Even though he didn't win, I'm still really impressed with BestNess's performance. Taking two games off of Mr. R is no easy task. Ally, unfortunately, had his number twice (he lost to him in Genesis and a pre-Genesis tournament).

Did anyone watch the Zenyou vs. Falln set? Zenyou kept on Falln as much as he could and would not let him breathe, abusing Rosa's poor landing options really well. Falln missed a few key punishes here and there, though.

Damn, Wadi vs DarkShad was off stream? I really wanted to see that.
Glad Wadi won. They're both super fun characters to watch, but I always root for Mewtwo.

Can we fly Maister out to like everything

He's down a stock and a fair amount vs Nairo, somehow gimps ZSS, and then uses nearly only hammers to put Nairo into Toot Toot percent and takes the game off of it

I love this guy

Oh no WaDi, what are you doing? Missing obvious punishes. Mistake’s landed in front of him about half a dozen times.

Edit: I wore glasses for forever, shouldn’t be poking at the man for that.

Ally made some very questionable airdodges in game 4 and 5 to lose that set, and also failed to punish Falln's constant ledge jumps. Well deserved from Falln, and there's two Rosas in top 8 now.

As previously mentioned in the thread, he's been PRed in Mexico City for a while. The G&W community has known about him for a while, but this is one of the first, if not the absolute first time he's traveled outside of Mexico as far as i can tell so i guess a lot of people who don't follow the Mexican smash scene aren't familiar with him.

Edit: I wonder how many times Nairo has lost to a Mario in the last 12 months? Im betting it was the one time to Ally.

Ok, what in the blue heck happened on that trade that K9Sprucse that first stock game 4? That whole match was Bayo personified. Stuff happens, somehow opponent loses stock early.

I swear to god, Mistake is such a frustrating player to watch. He’s a mix of really good awareness, coupled with awful decision making under pressure, like a tendency to buffer really dumb options. Basically, he does fine, until he is under pressure.

I chalk this up to his age and experience.

Good on him tho, for taking out K9 3-1.

Also, well done Mr R for taking out Elegant in some tense matches 3-2.

My prediction:

MKLeo takes it.
If it’s not him, then I guess Salem or Nairo.

Dabuz would be my favorite, if Leo was sick.

I can see Dabuz beating Leo, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. He has taken him to Game 5 before.

If Dabuz manages to take Game 1, I could see him Cloud dittoing Leo on Leo’s counterpick. Honestly though, since they had a set last, Dabuz has gotten even more anti-air heavy, and does that high Luma desync(?) to cover aerial approaches now.

Good evening, this is Grandma Shizuka. Looking at the top eight, it appears to be a 50% chance that my girls :rosalina: and :4bayonetta2: will be victorious. I, a 56-year-old non-competitive female Smasher, predict that Falln or Dabuz or Mistake (I choose him since he prefers the Bayo 1 outfits just like I do) will triumph. If Salem wins, I am down with that, too. By the way, owing to how passionate I am about my girls, I peruse the tournament results thread often and like every post that has :4peach:, :rosalina:, and/or :4bayonetta2: coming in first place in a competition.

Aww man,first Gohan gets eliminated from the ToP, then Wadi, Elegant,and that new awesome Game and Watch don't even get top 8. This ain't my day for my favorites.

Bayonetta doesn’t lose to Rosalina. It’s been mostly agreed upon by both sides to be in the even-slight advantage for Bayonetta area.

:4bayonetta:
CaptainZack believes Bayonetta wins slightly.
Lima believes Bayonetta wins more than slightly.
Tyroy thinks Bayonetta wins slightly.

:rosalina:
Dabuz thinks Bayonetta wins slightly.
falln thinks the MU is either even or slightly Bayonetta’s favor.
Kirihara believes it is even.


It should definitely be noted that while Dabuz has a strong record against Bayonetta players, he still feels Rosalina loses.
