Anyways: Stiners135 and I had a short conversation on this just a minute ago, and this'll get the ball rolling for this discussion.

Stingers: Lucario should be way lower, he's only so high because of Azen, this is like if Gimpyfish's Bowser was winning tournaments before the first Melee Tier List came out, he's way higher then it should be.

DK > Diddy? No way. Move Diddy up, DK down. I've played DK a lot more extensively then Diddy and I was honestly pretty good with him...he should be lower.

And Toon Link needs more tournament representation, I think he's way too low :/

Also, Samus > Yoshi? It's low tier and all, but wut. I think Samus should be right above Falcon

Me: I dunno, Bum actually wins tournies with DKs while beating D3s who can infinite him. So I think that he must be playable if Bum can do it. Maybe it's just him...either way, I doubt that a DK will give M2Ks MK trouble(in the way that Ninjalink's Diddy did), so Diddy probably should be above him.

TL is def. too good. You seen Toon Nasty yet? Friggin crazy.

Have you seen Tudor's/Rohins'/ or some other guy I can't remember(lol)'s Samus? That's why. I have no idea what Yoshi can do, but I heard he can infinite(or CG) MK and Wario, so that's a plus in my book.

About the tier list:

I agree with Stingers about Lucario and DK. They're both too high in my opinion, and need to be put lower. Same with Bowser. Mario should be higher.

Yeah, it was kind of hidden in the sticky section of the general boards, where I did not expect it to be.


Anyway, my random thoughts....

Falco got robbed by G&W. IDK, I'd consider Falco to be better than D3, too.

I feel like Marth got jipped, but when I think about it, I don't know where else to put him.

R.O.B. is where he should be. Maybe not the exact place, but he is a top tier character.

Brawl is much more balance than I thought.

I agree and disagree with Stingers. People often consider characters great when great players use them. Azen is so ridiculous at reading people and predicting that he makes Lucario look top tier. However, I also think that Lucario is around the area that he should be. He really shouldn't be "way" lower. At 130%+ he is broken. You certainly have to be skilled to use him, but it's not in the technical sense, it's in the strategy and intelligence sense.

TL is dangerous in the right hands, but he's hard to kill with. He kind of takes a lot of control. Santi makes him look pretty nasty though. The truth is though, he and Quivo are the only good Toon Links I've seen. Meta does give him problems, but other than that he does well against a lot of overused characters. Of particular importance, G&W.

Diddy>DK, I agree. Diddy has a lot more going for him. Bananas are ****. I think he's going to be the Melee Fox of Brawl at some point. DK is much simpler, so he goes down to a similar debate that Lucario has. It all comes down to the balance between the ability of the character vs. the ability of the player, and a tier list is supposed to be about the former, but can sometimes get mixed up the latter. Donkey Kong is pretty **** though. F-smash is broken.

Fox is better than Wolf. That is kind of BS. Wolf just has bairs, lasers, and a long ranged f-smash. Fox has the best recover of the three, a broken hyphen smash, dair goes into so much ****, and shine of course.

Why is Lucas always so low? On paper he sounds a lot better. Why is Olimar not low-high tier?

I don't think Link is in the bottom three. I don't even think he should be in the Low tier.

@ Mugen-Do you think that a Falco and GaW of equal skill would get a Falco victory? I have a hard time believing that. It wouldn't hurt to explain though.
As for Diddy, he's good, but "Melee Fox" good? I dunno if he'll get to that point or not. I'm sticking with the thought that Marth needs to be bumped up at least one more spot.

I think Falco is probably better than G&W.

DK and Diddy is a hard call. Both do relatively well against Meta and Snake. Ninjalink is really the only awesome Diddy right now.

I think Marth should probably be better than ROB, because Marth has less bad match-ups. However, ROB beats Snake, which makes him a way better character to know how to play for counter-picking purposes.

Lucario is really good at high levels of play. Having good DI makes Lucario a beast. It doesn't seem to me like he really has very many bad match-ups at all. I think he also has a decent match-up against Meta. If his placement was due to Azen he'd be 2 or 3.

TLink is too low. However, no one really plays him because there is nothing particularly amazing about him. He doesn't really counter any characters to my knowledge, nor does he have any hard counters himself. He just doesn't seem to be a very useful character to know how to play.

I think top tier is way too big. Metaknight is sooooooooo much better than everyone else.

Olimar should be a few places higher, but no one really plays him.

Peach should be a few places higher.

Ike should be above Zelda.

Zamus should be right next to Ike. Can't decide if she's better or not.

ICs should be above DK. I really don't know why ICs aren't winning any big tournies. It seems like mastery of the infinites is definitely possible.

Kirby should be above Pikachu. Pika is way too predictable. Once you learn how to DI his moves he's not really very hard to fight against.

Mario should be next to Sheik. Again, can't decide who is better.

Samus should be above Ness. Grab releases make Ness pretty much unplayable outside of teams.

I think I liked the H2YL tier list better, overall.

I made some edits to my first post, but yeah I think Diddy will be similar to Fox in Melee. Not in that he'll be the best character in the game, but that he'll be an extremely good character that's extremely hard to be at the top with.

In that specific match-up, Falco does have some problems, but I think he is overall a better character than G&W.
