It is simply how the bracket works. It's good to see which Duck Hunt emerges victorious, and it is a matchup that probably never happens outside of Japan.

I think this happened last year too, where Raito and Yusan had to take one of each other out in losers for 49th.

I'm uncertain about the score because the bracket on smash.gg hasn't been updated yet.

Maister is PRed in Mexico City and in my opinion has a lot of potential as a notable player of the character.

EDIT: According to Maister himself he made it out of round 1 pools without dropping a game.

Other random updates include Anti apparently in losers, lost to Magister, who was apparently Charizard. Zard has had a decent showing so far.

Mags is definitely primarily a Charizard at this point. Villager for select matchups, but Zard's zoning normals and X-factor play into what he wants to do better. He hadn't played Villager in the last 2 months of 2017.

Not the first time it happened since Abadango's Pac-Man. Sinji got 17th at Momocon 2017 and Dreamhack Atlanta 2017, and 25th at Smash Con 2017.

In Brood vs Chag, Chag barely clutches game 1, but then in game 2, Brood gets a 50% combo to open, then two stocks Chag with less than 100% taken. In Game 3, Chag manages to gimp Brood to take it. Brood choked hard in a bad ledge return situation from Chag which let Chag continue to build some key percent.

Bayo is annoying, hard to play against, and have a large amounts of strengths. However, if Bayo matches always end in a victory for Bayo, then why isn't she dominating the metagame like Brawl Meta Knight or her pre-patched self? Most of her hate comes from her defensive playstyle and at low to mid level play.

Imma make a post in the CCI thread about the differences between Bayo - eventually - and why Salem is so much more consistent. But needless to say, Chag uses Witch Time liberally to condition. And as a panic button.

It’s not a tactic that is tenable for consistency.

Really good stuff to Sharpy, 33rd with Solo Zard and some great wins is nothing to scoff at.

Almost every Bayo set ends the same. Nairo 2-0 over Shadow PR. Four stocked.

Nairo abusing paralyzer to force approaches, using Dair to punish Bayo chasing him in the air. I like his approach. Hopefully he remembers it when he plays Bayo later.

Do you guys consider Dawangthang a notable Duck Hunt? If so, a Lucas main by the name of Minty put him in losers 2-1.

As for Charizard I think Flamethrower can be a great move vs Trick Shot if the each hit can flip the can. Since each flip of the can reduces the total amount of times Duck Hunt can shoot it.

I hope that the Diddy players vs Sinji did not Rocket Barrel into the Melon due to match-up inexperience. Twitch Chat and commentators popped off. Meanwhile I did a mental facepalm.
