The most I've seen outside of Nap_'s posts are someone I know on Discord going "oh that's fake af", and citing a 4chan post without actually linking it.

I should note that even if this is real, it is possible that they may not have a Direct planned, and that the mistake wasn't leaking the Direct date early but saying they had a Direct at all.

I used to think Mona was undeniably my favorite and I was (still am, really) gunning that she'd make an appearance outside WarioWare either playable in a Mario spin-off or Smash. Her association with Wario should be explored more.

But in the end, Ashley's personality won out when I went back and explored the series' characters more. She can be angry, she can be unbelievably apathetic, she can be lonely, and she can be commanding. It's very multi-faceted and I love it.

I think Mona did make one, small cameo in Wario Land 4 (that game used a lot of Warioware assets, particularly in the sound & music department), in one of the credits illustrations when you beat the game on Hard or Super Hard with all treasures.

5:41, I can't be 100% certain but it sure does look like Mona without any headwear.

I think that's a good explanation as to why she has a more a helping personality in a meta sense. To me it just looked like she matured along with her voice. It makes enough sense that I'm willing to look past the questionable stuff she did in the past.

And you could be right about it not making sense for her to summon because Ashley hasn't established enough trust with her coworkers. Literally any group shot she's in, except for Gold, she either in a corner, looking away or not reacting at all.

For that reason, I hope that if we do get an Ashley reveal trailer, it's in the form of a party at Warioware Inc celebrating Ashley making it in to Smash. It would give an excuse to have Ko Takeuchi animate it, while being a really wholesome scene of everyone supporting Ashley that breathes character to the series as a whole. It could also lead into that summoning thing I talked about.

What would be great about Ashley being in Smash is that, one way or another, she'll have to be proactive in interacting with others to succeed and/or survive, going some way to get her out of her shell. Do you think that, just maybe, seeing Palutena fail at cooking might have a chance, however remote, of making Ashley laugh?

It's also worth noting that the first day of EVO 2018 also happens on the 3rd, and Nintendo has been a sponsor in recent years.
chances of such an announcement are pretty fair.

I don't remember her even being a character prior to Game & Wario, at most just a background presence as a nameless ''9-Volt's mom''.

That game really does sum up my feelings to the Wii U as a whole: by and large poorly received, but still responsible for delivering old & new gems (Ashley's hair styling & Gamer for the former, Splatoon & Smash for the latter).

That's Warioware for you, it generally gives each character equal attention, even gradually. 18-Volt started out as 9-Volt's Waluigi, and eventually became a Microgame host on his own.

Ironically though, the Thang family outside of Jimmy seems to have been phased out entirely.

No worries, bro. It's inevitable that stuff like this'll happen. I did the same thing with that Funky Kong leak that said there'll be a Direct on the 22nd. We know how that panned out.

If we assume Badge Arcade is canon, then I think Ashley would probably play up her emotions to make friends in Smash. Would she genuinely laugh from something like a cooking mishap? I don't think so. Though I like to think of her as pretty dour.

Yeah, it's a cool read but definitely fake. There's is literally no way Shovel Knight did well in the ballot with his complete lack of presence in Japan and niche (he's an indie) status here. Also, with the amount of measures Nintendo is supposedly making to stop leaks, I doubt this would get out.

Ashley's popping up in 4Chan leaks, Ashley's being discussed more frequently in Reddit threads, I'm even seeing her appear in the more recent YouTube top 10 videos.

That being said Ashley will probably be revealed before the bubble bursts leaving many western fans blind sighted. If God forbid Ashley doesn't make it into Smash this time around for some bizarre reason then Ashley's bubble will burst. Ashley will become the K. Rool of Smash 6.

Haven't seen or heard of Palutena's Revolting Dinner, have you? Cooking mishap doesn't even begin to describe what happens. Suffice it to say it may remind Ashley of some of her own mishaps in spellcasting...

I remembered another Youtuber with a WarioWare character on his list. The video was made prior to E3 but at least he was ahead of the curb. Behonkiss Videos also made a whole WarioWare Tooned series a long time ago on his channel. He did include Ashley in the later episodes but he didn't really do much with her.
