I'm still have hope that Ashley will be playable as I've yet to see any evidence telling me that she isn't. It couldn't have been that hard or time consuming for the developers to rework her code over from Smash 4. Why not show off Ashley and Isabelle with the other assist trophies? My gut's telling me that both of them are playable.

Keep in mind we have only seen half of the Assist Trophies so far.

True, but they made it a point to show us Waluigi as an assist trophy when Waluigi was one of the most requested characters. Until she's been officially confirmed as an assist trophy, there's still hope for her to be playable.

So true, It is very telling of her popularity even among the devs. Looks fun too and has it's own unlockables within the minigame, even if they seem to just be badge arcade stickers reused haha.

One would think that Sakurai is aware of Ashley's popularity.

1) The Badge Arcade. Why was Ashley so heavily promoted over more iconic Nintendo characters? Why push a seemingly random WarioWare character unless they were going to do something with her?
2) The Mii costumes. I think some of the Mii costumes were Sakurai's "consolation prizes" for characters that he perhaps wanted in Smash or were highly requested, but for whatever reason he couldn't fit them into Smash 4.
3) She's extremely popular in Japan. If Ridley is the fanservice character for West, Ashley could be the fanservice character for Japan.

I don't see much difference between a minigame and a challenge. If Ashley got a challenge mode that would be pretty much the same as getting a minigame. However, Pumpkin Panic I feel is special for having the 3D model for Ashley and being the only one its kind in Gold. It basically just tells us what we already know, that Ashley is a star in the cast.

I feel like Geno might have more despite the smaller thread, but we're definitely top 10.

I counted 59 supporters on their OP, give or take. I don't know if the list has been updated within later pages of the thread.

While I don't believe for a second that the "leak" that was posted in the K Rool thread is true, I do note that it doesn't mention Ashley being an AT. If it does end up being true (which I doubt), there's still a chance that our favorite witch can make it in as a playable character.

Ashley was solidly 6th place when I counted. While I didn't count Geno, because there's a limit to how many super long threads I am willing to count supporters for (Out of the long threads, I only did Bandana Dee, Adeleine and Rex, the other ones I counted were much, much shorter).

I can't imagine Ashley would leave the top 10, even if I had counted Geno (and others)'s supporters.

Also, she was 6/351, which is pretty amazing. The number of threads has gone up since then.

Honestly, just assuming this leak is true and they don't reveal Ashley as a character. Hoo boy, it will get more nailbaiting that she survives another AT wave as the AT list narrows down.

The only good thing about this obviously fake leak is that it doesn't deconfirm Ashley being playable.

Considering Sakurai has detailed why Chrom didn't make it, I don't think that Ashley would suffer such a fate.

Chrom was apparently Sakurai's first choice for an Awakening representative, but was too run-of-the-mill of a Fire Emblem character to make the cut. Ashley, even if she would end up being a stereotypical cartoon witch, doesn't really have that obstacle in her way.

I'm quite sure he'll do DLC. And i'm quite sure Ashley will be on the base roster.
I think DLC will be used mostly for characters who couldn't make it (Rex, Spring Man, 8th Gen Pokemon) and third parties.
