GGs lythium. I still don't know how I'm supposed to get through Mu's stuff though :x. Do you have any advice for me? And in general.

I'm also waiting on WereKill. If you can play today, just post here and I'll get to you.

Barrier canceling dashes is a huge help in dealing with lasers.

GGs Yamada and Crusayer.

I need to be less rusty at this game. ;-;

@Livewires: Hakumen is a good choice. His combos aren't too difficult (unless they're super crazy), his range is amazing, he has really good normals, and he's pretty easy to pick up. I say try him. :3c

Thanks. I was worried a bit on the Magatama system, but remembering that "it builds up on its own" kinda helps.

Also, just a side note to people, it's actually "Livewire" singlular. The "sXe" at the end refers to one of the 2 main Straight Edge symbols. Just putting it out there, lol.

Well. That was a fond reminder of the connection I share with Minato. 2-0'd by Minato in PS3 CS2. No comment. lol
GGs. It might be your router since my match with Rutger was smoother than ours.
I have a wired connection and ports forwarded so I can't do much else lol.

Yeah I'm starting to think that because I'm actually wired into mine too and yet it was that abysmal. I really gotta get in contact with my service provider for getting a new modem to use this router I have.

Fun fact, 70% of the time when I Fenrir'd, or did so in the middle of a combo, I was going for Spring Raid. How the heck mashing 623 turned into Fenrir, I have no idea. The same thing also happened when I'd do 2B to Far Optic Barrel. I meant to do 2B to 6C, lol.

Updated PS3 bracket:

Against a zone-happy Mu who's just throwing steins out willy-nilly (like I do!) or trying to zone with Habaya (orb that angles up or down), don't forget about your orb, I think you can get a fatal counter combo off of it. Super-jump barrier or dashing barrier will help you get in. Your 2A is very strong in this match-up, especially when Mu is above you. j.B is pretty effective, just make sure you don't get clipped by Mu's j.C (the really long horizontal sword), it has a lot of active frames. If I remember correctly, you can 3C under Mu's 5C/6C/laser/bomb/Tsurugi. On the other hand, don't get too happy with it, Mu's 2B can poke you right out of it. Parry ****s Mu up.

I hope that helps. Your Makoto is really good though, I can't really think of anything you need to work on. The only thing that I can think of is that you usually have a lot of heat left at the end of a round, and you never end a corner combo with a distortion, which is a good way to throw some extra damage on. GGs, I look forward to playing you again. :3c

My bad. Hakumen is a good counterpart to Noel though, I've played them together before.

Thanks for letting me know. We'll see how it goes, and take it from there. :3c

With that link, I always found it was easier to do 3B > 6C. That way, you don't get 236C by accident.

Why can't I quit you, Noel? :I

You're supposed to save up heat with Makoto. It lets you break primers safely and do shenanigans with baits. Nothing quite like the feeling of slamming a long, silver bullet into a well-oiled chamber 5D on block and waiting until they think they can punish you, then rapiding and jabbing them out.

Primers > damage now.

So if I beat Raziek, then I have to face Lythium. And if I beat Lythium, I have to face Minato.

Agreed, but if you have 100 heat at the end of every round, and you could use it to finish someone off, what's the point in saving it?

Tournament Results (XBL):
I beat Roan.

GGs. I'm surprised I actually won considering you wreck me in that match-up most of the time. :<

On the whole Heat debate, I have to say that well, get the win however you can. Too many times I've lost rounds when I've been all "hey, I've got meter!" and gone for style points with a fancy Distortion or sometimes even Astral Finish. It can be REALLY tempting to go and use that meter to get a fancy win, but success is based on effectiveness, not flash unfortunately. If it was based on flash, I'd be doing a bunch of random crazy things. Even more than I already do (playing a high-risk, high-reward character in a high-risk, high-reward way even for her...yeah...), lol.

Hahaha. I can never ever get that 236236D (PF) finisher. And I keep forgetting I can do 632146D (BBS) instead. So what happens when I drop a combo that should've killed them. 5aaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Then I get 2D'd by noel \o/.

I tried doing 236A~D (orb) against when you started zoning with Mu and consequently got ***** by lasers. Does 3C do anything here? Or is really run up 2a actually the best option haha.

You just reminded me of why I dislike playing random Noels online. Neutral tech to wake up 2D, jab, or even Fenrir.
None of them ever decide to just block on wake up. lol

At least I don't see any wake up 5Ds like in CS1...

What's your corner combo, Crusayer? My combos almost always end in 6B > 236A/214C, j.A (whiff).

Also:

Against a zone-happy Mu who's just throwing steins out willy-nilly (like I do!) or trying to zone with Habaya (orb that angles up or down), don't forget about your orb, I think you can get a fatal counter combo off of it. :I
I don't think you can 3C under Mu's 6C anymore and you never could 3C under bomb. :/
Also, all it takes is one 2A (hit or block) to body Mu.

I'm actually following the non 6B force wake up w/ 236A oki route. I'm trying to get the timing down to cover all options on tech rolling. I figure with the force wake up it'll put them into strong pressure yes, but it won't always lead to something. While if you don't force wake up, they might get baited into roll which the orb will pick up and you have to confirm off of. If they don't roll and neutral wake up, they will have to block the orb anyway. Which puts you into the same position as 6B force wake up.

I'm also thinking about alternating between force wake up and non-forced for characters with 1f attacks like ragna and hakumen.

My corner combos:
Off 2A 5B 5CC 6BC 5D 66 2C 214B~D 2C 2D ender (dependent what character)
Ender 1: jD 66 236A~D 214B~D 236A oki
Ender 2: 2C 214B~B dj jD 236A~D jD 66 236A oki)

I do ender 1 solely because I can never time the 66 after 214B~B jD fast enough.

I could make a long list but you probably know them all.

Nvm, you gots good things. I'm not too different.

I feel most comfortable with my ender being:
236A~D, j.D, 6B > 236A oki

Mine probably does about 100 more damage though!!

Also, you can't do combo --> 2C > 214B~j.B, jc, j.D because they tech before j.D hits if you started with jab.

It works on a majority of the cast. You just need to delay the j.B as much as possible. It doesn't work on tsubaki, makoto, and lambda.

I do ender 1 for:
Tsubaki, Makoto, Lambda, Ragna, Jin, Carl, Arakune, Platinum

Ender 2 for the rest of the crew:
Valkenhyn, Taokaka, Litchi, Tager, Hakumen, Hazama, Bang, Rachel, Mu, Noel

Of course, if you're fast enough with the 66 236A~D, you don't even need ender 1 except for the three that 214B~B jD doesn't work on.

Freshly tested!

I actually wasn't joking, I could only get the 6C to come out maybe 20% of the time.
Haha, okay. Well, I hope it helped. :3c

Nope, you totally can. It's not risk-free naturally, but it's definitely doable.

And 2A is pro Makoto. ;)

I feel like I'm having to learn Tao's new loop all over again. That break I took playing AH3 and inFamous 2 has really hurt me. :urg:

I almost want to switch to Tsubaki for this tournament for her easy combos that don't get screwed by lag.

Tsubaki's actually pretty fun. I wish I wasn't such a scrub with her though. I can never seem to get her 623C > 214A cancel > 2C-C to hit outside of training mode though.

Wish I could have participated in this tourney, but I just barely got back from Brazil today. :(
Playing on my PS3 takes some getting used to after a whole month of the 3DS.

Haha, I was actually in Porto Alegre for a short while. But mainly in Rio and Salvador. I didn't think that there would be BB players down there. :o
