I just downloaded Mega Man II on the E-Shop, and I gotta say, it's really fun. It's my first Mega Man game, so I can now say that I fully support him, more than just expect him.

I've played Mega Man X, Mega Man X2 on Game Boy (or something like that, colored edition released in 2001), Mega Man 1, 3, 9 and 10. Should get my hands on the rest eventually.

Wish you would have tried something a little more light-hearted.

Because dang, that's really sad... and kind of scary as well.

It's going to be sad if the anniversary remains pathetic and nothing good comes out of it. Then I would really be convince that he's dead. For now, I'm holding out hope that Capcom is just being REALLY stupid with how they're treating the franchise (which I feel as of now).

Well, if its needed, we'll still be able to make a new thread. Call it "Blue Bomber:Megaman support thread v2" or something like that. Or make one user the "official" thread manager for this thread. Someone that would be able to handle the task of showcasing the movesets and color swaps that fans have made.

I am dedicating my effort towards one character getting in and that character is Mega Man.

Mega Man is one of three characters I support that I expect to show up (since I do believe third-parties will return with one new addition); the other two being Mewtwo and King K. Rool. Mewtwo might as well be good as confirmed and King K. Rool is the most likely newcomer (in my book), so I'm not particularly concerned about them.

I choose Mega Man because unlike these two, there is a scent of uncertainly revolving around the character. He could very well get in due to his massive popularity and importance to video game/Nintendo, but he could also miss out if Capcom and Sakurai fails to communicate with each other on the subject. Considering that this will be my last Smash, I want to be able to make whatever effort we can count and hopefully bring the character to Smash.

There are, of course, other characters I would love to see that I feel also have realistic odds; including Isaac, Dixie, Toad/Bowser Jr., Samurai Goroh, Roy and Mach Rider; however, those are not characters I would have an issue with Sakurai not including as I consider them extras. The rest on my wishlist are either characters that are unlikely (Paper Mario) or have no chance (any non-Mega Man third-party on my wishlist (not counting Geno)).

So basically, other characters on my wishlist are either characters that I feel as near guaranteed, realistic characters that I consider as bonus, or unlikely characters that I have little to no hope for. Mega Man is a character I feel has a solid chance of getting in, but also a real chance of missing out. This circumstance would only make me even more excited for the thoughts of Mega Man's inclusion in Smash. If Mega Man were to be confirmed at E3, I would be incredibly ecstatic. Not only would Mega Man finally be in, but Mewtwo and King K. Rool will almost certainly be in as well, so it would be a matter of waiting for the game.

So what am I waiting for? Might as well hope that whatever last push is done gets Mega Man in Smash 4 and pump out a kick*** thread should we be granted a new one.

I'll get Mario_and_Sonic_Guy about it. If he's nice, we may get something out of it and I should take over (especially since Kish hasn't posted over here in, forever, not to mention hasn't logged on for over two months). If we're not lucky, we can always try to create it nonetheless and try to see if Kish comes back. Either way, this thread is way overdue for a proper OP (we have gone nearly ten months without it).

I was thinking of "Rock 'N Roll: Mega Man for SSB4" for the title, but I'm not sure what you would think of it. But if you want, I can always use "The Official Mega Man for SSB4 Thread - Most Wanted Third-Party Newcomer"

In the year of 2014, a super robot named Mega Man had just foiled yet another one of Dr. Wily’s plan. After the robots were cured of Roboenza , Mega Man and company lived in peace. Following the event a year later came a mysterious invitation; to prove himself worthy of joining the cast of Super Smash Bros.

Mega was curious. He had not heard of such things in his own world; he had been used to the repetitive cycle of thwarting Dr. Wily’s plans over and over again. Clearly this was something different and it required his attention.

After a long argument with Dr. Wily, he reluctantly agreed to let Mega accept the invitation only under one condition; he must come back alive. Tearfully, he waves goodbye to Dr. Light, Roll and Auto as he heads his way to the portal that met home. Alongside with him were his dog Rush, Beats and Eddie who would accompany him. Once he stood in front of the teleport, gravity pulled him and his company deep into an unknown land…

Mega then wakes up to find himself surrounded by all kinds of unfamiliar characters. A fearsome space dragon, a fat yet malevolent king, a small boxer with ferocious precision and a goddess. Not only that, Mega was greeted with a stern face from a yellow ball with a foot, a wooden puppet and an Umbra Witch with a talent for bullets arts. Clearly, Mega Man’s greatest battle had yet to begin and already he was about to get into a conflict more violent than anything he’d encounter with Dr. Wily.

Any help is appreciated at this point, so sure. I have a lot to say about how I feel about Mega Man as well (although I plan on writing my own essay on him after the rest of the thread is created).

I am especially going to need help with in regards to discussing Mega Man's odds. Not necessarily the arguments, so much as I'll need a bias filter so I can at least have a bias that is transparent (because bias is inevitable when I'm arguing for him, but I do believe that bias can be contained) as well as potential suggestions.

I'd get Starphoenix for this, but he's very busy with college, so maybe --- if he has time?

Currently in the process of making a new OP. I will keep KishSquared's OP so that people will remember who was originally was the OP, but other than that, this thread now belongs to me or rather, us, since a fan base is best when we work together.

Looking forward to seeing what happens with this thread once we give it a proper OP and even if Mega Man doesn't get in, it'll be all worth it to see fans be brought together as a community.

Regardless, the main goal of this thread will be not just to push for Mega Man's inclusions, but also to create a quality discussion thread for Mega Man discussions in general. Of course I appreciate every supporter, but everyone is welcomed to discuss Mega Man regardless of their feelings towards them. The main thing is to be respectful with each other and given that we're all part of this thread, we should be able to do this, right?

Oh yes, speaking of the support list. The name given to me "Spicy Man" reminds me of this fire based robot master based around a chef I made a long time ago called "Flambé Man". Like, when around Mega Man 9 came out back in 2008. Sadly I lost the drawings a long time ago that provided details about the robot master.

I really do enjoy your unconventional way of posting and how your change in avatars are hilarious. Truly you are one of the Strong backbones of the community.

The thing that makes Mega Man such a great choice for a third-party is that he stands out from the rest of the bunch of third-parties. He has massive popularity (after all, he's likely the second more wanted character internationally, definitely Top 3), he's iconic, there's so much that they could pull from the games (even a Marvel Vs. Capcom move set would work if heavily re-modified) and there has been at least some interest from Capcom. Plus it's Mega Man 25th anniversary, which is a great opportunity to confirm him for Smash Bros. While he's not a shoe-in, Mega Man does have a lot going for him in relative to other third-parties (though it's not to say other possibilities aren't to be considered). It's why I stuck with Mega Man as my third-party predictions after all of these years (started to make them in late 2008, my rosters I made in 2008-2009 were awful).
