Honestly....I do not like her without black leggings. The black leggings compliment her red dress so perfectly.

Her new design though cute, I find it pretty flawed. I'm not fond of the designer changing his style every new WarioWare installment. I liked Ashley when she had her leggings, smoother face and even taller then she is now. Her height was at an all-time low during the badge arcade but I see it as so she'll fit better on the slots in the menu.

I don't mind it, but I prefer Ashley I grew up with. Hopefully, she'll retain her older style with newer things.

I am just hoping we get her old design for Smash Bros Ultimate instead of the Wario Ware Gold. But it is better to have Ashley than to not.

Probably Sakurai won't base Ashley off Game & Wario or WW Gold, but just go for a combined design with black leggings, red eyes, and all.

I like all of Ashley's designs, even that weirdo realistic one from the title screen of her game in Game and Wario. As for what she should look like in Smash, the leggins and red eyes are a must. I prefer the more classic look. Regardless, I'd be happy just having her in.

I don't care which Ashley gets in, as long as she does. Though if I had to choose i'd like the Game & Wario Ashley design but with red eyes.

Heck, even if she's still an assist (Which I highly don't want) I'd hope they still use her older design but updated a bit more and cleaner.
Not to hate on her Gold design, at the end of the day she's still our Ashley!

If/when she's playable I hope they base her off Game/Wario and her Smash design, with her red eyes and everything

I dont think Ko Takeuchi's style really changed much between games. He just got better as an artist as time went on. Ashley's portrait in Touched is honestly pretty bad, atleast compared to future games.

I'd say he only went through a style change in G&W, where everyone looks like Rhythm Heavem, and in Gold.

As someone who didn't grow up with Ashley, I will say that I like her G&W design the best. Give her red eyes and it'd be perfect.

I always liked this Ashley and Toon/Young Link ship. Hopefully that becomes even more popular or the game teases it in pictures if she gets in.

Also what are they saying in this?

Ashley's art is so cute, probably my favorite place to look at it is Zerochan which has a ton of great Ashley fanart!

It would be funny if Ashley started making cameo appearances in the LoZ games. They could make her the grumpy potion shop owner who uses Link as a guinea pig for her medical experiments.

I’m always a little saddened to see how many people continue to sleep on Ashley’s chances as a character in their prediction lists. As I naturally have Smash fever and I’m looking for all kinds of content on it since we certainly don’t have anything new to work with.

Another thing that I think speaks to her popularity is that she was an assist trophy AND a Mii costume, which we don’t exactly see too often.

I also hate how people say she’s a side character from a niche franchise, and I can’t wait to see Sakurai destory the way people predict characters with who he reveals in Ultimate. I’m tired of so much of the community always speaking so assuredly on sakurai’s patterns and the relevant argument.

I know what you mean. Pre-E3, I always thought that Ashley, Nikki and a Fatal Frame rep are the most likely characters to be slept on. Ashley's kinda broken out, but still being slept on.

Ikr. Like that argument completely leaves out that she's a popular choice among even non Wario fans and how her series lacks representation. A series that's been on every nintendo console since the GBA and GCN.

Now I think people can reasonably come to the conclusion that she won't make the cut. I just don't understand those who say Ashley making the cut is a delusion.

Oh well, on the bright side the realistic roster thread has a few Ashley's sprinkled in the responses.

After E3 the question went from "what do you think Ashley's chances are?" To "When do you think they will reveal Ashley?"

While I wouldn't say Ashley is garunteed, I think it's narrow-minded to not include Ashley on a list of potential newcomers.

She's supposed to be promoting Gold so I don't see why she wouldn't be announced this July if she was in. There's still a lot of July left so we'll just have to wait and see.

It's possible they could only be doing bi-monthly reveals, so the start of August could also work as a date to reveal her and promote Gold.

I still won't definitively cross her out even if she isn't announced this month or next.

I could see an Ashley reveal at the very beginning of August. WarioWare Gold doesn't come out in Japan or North America until then, and Nintendo's showcased games that were already out in other regions in Directs before. So even though the EU release of Gold is this month, I wouldn't worry too much if we don't get a Direct sometime this month,

I would prefer for it to happen in July/early August. It would tie in with Gold's upcoming release and hopefully help with sales. Plus, I don't want to worry if she's in or not.

But honestly, if they somehow kept her secret until the game releases and at some point you suddenly hear the siren and see the "WARNING! Challenger Approaching!" screen with her silhouette... That would be kind of amazing IMO.

That won't happen though. There will be some stupid leak that ruins everything like there was for Smash 3DS.

There's always a leak and because I'm a naturally curious fellow, I tend to spoil myself. </3

But still, I like the very act of trying to keep a surprise. It still means a lot to me rather than reveal everything before release.
