no its because some of the time the things you say are ********.
I feel the same way about most of you guys too. So on the bright side, the feeling is mutual.

@XKCP- All your **** is really just opinionated, and why the hell are you holding back? You really think I'm afraid of you? Go on, say what you need to say. Quit raging and step up, be a man. You claim I'm full of crap? Really, like for what? You have failed to give specific examples as to what. As far as Whobo goes, I never came begging to the 64 community, I don't know where the hell you came up with that nonsense. You just proved one of my statements right how some of you guys come up with these delusions and then everyone else who likes the person with the delusion, jumps on the bandwagon. I also know what I'm doing for Whobo 5 and what's it to you whether I lose or not. You're such an elitist snob who thinks he's better than everyone else when you're really just some loser who wants to make himself look good. You're way too argumentative, it's sickening. Anyone who doesn't agree with you, you get scared and then attempt to cut them down and throw childish insults at them, like saying they are full of crap. Get on my level David.

The respect Taylor receives is deserved. He might be a total **** about a fourth of the time (I'm being generous), but he's also an adult and he acts like it. And if you ran a tourney, Bomber, on the same day that Taylor, or Ran, or even Randall (who's now old and retired), I wouldn't even hesitate to make their tournies first, not because I don't like you, but because I know they can run a tourney.

I feel I'm just as capable as everyone who's TO'd before me. I've been told a few times I'm not a very good TO, probably the underlying comparison to everyone you listed above, but the criteria of comparison has never been revealed to me so I just take it as a simple opinion without fact backing it up. The only time I've ever had my capability as a TO attacked is when I had tournaments with MK banned (which was quite silly, I'm sure you can agree). Outside of that, there has never been any real feedback or criticism.

When I did my tournies, I always had at least 2 power strips and a Wii with Brawl, and it's very rare that I don't bring at least a Wii to an event. I couldn't scrounge up a TV back then, but I did what I could.

I miss the days when Randal would host monthlies and the turnouts were always 30+ people. I was new to the scene at the time so I didn't get to really get to know everyone who went, but man those were the days. Assuming most of those guys who used to go didn't quite, I wish I had been older and thought of establishing connections with them to have them attend other events. But such is life?

Haha, I'm the equivalent of Curlz. Best joke I've seen all day.

And what made Ran's tournaments so legit? Another comparison without proof to back it up.

Cba to wall of text think I'm gonna sit this one out.
Tldr bomber's way WAY out of his league for whobo MMs, banning MK is really really stupid for locals in which many of our top (and most frequently attending) players either main or second him, and I've brought a full setup to EVERY tournament I've ever been to (like 90% of all brawl events), while traveling further than all of you on the regular.

Tryhard philosophy: lame philosophies are lame.

@Gunner- Despite not seeing eye to eye about MK legality, I don't remember if I've ever mentioned it before, I highly respect your dedication. You, Jnig, and Brawlman all came to my events, you all went to pretty much every event. Hell, even though you didn't agree with MK banned events, you STILL came, so I can say that counts for a lot. When I first started hosting events again, I only considered you three the real representatives of the LA Brawl community. So by all means, thank you. It's a shame you said you won't make it out to Mandeville again. Especially with Open World open, you're missing out on a really fun time.

Also before this whole drama I started, I decided I was going to make the remainder get hypes MK legal. At this point, I really don't care all too much, but partially, my motive is to see how many of you MK players who say they'd go to a MK legal event in LA no matter how far, would actually show up. I also will be reaching out to the kids out at Open World and I know a few of them play MK. I know they will need some people to show them the ropes and hopefully improve their skills with MK. If you guys are up for connecting with these guys when we have the next Get Hype, that'd be cool. Reminder; Get Hype is September 21st. It's a stupid long wait but there wasn't anything I could do, but it gives me plenty of time to recruit those Open World guys and after having a month hiatus, we will have a pretty good turnout (or so I hope/expect).

I'm about to start coming to these events once I get a job and my parents will stop nagging at me that it's a waste of time and money. Even when gunner constantly offer's me ride's when I ask.

I'm getting top 2 at the next local I go to. Enough of this.

@ChKn - I might. I plan to stick to offline for a while to make sure my execution is 100% down.

The only problem I have with Wifi is my ass powershielding lol.

I also made a design for Wintercon's logo, based off of the Smashcon's avi. The simplicity of it would be better to have in the event of streaming.

I made one for Summercon as well:

If there is not any major streaming team at the next one, I can probably setup a pretty nice stream with the assistance of Gunner. It will have commentary mics and audio/video setup, possibly a player cam if I get an external webcam.

Some sort of background (probably want to go with 1080 or 720) would be awesome, and maybe even something to use as a splash screen. If I want minor details (like borders for each separate video feed) I can probably do them myself, but a main background is what we need. I actually made one long ago that I liked, but I'm not sure where it is right now. I may have lost it in a data transfer at some point, used to be in my pictures I'm pretty sure.

I'm assuming most of you will give SSB4 a shot, so how do you guys think we should handle the ruleset?

Edit: Can we get a link to Open World this Sunday?

If you can give me an idea of what that background looks like, I can see what I can come up with. I would rather try to make a metroish background based off of the logo I made. I actually made one with a whole bunch of squares and ****.

@BSP: I really do not want liberal stage lists at the very beginning. It took us 3-4 years just to get rid of RC, Picto, Japes, Brinstar, PS2, etc., which were dumb to have with 1 ban and MK lurking everywhere. Instead, we should do the opposite and have a safe list of like say 5 (some arbitrary number), then have a testing period and add 1-2 stages at a time until we get to a sustainable amount. Obviously, this all depends on what the criteria is to play this game.

Character-wise, it would be difficult at first to see what's going to be overcentralizing until we have a good understanding of what the metagame is like.

The technical part of me wants us to start very liberal and only ban if something's clearly degenerate or game-breaking, but the pragmatic part tells me that we're going to end up conservative anyway, so why bother.

I'm curious as to how Japes is dumb though. Unless you don't like time outs :troll:

I just don't like camping ****ery for 24 minutes. Amazingly, over the course of the last year and a half. Brawl is getting more and more away that point, aside from certain matchups. As a state, we've done a pretty good job with our stage list. We obviously had to go with the status quo for a bit of our stages, but that was to prepare for OoS.

Interested in seeing what the Melee side has to say, considering they've been though quite a bit of changes to their ruleset.

@XKCP: I did this tutorial for one of my screensavers in 2012. I just want some type of flow. The actual size is 1366 width and 768 height.

I like that one. If you added more to it somehow (either quantity or variance) and maybe turned it about 45 degrees so it would flow from corners then it would be perfect (to me, anyhow). I will ask Erick what he thinks of it all, but he generally doesn't care as long as it looks good. The design of that is great, but it just looks a little too neat. Regardless, video inputs will be placed overtop the background and I have those usually in a diagonal formation or maybe a triangle (main view is off-center, a complementary commentators cam in some sort of diagonal from it, and then anything else goes wherever there is room or maybe even on a second page that is swapped out since I use Xsplit mostly).

EDIT: http://puu.sh/42rnf.jpg

That is actually the backdrop that I like; I found it in My Pictures. It's like a flame/lava wave backdrop, but WinterCon is cold so go with that chill blue you have in the squares and I'll just use this for my own personal streaming. Also, DAT FACE.

Alright, I tried to tinker with the background for it, but I'm not really feeling it.

http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww134/ShadowChKn/Smashcon/SquaresBackgroundBlue_zps6f0d8f8b.png

I'll make a quick mockup of the stream layout based off of the last one I made. Although, I might just have to make a new background. Probably similar to the one I made for the last Wintercon.

This is what I had in mind for one of the layouts of the stream.

I like the layout a lot more than the edit to the background. Tbh, I should have clarified that adding quantity to the background meant also dispersing it so it wouldn't end up looking cluttered. It's starting to remind me of math class. Stream layout is great and would be enough; I just thought it would maybe have more space on it, especially if we tried to cram a player cam in there, but that can be a different page altogether so no worries.

EDIT: Man, the WinterCon background is so mean. Last time, I was actually out of school by the time I really got to working on that video I wanted to make. If I actually worked on it during the semester, it could be done by January easily; all the good software is on school computers. Does anyone know if there's any hype footage from prior tournaments? I recorded some for Southern Rebellion, but not a lot of hype moments in it either and I wouldn't dare use it for SmashCon stuff because that's major fraudulence to do so.

I would have to make the squares one a bit lighter, so that the logo can be seen. I pretty much ripped the layout from EVO, although that's a very good place to start when looking at quality streaming lol.
