You guys are simply too much. Thank you all. :colorful:

Honestly speaking, if this is something you guys would genuinely deem me worthy of and feel strongly about, I'd have a hard time declining such a kind gesture for fear of seeming ungrateful or above it. But at the same time, one side of me would feel bad making you guys fork out hard-earned money on my behalf. In the event such a thing did come to pass, I'd like to know there's some way I coud put it to use for the community and not just have it be for my own personal enjoyment.
The next Ganon tourney's at Verm's house, guys!

Seriously, though, if this were a factor in facilitating greater prolificacy in your upload schedule (including maybe some tutorials or demonstrations?) I would consider it money well spent.

However, I think I could justify the expenditure only to get in a few rounds of friendlies and maybe learn a thing or two about the Way of the Annihilative; although, saying such kind of makes it sound like I'm trying to buy your time, which I'm not.

I figured those points would get brought up so I'll tackle them. First of all, I understand the fact that you'd feel bad, but it's our choice to fork over cash for this. Secondly, I don't think you need to do for the community aside from the norm. Go to tourneys whenever possible, practice, play us online, etc. I've honestly had this idea for awhile now and I just figured I'd voice it on the boards.

Haha, I would never think such a thing! I know you're just giving suggestions to ease my conscience in such a case, and for that I'm even more grateful :colorful: I'd be more than happy to do all of those things, and I'd encourage anyone to give me ideas on ways to give back.

You're a gentleganon after my own heart, Mr. J. If this comes to fruition, I will do my utmost! (I do and will regardless, but you get the idea)

I'd totally contribute if I were able but sadly I cannot. I really hope you get a U though, and if everyone helps you out that'd be pretty cool. It's been like almost a year since we've played which is crazy, especially considering how much I learned from that. Sometimes I even think back to our games and try to apply or act in a way you would lol.

Anyway I understand feeling weird about accepting, but I don't see any harm. The community loves seeing you and all the other top dorfs play, and you're such a good guy for the smash scene as a whole you really deserve it. If everyone were more like you the smash community would be much better honestly.

Also kinda related but it'd be cool to play some new dorfs at some point. I'm not big on mirrors but I kinda see them as stupid fun because they can be ridiculously fast with the right reads and dorf gimps dorf so well it's cray.

You already know about the Skype chat but I recall you saying you can't join. Some are against Discord for now so that's probably a no go as well. Just ask on here though, most of us on Skype are always willing to play and are members of the boards as well. Honestly I've played alot of high level Dorfs aside from like you, Z1GMA, Kalm, Vex. I'm always itching for a good fight.

I still need an answer though Vermanubis Vermanubis . Just the Wii U? The game as well? Controller?
I have access to a controller, but none to the game or the WiiU. :(

That is something else, isn't it? Hard to believe we've all been playing this game a year now.

But that means a lot, Opa. It really does. Thanks, dude. :colorful: You've grown into a fine Dorf, so your words hold weight not only on their own merit, but as a compatriot-in-Ganon as well.

Whatever comes of this whole thing, the mere sentiment has made my day, and the following days to come, I'm sure.

Are you daft, Verm? I don't work for my cash, I have plenty kicking around from my student grants.

Keep uploading amazing stuff. In higher quality this time. :p

A lot of us are people that care for each others well being. The way things are for me currently, I have the privilege of reasonable disposable income. Gaming communities have done so much for me as a person, and while certainly I contribute to that with my power as a consumer, as an emerging independent adult, I also feel like expressing goodwill is another responibility. I wish more people really understood how great gamers like us truly are. Gamers, especially competitive gamers aren't exactly the best understood members of society. While an action like this individually is small, I want to be a part of the proof we are amazing people who are driven to win, and for the right reasons.

If that sounds too sappy for an evil overlord, know that I will not let your throne go uncontested!

Finally got to play with Swoops. Exciting as hell, and picked up a few things with Dorf. Also the first time I've ever beaten anyone in 27 seconds. D: sorry about that

Lol np, such is the way of the Dorf mirror match. Let me know if you want to play again soon and we'll see if your ROB vs Ganon fares better next time. ;)

My bad guys I've been so tired (and lazy) but I did do the research on gofundme and the fees per donation and such. I will post that info later. Personally, I'm not a fan simply because of the fees and I'd prefer if all funds 100% went to the cause. If anyone has an alternate way of making this work that way, feel free to bring it up to my attention. If not, I'll just go along with the gofundme idea. That being said I had a delicious power nap Naroghin Naroghin so I can play you for a bit. NNID jmanup85

I sent the request. I'll have a room open. Ganon tourney rules ok? I'm fine with customs if you want them.

I'm not sure about gofundme. I wonder if there are some other options we can pursue. I'll do some research later today as well. There's gotta be a better option. We'll see.

Thanks! You as well.

I wonder if there is a way to finagle kickstarter to serve our ends? I dunno, never used it. "You Caring" looks promising as well. It's free but we need the "beneficiary's full name" and a location. We can make it private, allowing greater control over who we have funding, so that's good. Still unsure, though.

I'd definitely throw some money into that. Honestly, if I were able to get some friendlies with Verm, it'd be money well spent.

Hehe, not sappy at all, my friend. Means a lot, and as I posted a long time ago on the Brawl Ganon boards, there's no shame in charity as long as it serves to lure one into a false sense of security; to preserve a pawn for later use, as it were. :ganondorf:

You guys are simply awesome, but if the logistics prove too tricky, by no means feel obligated to pursue. As I mentioned, the sentiment alone is just tremendous. :colorful:

Appreciate it more than you know, Mag. You know I'd be more than happy to play some with you and the others.

Innnn other news, I (disappointingly) got 2nd today at my most stacked tournament yet. I reset the bracket from losers and went to game 10 in grands, but I let it slip. In any case, here's the part of the stream:

http://www.twitch.tv/breadnbuttergames/v/17944596

1:15:40 vs. Kimidori's Sheik/ZSS

1:48:00 vs. Zerxion's Mewtwo

1:58:00 vs. Shiny's Lucario (I'm deeply embarrassed of how I messed this one up)

http://www.twitch.tv/breadnbuttergames/v/17966872

4:20 vs. Kimidori's Sheik

Somwhere around the end: vs. Shiny's Lucario

Also, fun trivia: almost every Dsmash save for one or two were accidental. I was trying to dash attack OoS, but I still haven't quite mastered the c-stick/cube controller.

Congrats anyway Verm! I would never make it to the grand finals out there XD
That trump>aerialwk>spike on sheik was delicious :D

Btw, i haven't seen sheik doing d-throw>Uair locks. Last time on wifi i played against a sheik who did that
all the time, and it was very annoying. Now i dont have alot of exp against sheik or it was a wifi thing,
but i just couldnt figure out how to get out of that without getting re-grabbed. Got any advice?

Thanks =]

I think the issue with funding is that there needs to be two things that people are leery about here: 1)Depth and openness of information, and 2)Full reliance (and therefore faith and trust) upon one person to actually manage the account.

Unfortunately, I think the cleanest way to actually make this work would be to have you start your own private crowd-funding thing (whichever you want to use) and have full management over everything; however, as we know, you are much too proud and stately a Ganon to presume deserving charity from others and ask of it yourself. I think we will find a way, yet.

I think it would be good to start a conversation for this purpose so we can keep it from clogging/derailing this thread. Unfortunately I have to run off to work, so if jmanup85 jmanup85 wants to start a convo with some peeps that would be great, otherwise I'll check tonight and start one.

Put together another Ganon montage of my remaining 1.1.0 highlights in lieu of a likely patch. Tried a few different things when it comes to the editing, tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, man. :ganondorf:

The Dthrow>UAir string is unavoidable at low to mid percents, but in general, until you get to high percents, you either want to just take it and try landing (aerial wizkick/empty landing mix-ups) or grabbing the ledge (this MU gets really annoying in situations like that where you keep having to reset after getting juggled). The reason is because, as you might've seen, Sheiks love to bait airdodges for up-b kills. Sheiks get a lot of mileage out of panicked reactions, so learning to just take the UAirs and try to reset to the ledge or land safely helps you keep your composure and not get tricked into airdodges or other silly things.

I've been improving a lot at Ganon recently thanks to A2ZOMG A2ZOMG 's advice. I've mastered stuff like pivot fsmash as a choke techchase, and also how to mix up my ledge getups.
Also, I never realized just how much I fished for flame choke until people pointed it out to me. I still have a long way to go, but I'm improving.

Here's a highlight video I made recently! I've been working in foxtrotting and pivot dashing into my game. I so love reading with Dair! And I'm trying to get down ledgejump to frameperfect Side-B

Good stuff, Jyro Jyro

I lit up when you took the rollout with WP armor. Such a cheese!

Also, here's a vid from the tournament. I kinda wish I knew what happened to the other one:

Vermanubis Vermanubis Why do you always go to the ledge after you take a stock? You're the only Ganon I see do it and I'm really curious as to why.
It's to wait out their invincibility and to bait them into coming out after him so he can get a good punish or even a gimp. A2ZOMG A2ZOMG does it too, and it's a tool I've picked up recently.

What _Magus_ _Magus_ said mostly. To wait out their invincibility and bait them. Though it's character dependent. Against characters who can cover my ledge options like Rosa, I won't do it.

Normally I can't do the fancy schmancy fast fall ledge snap that most people do, but with Ganondorf its easy because he literally has a button you can press to instantly snap to the ledge if you time it right. Timing a side b into the ledge after running off produces a ledge snap just as fast as a normal one, except there's minimal risk of SDing if you mess up, whereas you can easily accidentally fastfall past the ledge and kill yourself if you haven't mastered the tech. This side b ledge snap tech applies to Captain Falcon too, as his aerial side b interacts with the ledge similarly.

Good Sheik. My only complaint is that he missed way too many punish opportunities in which he could have taken your stock especially last game, and as you mentioned about my matches during EXP, the opponents you fought seemed to have no Ganon experience.

I'd like to see how you do in the future fighting the same guys.

Oh, I've fought 'em many times and they know Ganon. The fact that he played as defensively and non-commital as he did should be evidence of that. :p His missed punish opportunities are a result of his conservative playstyle (known as our campiest player) or just mistakes, rather than MU ignorance -- things like being overly aggressive and air-dodging into common setups are good evidence of this -- neither of which he does. Not to boast about my competition, since he's certainly not a top 5 Sheik, but I'd be remiss to say his play reflected MU ignorance. He didn't really give me much for free.

In addition, given my comments about that tournament, I'd be an absolute hypocrite to not accept similar comments! However, given your preamble and direct reference thereto, I think you may have been trying to send a message with this more than anything. :ganondorf:

Thanks Verm :ganondorf:
so Ganondorf has to respect the uair strings :/

I guess it's the same respectful story with PKFire isn't it?
Rolling backwards, and rolling twice seemed to be the only way to get out of these:

Or perhaps it was on purpose? Dorf can be used as a verb too. As in, he totally Dorf'd that Sheik.
