Inferno, If the worst comes to the worst, bring em with you for the weekend. There's a lot of history in lancaster and a fair few places to go including morecambe. They can stay with you as long as nessecary and you can still come to the tournament. PM me about this actually.

I have an N64 and I have SSB however I doubt there'll be enough interest for a tournament. If there is then sure. But again, you gotta BYOC.

Hmm, I haven't eve mentioned this to my parents, where is lancester? If it's too far up north then I doubt it's gonna happen, it's unlikely as it is. I can always hope. Maybe when I'm older we could play more, then again when brawl comes out I hope you guys will still be on here so we can give each other our friend codes or w/e to play.

Lancaster is along the coast. Go to www.maps.google.com anbd type in ' Lancaster, UK ' without the quotation marks and you'll find it. You may need to zoom out a couple times to get a good idea of where it is though.

The sooner you tell them, the more chance you have, it's better notice plus gives you more time to plan around whatever problems they may have.

Inferno: No good making excuses and lying to yourself like that. As far as I know this year there have been 2 tournaments, the large one, SCT4 in Newcastle and the one in Taunton, I can't remember what it was called. Since Kone retired it's on someone else to create a tournament in London and I just haven't the means or the time or the connections, yet.

Like I said already: This is as official as it gets. If you wanna sit there and convince yourself your parents will say no regardless, do so. Just stop complaining in here. Alternatively, you could tell them, bring a parent along for the ride even, consult us about any problem you or they may have and we can work around it and you may be able to come.

^its been done and that would qualify as offical. A house tourney might be big and important and good but its not "offical" as such.

The only 'official' stuff I guess would be MLG by that logic. Since there's no MLG or equivalent here then yeah, this is as official as it gets. Show your parents the tournament thread, that looks okay enough. If they have any more doubts or concerns, tell me and I'll see if there's a way round it.

I think he means his parents won't be happy unless it is mlg like and yes we have had "offical" stuff in the uk. Fchans Glasgow tourney had flyers and ads on the internet and all sorts- a venue in some uni hall. House tourney doesn't count as offical by these standards and thats what i think he means.

Sounds like a plan dude. The tournament itself is being hosted at a community centre 1 minute's walk away from here. My house is being used to house everyone whilst the tournament isn't happening. Id try all you can, tournaments in Britain don't happen much lately.

Singles in the tournament costs £15 per person, Doubles costs £5 per person. This covers everything. You can money match outside the tournament if you like.

Ouch! Why such a difference between single and double? I guess it's cos you share the money and end up with enough people joining to make up the price

So... how many people are expected to turn up? Because it's not really gonna be a big tourney with only like 10 people :D I'm mostly interested in playing new people who are actually good enough to beat/challenge me (though likely you'll all beat me )

Inferno: Money Matches are completely optional and not needed at all.

The prices have changed, it's £10 per person for singles, £5 per person for doubles and £5 to cover charges like TV hire and venues.

I've already said, I'm getting no profit out of this, all I am getting is what I have paid for (TV hire, Venue) all the rest is going into the pot for prize money.
