Classes start for me on the 18th in Charleston. Dang. Ah well, I'll be headed up to Clemson periodically.
Are you gonna have a car to get around in your Freshman year, ESAM? Clemson's a nice, small college town, so there's not a whole lot of learning where things are, outside of going to Anderson or Greenville, hopefully.

Haha, I wondered if you'd have a car, I hear most freshmen nowadays don't. I'm only up in Clemson occasionally but I go to Brawl tourneys every now and then and head out from there when I do; if I'm up there and there's a tourney going on I could give you a ride but that's not too often since med school keeps me busy most of the time.
You can also look up a guy named Ryanarius. He graduated this past year but I think he's staying at Clemson for grad school. He's semi-retired from Smash but you could always run it by him if he wants to carpool to a tourney (we went to one in Georgia 3-4 months ago or so).

As much as I want to rage at this, you're probably correct. I'm rusty as anything. Once you get settled in, though, I may give you the chance. I'm only about a half hour from Clemson.Yes I do Fenrir.

i am pretty sad we didn't get to play at all, sai. it's really a shame that nobody updated on the tourney time lol. I'm definitely glad you game out though, it was great to meet you and talk about stuff. I definitely look forward to playing you next time we're in the same place.

it's a tourney in nc that they have in charlotte that snap and some other people put on. it's the biggest one in the carolinas as far as i know (top players show up like pp, lozr, other ec players). basically if you're good and around this area you go to it

I've played Snap a bit before and while I'll admit he's better, he's probably at least within my grasp.

yeah dude i went to the first one and i got my **** rocked but it was cool to see all the matches. i met a bunch of dudes around the area too, going to stuff like that is how you get noticed around the smash community. if we could organize a car or two to go to g6 i'd be down for sure. rc/std/anyone else.....you in?

also, expect a thread for TGM:4. it's the other tourney in charlotte we were talking about. that's coming up in mid september, so that gives you better time to plan cars and get some extra training and stuff.

Hnngh, I can't go to G6.
I'll keep an eye out for TGM, but I'm currently planning on going to the tourney in Athens on 24 Sept.
It has less Melee hype than Brawl, though, so if they fall too close to each other, I'll go with whichever has more of my kind of hype.

tgms primarily brawl also but it will assuredly have dr peepee in attendance, so if you havent gotten to play him before thatd be a great reason to go =]

If my schedule didn't change like a high school girl's emotional levels, I mighta made it earlier; that being said, I don't hold it against anyone - I enjoyed myself and didn't have to pay any money to do so.

AS PROMISED i'm doing a quick power rankings for the sc players that competed in the tourney. this is just my opinion and obviously if you didnt show up derp de der so without further ado i present the NEW SC TOURNAMENT-BASED POWER RANKINGS
1) JR (DocJ) - He got the furthest in singles of any sc player (i think it was losers semis) and his falco definitely represented sc well throughout the day. Had some seriously hype sets and some serious potential if he improves his tech skill
2) Spencer (Nuts) - Got to winners finals in doubles (shoutouts to my partner from nc pazy) and got knocked out of singles by 2 nc players (tough draw son). I guess my marth has the most potential, but sheik is too gay to give up on. Bl@ck Chris may have just inspired a new ganon main so we'll see......
3) Alfie (Crax) - Did well in both singles and doubles (teamed with JR and gave me and pazy a great set). This dude's marth has the most potential of any sc player at the tourney i think (HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW HOW TO KEN AND GAVE SNAP'S MARTH A RUN FOR HIS MONEY). Hopefully I can get down to goose creek and give his marth a few pointers sometime, dude is mad cool.
4) Khai? (Khai) - I didn't really get to play him at the tourney save for some silly ganon dittos and from what i understand he's sick at brawl and hasn't played melee for a while. It seems to me that if he played more melee he'd be sick.
5) Alex (Jiao) - Alex's peach was maybe the best at the tourney and definitely the best i've seen from sc. Plan on us both getting better up in columbia this semester.......the USC smash population is down to just us
6) Stewart (????) - This dude had to leave early but i played his sheik a good number of times and we basically went even in dittos, but i hear he's more into brawl. If he had stayed for the tourney i think he would have done pretty well. Too bad....
7) Brandon (Bran) - Hosted the tourney and it was by far the funnest one i've been to (LOL out of the 4), he's the real future of sc smash imo as he's still in high school and has a bunch of time to get better. Trained legit for the event and had probably the most hype set in singles that i saw. Keep it up dude, it wont be long until you're runnin **** in sc and btw GET ON SMASHBOARDS
8) Raphael (Red) - Started out the day by playing roy............ummmm. Anyways his marth is pretty technical and apparently he's been out of the game for a while so get back into it son. And cut out that roy **** lol
9) Caston (DTF) - Well he was the only fox main from sc there.........so i guess he's got the potential to be the best player in sc. Played him and his partner in teams and basically i would just say be gayer (more shinespikes......more tech skill......more pew pew) and you'll be pretty good.
10) Sean (SMFF) - A true son of south carolina smash, he was immediately down for falcon battles and knew the drill. He threw out hella pawnches and keeeicks so i basically had to get him in the top 10 by principle alone.
