Johto best region there is. It revolutionize the entire Pokemon World. Adding competition, time, breeding, and a whopping 16 badges with many challenges at the end of the game.

I find Sinnoh my most favroite due to my favroite Pokemon chracter Dawn and a good amount of Ubers that I love to pick in that region. <3

Well, seeing as I've never played any of the newer games I have to say Kanto by far is my favorite region, in particular Saffron City is my favorite city, due to Giovanni. Johto I must say is awesome as well, in particular Goldenrod City was my favorite city.

Sinnoh is my favorite, I just have a liking for ice environments.
Hoenn was origionally my favorite until I setted my eyes upon Sinnoh.
Btw, i'm biased when it comes to sinnoh. Just thought that i'd say this now.

While I'm a classic Pokemon lover, Hoenn takes the gold. It easily sports the most creative and diverse environments, while still retaining unity. I love it.

I gotta hand it to Hoenn, due to me not getting bored of it after however many years I played the Advanced games. I got sick of Jhoto quicker than Hoenn, though putting Kanto in there made me play it more... But that made it TWO regions, so that doesn't count. XD

We're talking region here, not game.

Anyways, Hoenn is the best. By far. The region was just so... beautiful, and everything felt right. The ocean was vast and deep, the desert was cool, the forests felt just right, and Mossdeep was just plain pretty. Pokemon was meant for GBA-style graphics.

Not to mention the greatest thing ever to come to Pokemon: Secret Bases.

Pretty much this. It also introduced more than just grass and the ocean as environments. We got the desert, a soot-covered volcano region, a snowy region... Hoenn did the best for sure with overall design.

Then came Sinnoh, which has a so painfully linear level-design I though I was playing KOTOR.

Hoenn was good, but from best to worst.

Sinnoh - mainly because the buildings and cities (Although the music was pretty horrible >.>)
Hoenn
Kanto
Johto

Odd enough though, the second generation was my favorite game.

Even though I liked the sea of Hoenn the cities were really well thought out, which is what attracted me in Sinnoh. Sorry Hoenn.

edit: We can list any region right? If so I'll need to revise my list to fit in the Mystery Dungeon games >.>

.. maybe later once I have a map though..

And...cyndaquil as a starter. Yay.

My favorite region was a close battle between Sinnoh and Hoenn, but Sinnoh won by a sliver.
I'd probably like Johto better, but I just don't remember it clearly. :(
Kanto is so boring IMO.

Agreed. IMO kanto was there to set a base for the future. Even taking nostalgia in to account, popping R/B into my Gameboy and playing seems boring. Maybe it's cause I completed everything (the pokedex, main story ect.) but there isn't much extras in it.

Though the region was plain and boring it had great pokemon. Characters that I will always remember (Red FTW!) and a story that was actually interesting (never seeing Giovanni again was pretty intense, and it got better in FR/LG were he left you a letter if you completed all the messages). The new games lack all of that (the stories are so similar it hurts).

Though for an overall layout and everything, Gen 1 was a definite last IMO.

Do you mean to say that Giovanni was that much more EPIC than he originally was in R/B/Y? I s Kanto that much different from it's old R/B/Y counterpart?
