped, in the same manner that there are different races IRL.

While we're on types.

Dark Type : The Pokémon are emo? Like the dark? Are a dark color? Are innately evil? This one is harder on my brain than the steel type =X!

lol

I think that all ice/cold-based moves must be magical. If I recall correctly, you can't make cold; only take away heat. I'm not sure if an animal has that capacity with only its body.

Cold-Blooded Animals may be able to drop their body temperature enough to shoot water with ice particles inside of it, albeit damaging the attacker. =/

That'd have to be one durable cold-blooded animal to avoid freezing itself to death. :ohwell:

*Selfdestruct/Explosion: The Pokemon using it is a suicide bomber with 80 or 100 (respectively) sticks of TNT hidden behind it whenever it enters battle.

Focus FALCON Punch
A Falcon Punch can be carried out by any individual with sufficient testicular fortitude, not just Captain Falcon. A successful Falcon Punch requires focusing mass amounts of pure pwn into one's fist, before hitting the target as hard as freaking possible.

1. Pull fist back screaming: FAAAAAALLLCCCOOOOOOOOOOOOON
2. Thrust fist forward whilst also screaming: PAUUUUUUNNNCCCCH
3. ???
4. Profit!

Warning: Expect arm to catch fire if done correctly

In universe its explained that Dark types are the result of using dark aura.
You're both wrong. Dark types are clearly the result of a war-tribe living in Africa that used what they thought were potions to induce different physical and psychological effects on their opponents. The animals (or Pokemon) in the area were kept in cages and used as test subjects for these potions. Then, through a system of adaptation and evolution, the test subjects gained an immunity to these potions, as well as gained the ability to utilize some of the effects the potions had through different parts of their body. Thus why nearly all Dark type Pokemon are dark-skinned and can do **** like torment people just by looking at them funny.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know who this is, it's timssu. I got a name change.
