Correct me if I’m wrong (I probably am) but didn’t it have something to do with the ESRB leaks as well? The only time they've announced a character in a region exclusive Direct is when Shulk was announced in a Japan-only Direct, and that was only because he's not nearly as big in the west as he is in Japan.
It could've, considering the ESRB leak came out just 10 days before Shulk's announcement, but it's never been confirmed.Correct me if I’m wrong (I probably am) but didn’t it have something to do with the ESRB leaks as well?
Nope. I have no idea why they decided Europe should get the game earlier than both Japan and NA. Never heard of it being more popular over there.Does Japan have the demo available?
I'm honestly unsure what you mean, I just asked what Ashley will sound like.I'm really, really sick of people asking this. Why does everyone seem to think Nintendo is just going to suddenly drop the WarioWare cast after over 10 years just because they have to talk more?
I assume that a fan just edited her page.Warioware gold IMDB page lists it as Christina Peyser, Not that IMDB means much but it seems pretty likely it'll be the same voice as always.
She was in Game & Wario. Why would they change the voice cast?I couldn't find anything recent on Christina Peyser. Wonder if she's still voice acting. If not, then hopefully the new voice actress sounds just as good as her.
I didn't think her new voiced lines in G&W were hers. She says "Red" and gives a breathy "woah" but they were so small I thought an intern did them or something. But if that's her then yeah, shes probably in Gold. Yay.She was in Game & Wario. Why would they change the voice cast?
Oh, it's her. Her voice is the top thing I love about her next to her personality. I would know it anywhere.I didn't think her new voiced lines in G&W were hers. She says "Red" and gives a breathy "woah" but they were so small I thought an intern did them or something. But if that's her then yeah, shes probably in Gold. Yay.
I personally don't know, but that would certainly be an exciting (yet scandalous) development! Pretty much all my doubt would fly out the window, if it can be verified!Say, am I crazy for remembering an instance of Ko Takeuchi retweeting a fan expressing interest in Ashley to be Smash and unretweeting it afterwards? I'm completely positive the retweet happened at least, but I'd like confirmation.
It was sometime after the initial reveal in March iirc.
I'm looking up and I'm not finding anything, the reason I'm positive about it is because I feel like saw the retweet and remember talking to a friend about it. (And I'm bringing it up now because someone asked me about it too today for mentioning it a while ago.)I personally don't know, but that would certainly be an exciting (yet scandalous) development! I don't know, if this actually happened then there's also an alternative possibility here: That he thought he could've been getting people's hopes up for something that hadn't been confirmed, then deleted it to prevent that.I personally don't know, but that would certainly be an exciting (yet scandalous) development! Well, I haven't used Twitter for a while now, so I have even less means of finding out for myself. But once they announce Ashley and she becomes everyone's favorite character, it will all be water under the bridge.I'm looking up and I'm not finding anything, the reason I'm positive about it is because I feel like saw the retweet and remember talking to a friend about it. (And I'm bringing it up now because someone asked me about it too today for mentioning it a while ago.)
I could be just crazy and mixing things up though.
One of us. One of us. One of us.I don't know, if this actually happened then there's also an alternative possibility here: That he thought he could've been getting people's hopes up for something that hadn't been confirmed, then deleted it to prevent that.
Also uh, hi everyone. Finding this thread was one of the primary motivators for me to sign up, though I had lurked this site in the past. Ashley is a character I hadn't considered as a Smash fighter until relatively recently, though I've always liked her and now she's one of my top 2 most wanted characters.
I choose not to subscribe to such negativity. We all know the truth, deep in our hearts.I don't know, if this actually happened then there's also an alternative possibility here: That he thought he could've been getting people's hopes up for something that hadn't been confirmed, then deleted it to prevent that.
In the context of WarioWare's gameplay, each character has their own little side stories, with each character being about as important as the next. But many consider Ashley to be the breakout character due to her noticeably different personality and motif, which sticks out like a sore thumb in a franchise of wacky and rather one-note characters, lending her a pretty sizeable fanbase. Obviously, both Ko Takeuchi (the series character designer) and Nintendo themselves see her potential as a company poster child, which is why she became just that multiple times during the 3DS's lifespan.I've never played WarioWare, and only know about Ashley via the music in Brawl/4 and the Assist Trophy. But I'm curious as to why she's so popular. I read the OP, though it didn't explain much about the character herself to me as someone with almost zero knowledge. All I got from it was that Nintendo seems to use her outside WarioWare a lot. So, for my edification, would someone maybe explain why she's so appealing and popular? What does she do in the games that's so significant?
That did happen, yes. He untweeted it afterward, either because he realized doing that would have caused a lot of speciation. It's possible Tweeting this may have caused "confirmation" Ashley was in smash.Say, am I crazy for remembering an instance of Ko Takeuchi retweeting a fan expressing interest in Ashley to be Smash and unretweeting it afterwards? I'm not gonna say that tweet meant something, he probably just liked the tweet. That did happen, yes. He untweeted it afterward, either because he realized doing that would have caused a lot of speciation. It's possible Tweeting this may have caused "confirmation" Ashley was in smash.
On that note, he has only done that with Ashley and no other character of his. So he would enjoy his character in Smash or better yet, is covering up the fact she's in the game.
I'm sure Takeuchi would know something, especially if a trailer in the series's style is being prepared...I'm not gonna say that tweet meant something, he probably just liked the tweet.
BUT MAYBE HE KNOWS SOMETHING? (Takuechi Please!)
That would be hilarious. Can you imagine Snake or Ridley in Takuechi's style?I'm sure Takeuchi would know something, especially if a trailer in the series's style is being prepared...
No, which is why it must come to fruition: so that we can all visualize such absurdity. That would be hilarious. Can you imagine Snake or Ridley in Takuechi's style?
Oh phew, I'm glad I didn't dream that or something then. That did happen, yes. He untweeted it afterward, either because he realized doing that would have caused a lot of speciation. It's possible Tweeting this may have caused "confirmation" Ashley was in smash.

Smooth Moves was also my first WarioWare. I loved the Icarus multiplayer mode. Still one of my favorite games to play with my friends to this day (other than Smash, of course). I'd love a spiritual successor on the Switch that better fleshes out those motion controls.Ah-ha: I just remembered the first WarioWare game I played, that being WarioWare: Smooth Moves!. I think that explains how I got used to the franchise and by extension got to know Ashley in her minigame section.
Oooh, interesting! While my skepticism make me think it's not much, my level of Ashley hype make me believe that it's a good thing. That did happen, yes. He untweeted it afterward, either because he realized doing that would have caused a lot of speciation. It's possible Tweeting this may have caused "confirmation" Ashley was in smash.

While I agree with you, overall, I think Ashley's eyes turning from black to red (and hair from black to white) when spellcasting makes her look more dynamic.I don't mind the Gold artstyle. It's cute, but personally I prefer something closer to Smooth Moves. I didn't like how Game and Wario gave everyone black eyes.
That's fair, but even then I think Ashley looks better overall with red eyes. While I agree with you, overall, I think Ashley's eyes turning from black to red (and hair from black to white) when spellcasting makes her look more dynamic.
You cannot leave us hanging after saying that. See if you can find the tweet.Say, am I crazy for remembering an instance of Ko Takeuchi retweeting a fan expressing interest in Ashley to be Smash and unretweeting it afterwards? I don't think I can dig up a tweet from that long ago (and even then Ko already unretweeted it) but we already got verification from someone else here saying that did actually happen and it's not just me.You cannot leave us hanging after saying that. See if you can find the tweet.
