people who haven't seen the animated series will probably like it

people who've seen the animated series and are somewhat of a big fan won't like it because of the casting issue.

yeah, it will be interesting to see a comedian play Zhao.

but if you go in expecting a movie to be completely like what it's based off of you will be disappointed 90% of the time

edit: I just read some reviews and apparently it sucks :/

Just ask yourself this question: Has there ever been a decent live-action adaptation of a cartoon?

I honestly can't think of one.
Nope. Doesn't mean the masses and super young kids won't like it lol.

From what i've seen from the airbender trailer, it doesn't appear to be as bad as dragonball evolution.

i don't understand the hype around it

also as i'm sure i've mentioned before didn't the previews come out like 4-5 years ago? i had assumed it had already come out and flopped because frankly i thought it looked stupid

if it matters, i've never seen the cartoon

I don't recall seeing previews for the movie until about half a year ago?

and the reason there's so much hype is that the series was amazing. It was the last great series that Nickelodeon had imo

Well the show wasn't that great..M. Night Shyamalan is a good director so it might be decent. Doubt it though.

Honestly I think the only problem is gonna be the casting. It's not gonna be as good as the show because it was amaaaaaaaazing.

So I watched this movie... I went expecting it to be terrible, and for the first 40 minutes or so it was fun to laugh at its awfulness. But then it just dragged on and on.

Some of the worst writing in a movie I've ever seen.

The acting and casting was pretty miserable, and there weren't enough fight scenes to make this terrible film bearable.

I watched the anime, and honestly I would warn people who haven't seen the anime more not to see it, because then it ruins the story.

But in any sense, save your goddam money.

Yah west coast people. It's one of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Don't waste your money.

Everyone was booing at the end.

I never saw any of the animated series and still thought it was god awful.

Out of the 10 (more or less) films hes directed only 3 were bad seems pretty good to me, and being nominated for six Academy Awards seems like enough to be recognized as a good director.

Also the Avatar series was pretty dumb.

joseph gordon levitt is awesome. i've loved him ever since watching 10 Things I Hate About You.

unbreakable was really good. i wish they had more super hero movies like that and they had expanded more on that story :(
