You know zerodownhm,, you make an excellent point. Everybody's so worked up trying to figure out the physics of the entire game before it's even done that they can't even enjoy the trailer for what it is. People, you can't keep putting together pieces that aren't there. Some of the assumptions you guys are making are downright absurd. Like so:

Sheik is getting removed because Zero-Suit Samus is also fast and agile.

Captain Falcon is being removed because there is a Mario Kart level.

You see how dumb those sound? It's crazy. The game isn't done, so stop trying to hyper-analyze every single frame in order to try and master a game that isn't even complete yet.

Don't most dsmash's cover both sides of the character? I assume that's his dtilt. It reminds me of Samus'..
keep in mind Mewtwo's down smash only covers one side so maybe snake's is the same deal

anyway this trailer is definatly great, I like all the new levels they added just one more reason to hype the game up more

^^^

I agree. People should just wait until the game actually comes out :ohwell:

I've heard to many "this game is going to suck", "I don't like it, it's too slow" comments.

So true. Just like those people that say C. Falcon will dissapear because Snake looks a bit like him (wich is so not true by the way).

I had a crazy thought. There's 2 nintendo world events left, right? What if they decided to showcase a different returning character at each event. Just like how they showed fox at the end of this one. They could show Donkey Kong at the next one and then maybe Captain Falcon. That would be neat, although it probably won't happen.

let's see, in SSBM you started with 14 characters (for the game's sake, zelda and sheik are one, the programmers expected them to be used as one) and in SSB you started with 8, so i'm guessing around 16 for this one, well between 16 and 20

I don't know if anyone else saw/posted this, but at the end where they do the final montage...on pikachu's bit, he's running through a snowy level. It looks like cold cold mountain from mario 64 or something. Also, when pit does his air moves, either they have basically no lag, or he L-cancels...both good signs. I noticed zamus' pika warp thing at the end on meta knights stage to. looks sweet. I'm not sure I like the overall floatyness.

That made me smile. I'd expect at least more screens of a couple new characters.

It's the Yohi's Island stage. Apparently it changes seasons while you're playing it.

what bothered me, on the destructable pit (?) level, pikachu destroys the right part of the top platform, but he still was able to stand on it, what's up with that? is it just something fancy, or does it affect the gameplay?

Oh, he's not standing on nothing. There are clouds under the destructable platforms that they can stand on.

You mean they dissapear after you stand on the m for a while? Maybe, but it doesn't look like that.

Its hard to tell, as it only shows it for a second. I think he is actually doing his forward a air attack, so it would look like he's standing because of where his legs are.

Im not 100%, but its a possiblitity.

Actually, the assumption thats being made is that from what has been seen, Zamus has a similiar moveset to Sheik, and because the TP models are being used, and Sheik likely isn't in TP, there's a good chance we may not see her again.

When you watch a trailer for a movie you're excited about, do you just watch it and walk away, never to think about it again until the movie is released?

Now what if you are obsessed with said movie? ;)

I've noticed something that I don't think has been mentioned yet.
At 1:57 in the trailer, where they are fighting on Pit's new stage, you see Pit get hit to the left and get set on fire. It's difficult to see what causes this hit, but if you look closely, it looks like something falls down just to the right of Snake. It has a small trail, like a little missile or something.
Also, at 2:09, you see Wario get hit to the right, again on fire. Again it's hard to see what causes this, but I think it's something to do with Snake, who is directly below Wario at this point.
Could Snake have some sort of grenade attack, or even C4 (which would fit in more with his games). I'm pretty sure I'm looking to much into this (I can't help it ^^), but these two moments just stood out as it wasn't clear what was causing the flaming hits.
All feedback welcome ^^

Ah...didn't see that. When I went to check his claim, I was too busy looking at the platforms. Wait, then aren't those destructable platforms pretty much useless?
Not at all, as there are a few possibilities.

1. The clouds disappear over time as well.

Doesn't seem likely, as designing a stage where it is possible that there would be NO safe landing zone goes beyond insane.

2. Simple. After the platforms are gone, you're standing on clouds. Trouble is, you can't grab the edge of a cloud.

Seems most likely that it's a slight tactical change for the sake of the level. Making edgeguarding a little easier and harder at the same time.

3. It's just to look cool.

It would just be to look cool for the trailer. Possible, but not guaranteed by any means.

That doesn't have to be right. From SSB to SSBM we got 15 extra characters. Sakurai himself said that there won't be that more extra. AND Snake has been announced of probally being an unlockable, meaning that he also isn't playable right from the start. I think we'll have the same amount of characters available at the start as we had in SSBM: 14.

He didn't say that. At least, I'm pretty positive. He said he estimated up to 40 new characters, give or take a couple. Also, he said all third-party characters would be unlockables.

Would it be fun if you could beat the SH*& out of Snake to unlock him?!?

You remeber Smash for the N64 and all of it "12" characters and smash bros melee camed out with like *OMG* 26 characters (including Sheik), twice as the first one had. And again the sequel to Melee should have at least 50 through 52 characters, twice as more than the second one have. (yeah it sounds dumb)
