Dash attacks- I forgot about this one. what is this. honestly. dash attacks are garbage in melee, by me this only comes out by accident when im shuffling. what good is marios dash attack? doesnt work 4 ****, and there are other character whose dash attack are bad too. honestly i only do it with young link or samus because it is understandable; they need that KO power , peach does it too but shes a little broken so meh, but when i see spacies do it , its just sad because they actually dont need it, they have a whole arsenal of good moves at theyre disposal they dont need dash attack. i always learned to play without it its actually a bad move.
Mario's Dash Attack is good to use against Falcon and Ganon's SideBs.

Vs DK ratio idk. I'll just say even. This is a really uncommon matchup.

Vs Link. If he's any good, he'll win if you get impatient against him. By impatient, I mean playing aggressively and approaching predictably and letting his camping generally get the better of you.

You technically outspam him, don't forget that. Generally approaching him constantly is bad since his attacks like Jab and U-tilt keep you out effectively, and the former is a particularly gay combo starter. Just pressure him by staying out of his range. He doesn't really have any truly safe moves, so getting in on him and getting massive reward from your devastating combos is merely a matter of waiting.

Chaingrabbing him is good, although I haven't researched how well it sets up kills. U-air and U-tilt juggles are pretty obnoxiously good on him, especially since he doesn't have the fastest juggle breaking moves. Edgeguarding him is mostly easy. Invincible B-airs if he Up-Bs, and just hit him in general and try not to let him tether. YI and BF are good stages against him for that reason, not to mention his platform pressure game is kinda bad since his U-tilt doesn't reach as high as Marth's.

When recovering against him, usually recover high. His low edgeguards are pretty annoying, and of course, make sure you know how to deal with the Up-B edgeguard by careful sweetspotting.

6/4 Mario. He's slow and can't really throw out most of his moves safely if you're outside his range, and your combos on him are better. His recovery is decent, but still not too hard for Mario to gimp.

uair him like a biatch, CP fd and fireball waveland camp him, space behind him and PS the upBoos -> horrible ****. approach using the floor hit of dair (one of marios best ranged move, FF asap and input dair late), uair, and FH autocanceled dair.

utilt his nair -> horrible ****, WD back fsmash his every other approach. you can uair his bair if u want.

cape every projectile, bair his recovery and dthrow fsmash his life. dthrow uair his life too.

his moves give stupid room for DI, downB -> cape as high as possible and DJ ( -> upB/airdodge) smart to recover out of range of his nair edgeguards.

easy :) 70/30 imo but 65/35 for arguments sake.

if you mean the bolded part I figured you were mentioning how we, as a board, are trying our hardest to get Mario to a much better spot than he is on the tier list, but more importantly, in our hearts

but you know

just a guess =P

what's the song name anyway?

you guys ARE AWARE that you are giving almost all the matchups a 50-50 or slightly advange/distadvantageous for Mario, when that is in no way true? if it was... he would be higher tier.
I accept the fact he has **** against higher tier characters, but alot of the mid tiers **** HIM, so.. i think reflection on this is needed. He is not Fox or Sheik, he is humble plumber.

I've noticed this too but us as a whole are very inexperienced. the only legitimate mario players are you and j3ly that have knowledge in the matchups.

no offense A2, but half the time your information just comes out wrong >.>

edit: made slight adjustments to the numbers

Which mid tiers again? Samus and Ganon are hard, but outside of that, Mario is just fine in the mid tier.

I think it's our goal as Marios to make sure that Mario is "The Mario". What this means is that we have to find a new technique that will make all matchups vs Mario 50-50.

you mean since nintendo tried to make Mario the middle of everything, he should have 50-50 matchups against everyone?

nintendo also intended this game to be a party game. and to play with items

so no, Mario should not be the middle ground of matchups. he is his own character, with his own set of moves, that can/cannot beat others. case closed.

Uthrow/Dthrow>Fair>Grab is even better.
Cause they aren't just sitting there at 0...
if that's what you mean...

But I like how if you grab at 0, it doesn't matter cause you can still combo out of throws...into other grabs even...

Moral of the story???

Grab more.

YES!!!

Unless you're talking about starting a stock (them at 0%) or mid stock (them between 1% and 998%) or the end of the stock (999%)

Then you're close!
Only 1/10th off still.

0-deaths from all of them and it'll be no problem.
Then you're the best! AROUUUUUUND!
;)
