Fellow Agumon supporter here, that is a nice icon. Thinking about it, I'm not sure if I posted my list of top most wanted Bamco characters so I'll do that now.

1. Agumon (Most wanted): I grew up watching the first two seasons of Digimon and it's one of my favorite shows. I also grew up with the Rumble Arena games. I think Agumon would be so cool with a digivolution mechanic and Digimon vs Pokemon needs to happen someday.

2. Nightmare: I got into Soul Calibur last year. I played Soul Calibur 6 and it blew me away. At this point I wasn't a big fan of any fighting games aside from Smash. But SC lured me in with its beginner friendly gameplay and flashy combat. The music also blows me away as I'm a big fan of orchestrated music and most of the music in the series are bangers. SC6 is the game that made me a fan of fighting games. I think it's a wonderful game and it made me get SC2 which I played a tiny bit of as a kid and now I want to play all of the SC games.

3. Klonoa: I played Klonoa 2 as a kid and I got the Wiimake recently. I have a blast with these games and Klonoa is so adorable and could bring a brand new mechanic focusing around the 2.5D aspect of his games which would be something completely new and unexpected.

4. Don-chan: Not much for me to say. I'm not a big fan of rhythm games but Drum n Fun has been a joy to play with some great songs I recognize. And Don-chan is so freakin adorable, I mean how could you say no to his smile.

5. Dig Dug: One of my favorite arcade games. I'm not sure how you could make a complete moveset that works in Smash, but if Sakurai can find a way since he is a madman afterall, I would be down with this.

Honorable mentions go to Lloyd, Yuri, Chosen Undead, and heihachi. I have been getting into Tales Of but I have not played it enough to care about the characters a lot. I tried out Dark Souls but I just suck and I ended up rage quitting. So it's not my kind of game. But I think a stage and music would be sick. I have been playing quite a bit of Tekken 7 and I think it's a kickass game. But Heihachi has unfortunately been deconfirmed via Mii costume. But if there is a third pass, I will be sure to lend more support.

Real question tho, do you think that if Digimon is in Smash which will be the best representation for the franchise. The childhood nostalgia that is from the old PlayStation era games like World or the new direction that the series is taking right now which is Cyber Sleuth? The best option is both but for me personally considering that the team has been very ambitious on trying to improve the franchise step by step and with Cyber Sleuth success they knew that this is what Digimon is, trying to appeal to new audience while also bring back fans of the old series while not trying too hard to capitalize and constantly pandering on the old days. Not saying that the old game is bad and easily forgettable since I myself used to play them but honestly Digimon has been really praised for it's more mature take on the series and treating the fans as a grown-up.

It's honestly felt like Digimon is the only old series with their prominent representation in Smash is their modern game as oppose to Ryu with Street Fighter 2, Megaman with Mega Man 1-4 and Pacman with his Pac-Man arcade game if we're going by my route.

So if I understand what you are saying, then I think it shouldn't be too hard to incorporate both old and new content like music tracks and Digimon from the older and newer series as spirits. For the music tracks, I could see them choosing from a variety of games since to my knowledge there is not a particular group of music that is iconic for the series aside from the opening song to the original season of the anime. In other words, Ninja Gaiden has Unbreakable Determination for example, but I'm not sure if there is an equivalent to Digimon when it comes to sheer popularity and iconic nature. For spirits, I'm leaning on them focusing mostly on the Digimon from the first season and then some of the most popular Digimon from later seasons/games. This would work out pretty good considering that they just remade Digimon Adventure 1 so the original cast is relevant again.

Tbh, I would be really happy if they have a stage cameo with the human character also appear instead of just the Digimon, it would be a perfect balance since the human character is as important as the Digimon in the story which is really deep as oppose to Pokémon copy and pasted linier narrative that the only captivating part about the series is just the Pokemon, I also expected them to come with a mii costume based on the Cyber Sleuth protag. I don't really expected them to be a spirit since there's not much to work with.

Have Splatterhouse 2 and 3 been re-released for modern systems? I'm aware that the original arcade game and Wanpuku Graffiti were apparently in the Namco Museum games.

I don't know much about the Namco era games besides Tekken so I don't have much information on that.

I just looked it up and it seems that they are not on modern consoles. However, there was a reboot of the series on the PS3 and Xbox 360 that featured both Splatterhouse 2 and 3 as unlockable extras.

Yeah, I was aware of the 2010 game having all 3 main games as extra features. It just annoys me we've not had all 4 of the games prior to 2010 re-released in a compilation.

You've got a pretty good list here, but it definitely shows Bandai Namco is not lacking in potential options

Added one more character for Digimon, IdolM@ster, Xenosaga and Dark Souls to even it out with other franchise that have 2 or more main character and also replace Taizo Hori with just Dig Dug since people is more familiar with his Smurf face arcade-y look rather than his human appearance which always associated with Taizo Hori (which not many know).

I'd add: (ε)T-elos (Xenosaga) as a KOS-MOS echo

...second thought, she doesn't even have to be an Echo. Semi-clone is fine too

Well, can you replace Impmon with Gabumon, add Solaire in and Teru Tendo from Idolm@ster since he's pretty much the main icon of the male Idols in the game (yes, it exist)?
Could Teru be a Haruka echo?

Now this would be a great starting roster for Bandai-Namco's first all out Smash game or fighting game between just all their characters.

So if we are getting a Bandai-Namco rep, when do you think we'll see them? I'm thinking the next reveal since I don't see anybody from Bandai-Namco's catalog besides Heihachi who is out who would be E3 reveal worthy or hyped through the community's perspective. So if we are getting a reveal in February or March, I totally think it will be the Bandai-Namco rep if we are getting another one in this game.

I mean I don't know if Hero and Banjo is a worthy of an E3 Reveal or not since both of them isn't that widely recognizable.

Banjo & Kazooie are N64 icons and Hero is a combination of the protagonists from Dragon Quest which is really big in Japan with over 80 million in sales. I would say they're E3 reveal worthy.

Agreed. If Hero and Banjo are good enough for a E3 reveal then I can see characters like Lloyd, Nightmare, Chosen Undead or Agumon be announced.

In terms of who is the most likely? Who knows. I have a feeling that Lloyd is probably the frontrunner since his costume hasn't returned yet and Tales Of is very popular in Japan, plus Smash's DLC has been leaning heavily on RPGs. Which is honestly why I was not hyped for half of these characters since I didn't care about Persona and Dragon Quest before they were announced and to this day I still don't care about Fire Emblem. That's because generally I never got into RPGs that much. Sephiroth was hype though.

But back on topic, if Lloyd does get deconfirmed in the next costume wave, I am predicting either Nightmare or Agumon with Chosen Undead, Prince of all Cosmos and Don-chan being the dark horse picks. The rest of the characters like Klonoa (unfortunately) and KOS-MOS I don't find nearly as likely.

Probably me but I think that, other than Heihachi, Agumon make a good E3 worthy reveal if Digimon Survive also announced there too. I mean it would be pretty amusing since we get to see their rivalry (mostly one-sided) with Pokemon came true than just being the talk of the town.
