I agree, it's a good thread, and Xie has done an amazing job.

I'm kinda on the fence on Ragna. I do think that he's better than he's ever been, but I dunno. As far as how the actual tier list is shaping up, that's hard to say. I do agree with Xie's breakdown of all the characters so far though.

I was a little reluctant for any tier discussion tbqh.

I'll just say that I think it is really well made and I agree 100% with my characters.

Haha, same.

But yeah, I don't feel in any way qualified to say much, since I've only had the game for less than a month, and I haven't really figured out my characters yet. But yeah, there's nothing that's been said that I flat-out disagree with. Everything that I've read makes sense so far.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it. :3

The main reason I see him as S is because he has practically everything covered. CS1 he definitely fell but that's because characters like Litchi and Bang could do what he could do but way better. IB had hurt Ragna back in CS1 but it's been nerfed in CS2 anyways. I just can't see him fall into the tier where Tao, Arakune, Bang, Hazama, and etc are. If there's one character I could see better than him, it'd be Valk.

I do like how Ragna is in this game. Easy to learn, but you kinda need to know the character really well to capitalize off of certain situations in terms of height and screen position.

I dunno, I don't think his mixup or his pressure is good enough for him to be S tier. He hits like a truck, but he doesn't have enough means to generate those hits imo. Which is why I think he'll fall down to A, at least. Also, this always happens in every first tier list. Ragna is always S, then falls as time progresses. I don't think this time will be any different. And I also don't think he's as good as Valk either, but that's just my opinion on it.

But who knows? I'm up for being proven wrong. :3

It's weird, that B Makoto one is about the only one of the DLC announcer things that I've actually pictured as the character saying it. Or...at least the one that seems to be the most like that.
NEGATIVE PENAL-UWAA! X3

I guess she might be the most likely to actually commentate mid match.

Or maybe Bang would.

It's pretty cool seeing Tager not near last for so long. I can't really say anything about this list though because I haven't been paying any attention to characters that are not the two I play +Relius. :/

I can still play Tsubaki and Bang at a basic enough level. I do play them whenever I want to mix it up a little but I've forgotten all but I few simple combos.

I'm still messing around with other characters as well, learning that I have some really terrible execution whenever I'm not playing one of the four.

I think that tier list Xie start on DL is kinda ridiculous. I think they're waaaaaay too strict with their rules. I could understand trying to keep people on-topic and minimize flaming but all of that ... formatting stuff is overkill. That makes me want to read/participate in it less, if anything. I think people are just going to lose interest in that thread early because it's just too much effort to keep up with his demands, on a topic most people don't really care that much about.

I do agree tier lists are necessary, and people complain about them way too much. Though I dislike how that tier list was made from only Xie's opinions. I get he's one of the best players outside of Japan, but even high level players can be biased.

I also disagree with his ranking system. I think it's extremely vague doesn't cover all of the aspects we typically think of when ranking characters. Some things he puts too much emphasis on and others he doesn't really talk about at all. He's basically trying to redefine how we think about character strengths and rankings, and that does not sit well with me at all.

Makoto announcer is horrid. Both A and B too... :urg: Probably my least favorite except for maybe Carl.

Makoto B was adorable.

Also, Xie apparently went to Japan for a while so he probably has a ton more experience than any american player with Extend by now. He was featured in a couple of those tournies posted up by Jourdal and a near 600 PSR to boot.

I might edit this post when I actually read the thread LOL.

Livewire wins 2-0 in a close set. GG's.

I'd forgotten how ******** Noel's midscreen damage is in CS2. -_-

Good Games, Raziek. It took me a bit to remember "oh crap, Hazama can hit me with Ouroburos full screen". And I still forget to tech out of that one Distortion ender combo. News of the day though: I can apparently combo off of throws for 3-4k now instead of going "oh, right!" and forgetting like I normally do! :bee:

Yeah, you never comboed me midscreen after a throw.
I was wondering why you never did.

If you meant B-Throw -> Mizuchi, you can't tech out of that.
I thought you could? Or maybe that's normal throw?

And I kinda got a 22BBC bit going after a throw midscreen but that was I think a combination of Raziek rolling the wrong way, me dashing, and me accidentally RCing.

Yeah, I know about this.

I watched all of the videos he's in/read all of his summaries on japanese players while he was there.

Also, Makoto main bias. :mad079: :mad079:
But i'm not one to talk because that's probably the only reason I like the rachel announcer so much.

But you were "rusty" back then lol

I'm bad against Noels regardless. You should see how badly Minato wrecked me with his "I don't care" noel /o\.

If by "rusty", you mean johns-y and whiny, then yes, lol. And wait...isn't every character you play of the "I don't care, you're getting messed up" variety gameplay wise?

You can't combo off of Noel's midscreen throw in CS2.
Back throw you can. Although the damage is less than a corner throw, over 2K isn't too bad.
But I guess I'm partially wrong since I replied to his 3-4k throw combo by bringing up a midscreen one, haha.

My Noel's pretty respectful yet disrespectful. lol

The next time I use Noel, I want to apply some more stuff. I never really did any blockstrings to take away guard primers.
Come to think of it, I haven't even done that with Ragna.

I haven't played BB in forever, but there is a touney on this Saturady along with Marvel and KoF.

Who is broken in CS2 AND Ex?

Just so I can maybe cause some upsets.

I'll probably just stick with Hakumen/Arakune either way :p

I have yet to meet respectful Noels, but maybe thats because Im a Lambda
Noel can't respect Lambda too much or she would never get in.

Stick with what you know.

Hakumen imo, because Arakune usually gets some pretty drastic changes.

Oh yeah?

I should look up some of his changes.

Hakumen is a REALLY natural feeling character for me to play.

Funny thing is I only intially picked him because of how badass he looked.

Yeah...Noel can't really NOT be disrespectful to Lambda if you want to win.

And I've heard Hakumen's what...3rd or 4th best in Extend probably? (I think I remember that tier thing on DL having Valk/Ragna/Hakumen/2 other people as S tier)

So, in other words...Spark just went Super Saiyan.

I kinda want to learn Hakumen since he seems pretty interesting in Extend. Arakune does seem pretty cool to learn as well.
With how balanced Extend is looking, it sort of motivates me to pick up a variety of characters.
