Personally the way "combos" are formed in Brawl> Melee > 64 > all other fighters.

I'm cool with big punishes, but I see no point in one person no longer playing the game for 3-10 seconds. It loses its hype after the 2nd time you've seen it.

I like that about Brawl gameplay, but I also like to actually be rewarded for starting a combo. Making a read to get 5% is not fun for me. Getting 20% is a lot more bearable.

Like people have said since Brawl's release, the game is somewhat like tag. It just goes back and forth until ultimately everyone wants to stop playing. People's combos don't have to be extremely long and that's something I enjoy about Melee/64. You plan it out right and have a cool short combo that ends with a gimp or spike, or have a long combo that is difficult to pull off as percent increases.

Reading in melee is just as involved as people claim it is in brawl at the least.

The way people play the game now you don't see those touch of death combos anymore because everyone learned how to DI.

Now you have to make some SICK reads to go big.

Yea, there is a major balance issue to be addressed. It sucks being Sonic and getting 1 or 2 hits before MK brushes you off and seeing MK able to actually capitalize.

The defensive side could also stand to take a hit. Or rather the offensive side needs a boost. I think this is a side effect of animations being alot smoother now, so it still looks good slower.

This is why I really wish Balanced Brawl had gotten the support Project :M did. I don't see anything wrong with the physics of brawl, just the character balance and a handful of minor glitches like RCO lag.

I had a lot of fun at Taylor's place playing everyone. I really need to play more Smash. I swear, I was tanking for energy after the first hour of the Smash Fest. xD I miss the stamina I once had to game for eight hours without stopping.

Had fun playing with the NOLA guys tonight. Fun tourney over all. I think I spent more time on P:M setups than actual melee though. lol. Ivy is so fun to me.

Trey, next time let me know and I can pick you up on the way out probably.

The next Get Hype is only a few weeks away. Please plan accordingly. Make sure your read all the details. You are responsible for knowing the details. Don't get mad when I can't accommodate you because you didn't read what was listed in the tournament info. :)

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=333435

P.S- The bonus event I'm including for this Get Hype is going to be P:M. As it's listed in the tournament details, it will be a free event, but if enough people show up (at least 8) and they want to play for money enough, then I will just charge $5 for you guys to enter. Also I have no clue what is the standard rule-set you guys follow by if any, so just post that info in the tournament thread for me please.

Mar brought up graphics in an argument of how good a game is.

Nah, real chess's resolution is limited by the human eye so it doesn't have infinite resolution. Even excluding the human eye and having some kind of all seeing observer it would be limited by the size of the smallest thing that can reflect light.

Online games I'm competitive at I play on the lowest graphics settings (or Atleast not the highest). When ****s exploding everywhere and there's a million flashing colors on the screen it's harder to keep track of exactly what is happening.

Chess sucks. Real men play checkers.

Also I saiiiid good graphics are better than bad graphics. I never said gameplay wasnt important but if a game looks ugly it dicreases the likely hood of me wanting to play it.

I DARE SOMEONE TO READ THAT WRONG AND THINK THAT I JUST SAID OLD GAMES ARE WORSE THAN NEW GAMES.

Bet I'm more of a gamer than both of you combined. Y'all have no right to call me shallow. I play all the smash games and point out flaws that I personally think exist in them. So far your best comebacks have been vague at best and character attacks at worst. *donates 100,000$ to brawl*
