I fully support, as for moves...

Standard B: Bullet Seed (a sideways version of Ivysaur's)
Side B: Leaf Blade (side swipe using green glowing arm blades, can be charged for more damage)
Up B: Aerial Ace (similar to Pika's Quick Attack except can't be redirected, Sceptile is surrounded with motion lines, like seen in the anime)
Down B: Leaf Storm (if on the ground sends an outward blast of leaves on both sides, if in the air, leaves surround Sceptile and he dives downward)
Final Smash: Mega Sceptile (hopefully to be announce at E3 preceding Sceptile's Smash announcement!) or Frenzy Plant (spiked vines randomly erupt and then retreat back into the ground all over the stage for a set period of time)

I am down for most moves: but leaves, seeds, and vines, must all be represented.

Jigglypuff doesn't learn Growth.
There is no water katana move from which Greninja garnishes his attack.
When has this mattered in smash?

If they use a grass type to show the starters, I want the most iconic Grass move.
Or, they can update him in the new game to learn a vine move.
I was initially including grass knot in this. Now I'm thinking I want vine whip.

Puff Up isn't Growth. Water Katanas give him something to Slash/Night Slash with. Idk.
Okay, apparently inventing moves entirely for characters is better than giving them game-related ones that seem feasible?

This actually brings up another point of how ridiculous Greninja's Final Smash is, given the other pokes' having Mega Evolutions. He doesn't even get his most powerful move ow? It's just what looks cool. Ya know what looks cool? Vine whip.

If you say so. I don't really care, so long as he is in. He could use hydro pump, fly, cosmic power, and thunder fang for all I care.

B:Bullet Seed. Sceptile shoots smalls seeds a short distance in front of him, similar to Ivysaur's b move from brawl.
Side B: Leaf Blade. Sceptile's signature move is a quick attack that sends Sceptile forwards, with a powerful slash.
Up B: Leaf Tornado. A tornado of leafs appears underneath Sceptile and launches it into the air. Using it on the ground doesn't launch Sceptile and leaves the tornado on the stage like sonic's spring. Before you say it, I know Sceptile can't learn this in a pokemon game but it's a grass move that I think would suit it well.
Down B: Grass knot. Small vines appear in a small area around Sceptile that grab any opponent who touches them before disappearing. Sceptile can plant up to three on the stage at once.
Final Smash: Overgrow.(or Mega Sceptile if it becomes a thing) Sceptile glows with a green aura and the blades on its arms grow long give him a large power boost and longer range with all attacks.
Sceptile's other moves would focus on using its arms and tail to attack.

Sceptile is the best choice if Sakurai is aiming to get all three types of starter each from a separate gen. We've got Fire from 1 (which will forever be popular), and Water from the latest (who has become the new Lucario popularity-wise). So what about Grass? With the Hoenn remakes on the horizon, it's possible that Game Freak let Sakurai know months in advance (they already did with Greninja, who's game didn't come out till Smash development was well underway) and brought up Sceptile.

Someone already proposed this theory didn't they...

I've been thinking about the animé recently, and while I haven't watched it since late Johto my girlfriend does so I'm vaguely aware of things... at the end of this season Greninja is going to be Ash' only fully evolved three stage water type, and it's going to be a starter... this got me thinking about how perfect this would be for him to go into a tournament with the Water/Fire/Grass core that's oh so loved by younger players... and since Charizard is the most obvious fan-service character, and Sceptile is pretty much second I can see the later parts of this season having the three Smash characters on hand, or at least in rotation...

It makes sense, would be excelent fan service, and of course help out Sceptile's chance... and while I guess he could also get Torterra out of the box Hoenn Remakes!

I'm also kinda happy to see Grass Knot appearing on people's movesets, I must have been onto something good when I threw it into my moveset at last minute :p.

Its just emphasising the markings on them but I think they, along with Rayquaza, will get megas. It's also confirmed that there are mega for Latias and Latios.
Those have been revealed, I thought they were even available.
The markings cannot be the megas, the covers are just them! Thank you for the back up.

I always thought of Torterra as an alternate reality Venasaur.
That whole family was rather sadly unoriginal.
Sometimes I believe they only give through to the fire starters.
Other than half being fire/fighting

I always thought a generation should have water/bug or water/poison, grass/flying or grass/steel and fire/dark or fire/rock

I think it would be fun if there were a generation of Water/Fire, Fire/Grass, and Grass/Water

As starters?!

I'd like this but I'd prefer they be catchable pokémon, doubly so 'cos then your Rival could have their starter and whichever one has the other two types leaving more room in his team for other types!

Tenth generation starters, or I suppose legendaries before hand would make more sense.

I've been looking for a Serperior thread but I can't seem to find one. HELP!!
There isn't any Serperior support thread as far as I know. Anyway, this is off topic, if you want a Serperior support thread then feel free to make one yourself (Do be sure to include a good amount of info though eg. general info, Moveset and all)

Also whenever you are looking if a certain thread exists, simply use the search bar or the general character support thread list.

You know, after enough consideration, I now support Sceptile! Hoenn remakes + limited grass movepool with Ivysaur says it all.

I'll probably make more formal posts and maybe a new moveset from here on out.

I am all for supporting Sceptile. I have my doubts, but it just makes enough sense to give me some hope. I was not originally too interested in new characters since I figured any that I would really like had so very little chance, but now things are different. I would really love to see Sceptile in Smash 4. It would bother me if we did not at least get a grass starter to go with our fire and water starters. It would be like making only five of the seven Koopalings playable in Mario Kart 8 in my opinion.

I think it would be neat to see some sort of leech seed/absorb based moveset, but I would be fine with anything. I would learn to use it if it meant I could play as my favorite pokemon. Hoping that we do not get Energy Ball as a neutral special though, we have a lot of those chargeable projectile specials already and 2 of them are on other pokemon. 3 if you want to include Mewtwo.

Anyone have a good idea where Energy Ball could be in Sceptile's moveset?

Maybe, way back when they decided to due away with transformations, pressumably back before the release of X/Y, Sakurai asked Game Freak how to deal with PKMN Trainer given the circumstance, and they were like, "alright Charizard needs to stay, buy we're working on these 4 games, and we have replacements for Squirtle and Ivysaur we hope you'll consider. Also, think about Mewtwo, and don't be afraid to make other cuts."

I don't know if this has been discuted yet, but what if the "elemental trio" concept is already covered by Charizard (Fire-Flying), Lucario (Steel-Fighting) and Greninja (Water-Dark).
I mean Charizard defeats Lucario, Lucario defeats Greninja, and Greninja defeats Charizard.
Wouldn't this affect Sceptile's chances for getting a playable spot? (if the "elemental trio" concept is anything to go by, of course).

Firstly, all of your images and gifs are amazing. Love em.

And yes, it has been discussed. This is just AN elemental triangle, it is not the one promoted, representational of the series, or even that obvious to non fans.

Plus, the flying and dark types seem to barely affect the characters.

Here, one short moveset:

-Side Smash: X-Scizor- An X shaped attack with the blades in Sceptile's arm. The blades glow green. High Knockback, damage around of 10-12%.
-Down Smash: Iron Tail- In this attack his tail glow white and its heavily hammered in the ground. Only attacks in front. High Damge, around of 18-20%. Horizontal and low knockback.
-Up Smash: Rock Climb- An horizontal jump followed by an X like cut upward. The blades glow beige. The jump is slightly high, and just after that jump, stones appear and raise upward, these stones push the foe up, to get the hit. A shock wave also hits in both sides of the lizard. The complete hit, stones plus X cut, lands High Damage (15%) and Knockback. The shock wave can trip the foe and land low damege, around of 3%. High shield damage.

-Neutral Special: Solar Beam- A chargeable projectile. This projectile is really different of Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball, it acts like R.O.B neutral, but can be charged. The charging time is slow, to fully charge it, is spent around of 20 seconds, but both damage (30%) and knockback are high. When in charging, the blades of Sceptile's arm, and the cottons of his back glow yellow while it moves rhythmically. These last ones keep glowing if the beam is fully charged.
-Side Special: Magical Leaf- Acts like Ivysaur side special, but never misses if the target is near, even if the target dodge, the leaf returns as a boomerang and hits. Low shield damage. 5% of damage. The blades glow pink.
-Up Special: Acrobatics- Jump, kick, kick, punch, slash. Meteor Smash effect. 15% of damage. If an item is hold, the jump is lower and the damage too. Also, it does not meteor smashes. The blades glow blue.
-Down Special: Well... it can be...
Grass Whistle- A bamboo whistle appears as the blades glow lilac. The enemy sleeps if it is hit by the musical notes that goes horizontally in a short range.
Seed Bomb- Sceptile buries a seed in de ground as its blades glow orange. Works as Snake down special.

Thoughs?
