It's weird shulk is the only sure one. People keep saying it's only gonna be Marshal not the chorus men, and that it's a different awakening character. I think it's gonna be just Marshal, shulk, and chrom.

I don't believe that for a moment. The roster has already been finalized from the beginning (with the exception of Greninja, due to a slot being given for a X and Y Pokemon character) which means that any character that has been decided to be worthy of a character slot will stay there unless they cannot be made feasible. Which is where the Diddy-Dixie argument would normally come in. That team didn't happen because it was found out that it literally wasn't feasible and thus was scrapped. Chrom and Shulk are not the type of characters that can be compared to the Diddy-Dixie tag team in feasibility, but rather to pretty much every single character that already exists in Smash that would have no technical difficulties existing on the £DS and Wii U version.

Which is where the Chorus Men comes in. Chorus Men may be a possible example of a character that could run into technical difficulties and unlike Shulk and Chrom, are not easily guessable.

Every character so far has been correct on the leaks, especially WFT which was never an obvious choice. To get all of those correct along with the Chorus Men, of all characters, would not be any coincidence at all. If the leak got all of those characters correct, the Shulk and Chrom would have no reason to be doubted at all.

The Brawl roster, from what I remember, was leaked all at once. That's why it gathered such negative attention. One big leak containing R.O.B, Lucario, Toon Link, Wolf, and having no Mewtwo, Ridley, or anyone else people wanted. And only being 36 characters.

On an unrelated note, something relevant to this topic occurred to me: what if Sal's source works for the Treehouse? That would explain their knowledge of the game despite being fluent in English. In fact, that could even potentially explain why he shares new info right before big Nintendo events and why he didn't initially know all of the characters on the roster (during the Treehouse livestream during E3 it was mentioned that the Treehouse has some level of secrecy internally concerning the SSB roster, with new characters being added to the build that all team members get to play on over time). The treehouse people work on translating and game testing. If they leaked anything it would be characters they've seen personally so they wouldn't have listed "Pokemon from X/Y".

I'm sure not all of them would be working on SSB. He could just have the privilege of getting to play the bottom security level version of the beta which generally updates with new characters soon before they are revealed, or he could have a friend who is helping with Smash that tells him this stuff. And whatever the case, it's entirely plausible that the reason he didn't use Greninja's name is because when he was writing the e-mail to Gematsu he was thinking "What was the name of that Pokémon? Oh, I don't know, I'll just say 'Pokémon from X/Y.'"

Exactly, he mentions multiple games, so I doubt he'd ONLY be referring to Smash, if he's referring to it at all.
