There are no KO's at 70%, shield grabs, easy airdodge baits, safe tilts, safe smash attacks, not even safe back airs here. You can't just act like a frog. You have to BE a frog.

Well my day was productive. Got 3rd at my local going Greninja/Sonic today.

I need to learn to work under pressure. I keep giving matches away by freezing up and dropping stuff. Also get demotivated easy.
And my post got ignored x.x. What's it take for a guy to get noticed?

Oh vids of tourney.

Solid stuff man. Work on adding some more Dtilt and Utilt to your neutral though. They'll help out a lot in the mixing up your opponent in the situations you tend to jab in.

Cool stuff BT, just wanted to give you a helpful tip when you catch peoples' recoveries with hydro pump

I noticed you tried to jump up with an aerial (or the second time you went for shadow sneak, then the third time you tried to just push him off with HP) when Roy was defenseless in free fall. I've tried to do that so many times and my hit rate is probably about 30%. Then they get the ledge and I feel like an idiot. I've had so much more success just staying grounded and waiting until they come down. Even if they manage to land behind you on the stage you can get a decent punish for good damage. If they don't have that much maneuverability, though, they most likely will fall in front of you or on top of you and you can get a smash attack for the KO. If you use d smash, there are very few ways they can avoid at least being hit hard, if not losing their stock.

If there's a platform they can land on, jump up on it and force them to make a choice. Or, wait and then jump up with fair. You have a much better chance to hit them as they're landing.

Also, be careful about landing in front of opponents on the ledge! Made your matches against that Pit closer than they really should've been. Just go to the ledge and wait for your chance to return to the stage safely

I noticed you play in NY, have you ever met a Wii Fit trainer played named DJ Concarne? Good friend of mine I like to body online lol

The first battle with the Mega Man was one of the most satisfying kills I have ever gotten, and it happened at such a low percent... The quality is pretty crappy though, thank god youtube replay sharing is coming to the game soon, now I can stop relying on my phone for uploads.

Nice first kill there on Mega Man. Me like.

One day, I hope people in the smash scene see my Greninja the same way as they see aMSa. Perhaps best Greninja if I can work hard enough to surpass aMSa. Most players who played me see me up there in terms of top Greninjas, I just need to conquer the mental game/nerves. I still have some ways to go imo but I want to be recognized for a change so that will be my goal, tired of people in my scene looking over me. Of course, I need your guys help too. I've always learned from these boards and aMSa/other good Greninja vids, so keep supporting my Greninja vids :3. I'm branching off to higher tourneys a bit more consistently in the short future since the crew I'm in is making plans to comfortably travel to bigger tourneys.

I said it in my first interview, I will be the American aMSa. I will take over as best Greninja in the states as my first act as best to my abilities and will not give up. If you want this too, try to stop me :D.

My Greninja is hungry and it will only be nourished by the blood/tears of the top level players of not only my region but eventually the world. I will hunt them and terrorize them until they give in and call me one of the greats.

I dunno if this has already been discussed, but there's a small setup I found a long time ago so I thought I might share it here.

At higher percentages, (90-120 on mid weights) If you notice a large airdodging habit, you can go for a Dthrow and run up to them and shadow sneak. By the time they come back down, the shadow sneak should come and hot them. it sometimes kills. Fsmash works too but i feel it's less reliable for some reason.

Another thing is that shadow sneak will eat spotdodges so use it for that.

Again I don't know if this was discussed already because I just came.

I found that out a long time ago, or at least I was the first to bring it up.

The airdodge baits are pretty much my signature playstyle at this point I think. A lot of people have told me that I make them really afraid of airdodging lol.

I do down throw, short hop, then forward smash. Won't work if they don't have an airdodging habit because Greninja has no combos out of down throw, or if they just jump away. But sometimes it works, I guess. Can also try for an up air, since it will spike out of a short hop and the forward smash will hit anyway.

Found this while browsing the subreddit, for those who feel a little uncertain about our ninja frog.

@ elusiveTranscendent elusiveTranscendent
ZeRo has state this a few times in videos he has made before so I already knew he liked Greninja so...

I wish I could rep the frog but I have no competitive future in this game just because I live in Brazil.

You guys probably already know this information but I'd like to see more Greninja's substitute against stage control attacks, whether it be a slow projectile, a more (un?)conventional attacks like R.O.B.'s Gyro, Bowser Jr.'s Mechakoopa, slow moving Gordos, Crash Bomb's explosion, one of Link's Z-Dropped Bombs, Duck Hunt's Gunmen, Arcfire's wall, or Olimar's annoying Pikmin Throw (bar Purples). You can even counter a regular grounded Hydrant for whatever reason! Countering Arcfire and Gyro can be tricky, but all you have to do is timing the substitute so you land on the active hitbox. The options and movement Substitute gives that can turn great tools against opponents without a hard read is pretty fun to mess around with, even though its not 100% safe.

Then you get into the fact that the :substitute: itself has its own, albeit situational, uses for blocking a projectile occasionally so we can charge a shuriken with less risk in a projectile war, and substitute seems relatively unexplored. My personal Gfycat dream is to gimp a Ness by hitting the Substitute Doll offstage into his PKT2 path, causing his recovery distance to shorten just enough so he misses the ledge, but thats never going to happen.

You can always body me in the ditto online if you want; I'm too busy working on tech skill, combos, Hydro Pump angles/tricks I always fail to use outside of Training mode, and labbing pointless things instead of fighting actual humans.

Who else uses the pink greninja? I see it the least out of all of the costumes, but I love it because it is so beautifully ironic to see the sneaky ninja in a burn-your-eyes-see-you-from-a-mile-away kind of pink. Where is my pink greninja family?

Also dark purple takes 2nd place. Default and light purple come close too. Heck, I love all of his costumes

I don't have any idea where the concept for most of them came from, other than the shiny that isn't quite true to the game. Not even a tree frog themed alt?

I use default, dark blue, and silver.

I tried to get amiibos but they are so hard to get a hold of its really not worth it.
I just bought mine imported in a Brazilian site my friend recommended me, took about one month for it to arrive after the three Amiibos I got (Greninja, Robin and Palutena) got released.

Does smashboards have any kind of coaching sections? I'm tired of stagnating as every character.

This actually arrived yesterday but still

Finally~
Whoa nice! I just got mine today as well!

Not as high quality of a picture, but I see you two had to import yours from Japan as well for the Gekkouga. I think I forgot to post about mine when I got it last month.

EDIT: I notice I'm the only one without the plush from the Pokémon Center site. I wanted to get it a while ago, but I might have motivation to get it now.

I got mine off play asia for ~$45 (including shipping). Probably a lot more than you'd want to pay, but they are out there.

You may be late to the tiny frog statue party, but you still made it. The more Greninja amiibo owners, the merrier.

US Greninjas are harder to find since he's a store exclusive, so I recommend importing if you're outside US. (However, he and Jigglypuff are the most common store exclusives with lots of stock, so the difference isn't too big.)

I don't care how much it is, I'm going to be starting up a collection of that type of stuff from the games that I play so I can put it on my desk like a real nerd. Monster Hunter models got me hype too.

You might care when you remember how much they are. $45 for a figure is "cheap."

Yo where did you get that greninja plush? I need it in my life
You can buy it at the Pokémon Center website, or Amazon. You can see I have one too in the background of my picture. It was a gift from another member here since they don't ship to Brazil.

My Greninja amiibo is currently in the shelf right above my monitor so every time I'll look up I'll see the little dork.

I also want to make a training montage with it at some point. As soon as I find out the best way to train them =P
