I'm getting a bit carried away this is about b-man, what do people think of my bomberman item idea at the first post of this page 26? (nobody commented)

Yes @ first sentence. Blade Knight, post that in the PM thread. Paper Mario/Vivian = 2-D Win!

Sabrewolf, your Skull idea is intriguing. Definately not a tournament item, though! O_o;

Yes, but that's okay because no item is a tournament item, so they can be as wacky and broken as they want.

Thats a huge surprise. I guess the Zero Suit Samus angle was too much for Tourneykids to take.
Well, no tournaments have taken place yet (WOW! INCREDIBLE!), and it's not official. But if no other way exists to either just start as Zero Suit Samus or switch between (...Like that's ever gonna happen...), you lose a character by banning Smash Balls. If Crates, Barrels, and containers are switchable on an item select screen, unlike in Melee, then it might happen. Containers and their explosiveness is the main reason items are banned. In fact, they USED to be allowed. But nixed. Meh, I don't care. I usually only play with specific/no items. Like... All Bob-Ombs and Motion Sensors.

...Okay, well, nothing but the last sentence had to do with B-Man. BOMBZ!!!

There'll probably be an item representing the bomberman series if he's in, I think the best choice would be the Skull(think thats what it's called), as it appears in nearly every bomberman game.

When someone picks it up they can throw it at an enemy, it can have one of these effects for a short period of time,

they are all effects that effected bomberman in his own game.

- Character's controls are reversed

- One tap in any direction will cause the character to continue moving in that direction

- Character is unable to attack (remember when bomberman can't lay bombs in his games? same as this)

- Character becomes dizzy and stops every few seconds.
Nice observation. It would be the perfect item Bomberman out of pure iconism.
I had the same idea a while back, heres an excerpt from my moveset on the first page.

Item: Virus! (Skull from Bomberman 64)
-Fire- user spontaneously combusts and is on fire for around 10 secs. User can touch other players which temporarily lits them afire (5 secs). Does damage overtime to user.
-Big- user becomes larger, heavier, and stronger, but slower and much lower jump.
-Small- user becomes smaller, much higher jumps, and faster, but weaker and more easily knocked away.
-Jammed- user cannot stop moving but its able to change direction and jump. Speed increases over time.
-Reverse- all controller moves are reversed. Up is crouch, Down is jump, B is A, etc.
-Ghost- user cannot receive or use physical attacks. User can now hijack an opponent and semi-control them.
-Stun- User can barely move, but can take slightly more damage.

EDIT: this is strange, there used to be a composer on the main site that composed songs for bomberman generations.......but I just looked there now and he/she is no longer on the list......
Dont scare me. I checked and it isnt there. I hope i just missed it. I know that the musicians have nearly know determination in characters but this isnt a great sign for BMan. Does anyone have any insite on this. It has to be some sort of misunderstanding.

The Skull / Virus has to be the primary Bomberman item if he makes it in. Don't forget the Evil item, though (Random Stage Hazard).

Louie the Kangaroo could be an AT.

Could you please somehow illustrate that?

Speaking of, i tried to show what a possible Bomberman stage could look like. I used Up & Down and The Pyramid, but viewed from the side...

Up & Down

Pyramid

Apologies for the quality poorness- i used paint. These are drawn nearly literally, i didnt change too much from it would look if seen from the side. Theyre mainly meant as a base for ideas. If anyone could re-do this better it would be apreciated.

Yes. I nearly forgot that. The Stage Hazards are also a very good idea. They are another reason why Bomberman 64 was so memorable.
I was thinking it could be an item for Bomberman, but i doubt theyll include two items for one character. Maybe it could just be included as a event on his stage.

Yeah, that's a good idea too.

BTW, great job on the stage! Up & Down is the t!ts.

Now all we need to do is Pyramid. :p

Just remember, the up and down pyramid stage floods to the top, so it's not gonna be unbanned. Though, it could just flood to an extent, then go back in, then come out, then...

Why not give the option to turn off the stage hazard instead? No need to let a neat stage like that be unavailable for tourney play.

I'm back with my movelist!

Part Two, pplz! Da B-Man’s Neutral A, Tilts, Smashes

(Hey, I just noticed. Da B-Man. Switch B and Da. B(e) Da-Man. LOL)

NEUTRALS!

A: Punch. A normal punch. 1-4%
AA: Left Hook. A left hook. Shocking! =O 2-5%.
AAA: Bomb. Bomberman holds a Bomb in front of him that blows up, without self-inflicted pain. A normal explosion. Not a fire cross. Always 7%.
Rapid A: Rapid Hit. Bomberman rapidly delivers 1% rapid kicks. A lot like Fox’s, but it does seven hits before going to the repeat. Fox’s does four.

(Like C. Falcon, you may choose not to proceed to the Rapid A. It is easier, as you must press A four times to initiate the first seven rapid kicks.)

TILTS!

Forward Tilt: Detonate. Bomberman holds a bomb out in front of him, which blows up, again not injuring him. 6-12%. Low-moderate startup lag, low cooldown lag. You can angle it like most F-Tilts for Shield Stabbing. Low-moderate knockback.

Up Tilt: Flip Kick. Bomberman somehow flips around once, delivering a heel-kick around him, starting with the upper left/right, depending on which way you face. But here’s where mindgames can come in: the hitbox begins the OPPOSITE way Bomberman is facing. 5-9%. Low startup and cooldown lag. Moderate knockback.

Down Tilt: Ground-Sweep Kick. Bomberman, while crouching, flails a foot about in front of him, back and forth twice. 3% on the first hit, 7% on the second hit. Low lag for startup, but low-moderate for cooldown. Low knockback, making it a more combo-friendly form of Bowser’s D-Tilt.

SMASHES!

Forward Smash: Bomb Lob. Bomberman throws a bomb out in front of him, only about two feet, which explodes upon ground or enemy contact. by charging it, you pump up the bomb, like in his games. So, it grows to Pumped Bomb size at a full charge, and explodes somewhat loudly. A larger hitbox for a bigger boom, too.

3-15% on no charge (Multiple hits, like Banzai Bill in Melee), 7-27% on full charge. Moderate knockback on no charge, high knockback on full. The last hit always has the same knockback as possible, so if someone gets hit by a fourth hit instead of fifth, they take the same knockback as with the fifth, minus the miniscule damage difference. Smash DI, anyone?

Up Smash: Bomb Toss. Bomberman throws a bomb up, high enough it would just barely land on Battlefield’s right/left platform from the base. Again, it is pumped as you charge. This attack, however, is a single, powerful blast. It blows only upon hitting the floor, inflicting 5% damage for conkin’ a noggin.

16-19% for no charge, 17-27% for full charge. High-moderate knockback on no charge, high knockback on full.

Down Smash: Spin Kick. The only smash that doesn’t go all ESPLODE!!!1!, Bomberman spins around with his legs out, a la Sheik. Ah, if only Crouch Cancel D-Smashes were possible… Dang C-Stick…

11-30% on no charge (B-Man can hit multiple times, like Sheik. Five times max. ZOMG TEH PEACH-ESQUE BROKENNESS!), 16-45% on full charge. Low-moderate knockback for both.

Next time: AERIAL ATTACKS! Will he have a Spike or Meteor???!!!

Discuss, fellow Bomberman lovers!

Why is it that Ridley has more opposers than Bomberman? It's strange...

EDITED FOR FAIRNESS! SPECIAL MOVE POST TO BE EDITED AS WELL!

'Cus Bomberman's awesome?

While editing stages is a good idea (more than just for tourney play), the water isn't really a hazard. It looks to me that if Up & Down was banned, it'd be because of camping/running problems, something the water would actually prevent.
were do i get photo shop for free
Technically that's illegal, but, since this is the internet and no one cares, it should be rather easy. I wouldn't know, though, having gotten my copy offline "perfectly legally..."
If you don't want to that, you could try GIMP. I've never tried it but I've heard good things about it, though most of that was concerning spriting so I'm not sure what exactly you can do with it.

Why?!
I think "Fire Up" would make a good power-up.

@ Patinator
I think you need to revise some of you %. They seem a bit weak to me.
Also, no offense, but the way you utilized the elemental bombs is just horrible. The bombs are completly unbalanced. There's nothing to make up for some being weaker. Even if there was, there's still also no initiative to switch, so when one is inevitably discovered to be better, no one will ever use the others again. It'd be weird if Bomberman ended up forgoing his trademark fire bombs for some spin-off bomb.

The rising deathwater would be a cool idea, but the problem would be more akin to why Hyrule Temple in Melee is banned (size, camping, etc.).

How would "Fire Up" be of use to anyone but Bomberman? 0_o

That's exactly what I said.
Maybe you were agreeing with me, but I have no idea why you'd quote me to say that, rather than the people saying otherwise.
Just confused.

It could make ALL attacks explosive. Now THAT sounds like fun!

...What are you saying about Ridley, punk...?

Okay, I guess I'll edit my ground attack post with new percents, and then the Special Move post. I just made B-Man's Neutrals weak because, well... Everyone has weak Neutrals. His tilts seem alright, maybe off by a percent or two. His Smashes, really, I think are fine! Mario's does only 24 or so fully charged in Melee. But then, it's a BOMB, not some threatening arcane fireball of doom. :ohwell:

Nice job on the SmashWiki page, Geruda Warrior.

It's full of grievous spelling and grammatical errors, but I'll fix that.

Please bare with me, I have no scanner, and when I use my digital camera, it either comes out too dark without flash, or too light with it. Bare with me, I'll see what I can do.

Again, apologies for the crapness of the picture.

Um, does anyone know that ANYONE can edit the page if they have a Smashboards account? I've already corrected most of the spelling errors. All for Bomberman!

That looks great, ~N9NE~. All we have to do is get someone to lighten / tidy it up in Photoshop, and it's first-page material.
