I've never been to a New Orleans mardi gras. All last year I went with my friend's mom on her float through every coastal MS city and drank until I couldn't throw beads anymore.

Am i missing out that much?

New Orleans is the only place on earth I know you can get shown boobs for beads. :)

It will be Brawl not melee. I'm running the Brawl tournament.

And EVO isn't indicative of anything. It's like TaylorHJ explained "melee players are older and have jobs."

The large difference in disposable income made many Brawl players realize they should just donate to Melee instead of Brawl since the outcome was an inevitability.

Is there going to be Melee and Brawl? I'm confused that they would put Melee on there and then forget to put Brawl which would then somehow be interpreted as a switch from Melee to Brawl rather than an oversight to add Brawl to the poster.

If there's Brawl, I might show up. If there's Melee, I will definitely show up and probably enter Brawl for kicks and friendlies.

if theres enough interest melee can be added. but melee players in this region are notorious for not showing up.

South LA Melee seems to be stepping it up, or they at least showed their numbers and commitment at WinterCon. Shreveport Melee is too dead, sadly, but I think some Texans will be interested. Do you know if Tyler Brawl players are going to reciprocate the effort you (Shreveport) guys have made to attend their stuff? I'd like to meet some of them.

I agree with all of these things. I was mostly thinking it was in a different place than normal so maybe we could pull some different oos. And if so I'm sure the Melee community would be willing to make the drive. If not I realistically don't think we would come. Back to the arguement of people driving long distances to play the people that were close to them originally.

Yea I'm sure Tyler will show up since Shreveport has been to their tournaments like 4 times now.

We have more than one Taylor I guess?

As long as the Brawl tournament isn't too late in the day will I come. Also, if it looks like no one is going to show up, I doubt I will come; same thing goes for if certain people aren't going, I won't waste my time. If the attendance for Brawl is pitiful, I hope the price drops and we run pools to make it our monies worth.

So hype the tournament and make it a success. Best of luck. :bee:

Isn't this the EXACT mindset you've tried to get other players to abandon? If you have interest just show up and bring as many people as you can. That's how these things can get bigger.

The details will be up within the week. I asked about the other Smash games and I was told the will most likely have Brawl, but it's really just melee + trad fighters focused. No P:M.
